I hated Mascara until I heard it for the tenth time. It became a ear worm that stuck in my head and just randomly pops up. I knew I was hooked when one day when I was telling my coworker to leave my tools alone. I said "Don't mess with my Mascara". He looked at me funny and said wtf are you talking about. I responded "it's my party, I'll cry if I want to". He walked away annoyed and confused. I was giggling all day at my random introduction of an XG song into daily conversation.
I guess it's because XG is really different from the K-Pop format people were used to. But I think it's better that Mascara is a grower because that means it will really get into your head unlike some songs that we like in the first listen and then forget about it after just a few listen.
Yup, I'm working on the possibility of doing a whole debate using only XG bars. So far, "Don't be bitter be better" alone kills about half of all arguments 🤣
Another thing that I like about the Studio Choom performance is that it also highlights their expressions. A simple smirk here and there, a full blown smile, a raised brow, it lends to how much the girls love their craft and performance.
The road to their debut is different from the popular public auditions, where there are no fans present during the audition. I think it's great that you can see what kind of experience they had and what kind of hardships they overcame during that tough audition. It's going to get more and more serious from now on, so you won't be able to watch it without crying, but I think this documentary contains all the reasons why ALPHAZ🐺 loves XG from the bottom of his heart ♥️
Simon is not your typical CEO/executive producer that doesn’t care about his artists. He’s always there for them. Coaching and comforting them whenever possible. He really wants just the best team. He wants to convey how tough this scene is and you have to fight to win and survive. As for tape 3A. I love how they switch between Harvey and Maya. But if you noticed, Maya’s scene is mirrored. You noticed it by her Von Dutch cap. One thing we were upset is that Paak gave shade to this performance and Harvey is a fan, meanwhile the original artist Cordae gave them respect. Even Dem Jointz and JID gave them love. Paak forgot he’s just the featured artist…
I did like Puppet Show when it released. Studio Choom made me love it. The expressions the fact that Cocona sings that part.. All the Choreo it's perfect.. Their synchronization is insane..
At that time Chisa Maya and Juria were the bottom 3, the three of them had practiced near the parking lot, but thanks to their efforts, they became shining XG ❤
Maju eliminated herself from her team thinking the other higher team was going to choose her. In Simon’s eyes, she abandoned them instead of being a good leader since she’s a red vest. It didn’t look good for her. This is the reason why when they released their performance mv of Hesono o and X-Gene. I kept cheering on Team C
I agree with you 100% about puppet show. I loved the video but when I saw the Studio Choom, it took it to a whole new level. My favorite part of it is the lighting creating shadows to give the appearance of puppets.
XG just continues to exceed themselves. They are absolutely the Dream Team. Yes, I didn’t care for Mascara and TGIF when it was released…but now I love them both and they’re on repeat 🔁. Glad to see you opted for another round of XG!!!! XTRA XTRA is definitely a roller coaster ride. It’s like reading and knowing the happy ending of a good book. But now you have to experience the gut-wrenching details in the middle of the story with all the plot twists. Why do we punish ourselves? I’ve already gone through it. To see someone else go through the process feels a bit strange, like a voyeur in a way. But it’s entertaining(??) To me, yes, and educational to hear the thoughts and reasonings I may have missed. XG did an ASL (American Sign Language) TikTok-like video to Girl Gang. Some of the signs were incorporated into their choreography. Why? Two Tens and lyrics ... pay special attention to Harvey wearing this simple summer dress - all light colors, simple hairstyle and all that. Then she starts spitting about killing it like John Wick, and using Captain America's catchphrase "I can co this all day" that he always uses when he is severely beaten up. These bars are literally bloody. And they are delivered with that sweet smile in a sweet voice wearing a sweet summer dress. That's how you break the rules - it wouldn't work if Harvey would be wearing black biker clothes, and it wouldn't work with Cocona or Jurin - they don't have the voices for sweet and innocent. But Harvey (and similarly Maya) defies our expectations here, and that's how you establish that the two in here are badass. The ultimate paradoxon of Tape #3A - looking badass by not looking badass.

These two videos of Shooting Star and Puppet Show are the reason why I always come back and watch them.
