NORTHSEAKAYAK - The Trip #5 - Raz de Sein

- Raz de Sein is something that was on our to-do list for a long time! We have made a short trip there, finally! Pointe du Raz is a exposed headland in Brittany (Bretagne), France. It is known for its strong tidal currents, very rough coastline and famous lighthouses. We were there for only 3 days, which is way too short. Our days there were packed, we did a lot of distance and visited a lot of places (some of them well hidden). Towards sea kayaking specifically , we could paddle in the tide race a few times (on recon mission for the future as it was neap tide now), we could enjoy the ocean swell that gifted us with perfect waves, do a lot of rock gardening and visited the caves. We still have that smile on our faces!

@@robertnissenbaum Haha, yes indeed! And no sea kayak rentals over there. Actually there is really nothing in that area, which is the reason why we like it there! Remote and wild!
Despite all, it is a whole lot easier to travel than Anglesey and the tide can be VERY voilent. You just pick your hour in function of what you can handle.

@@Northseakayak Ja. Eigenlijk dacht ik enkel even een banaan en wat drinken te nuttigen daar, maar het was zo'n onverwacht wonderlijke plek dat ik er uitgebreid rond heb gekeken. Mooi reisje hebben jullie gemaakt, zo eventjes een paar dagen, goed plan!
