I have never imagined stone can sing! it is, at the same time, marvelous and somehow strange... Indeed, the Space and Time could sound like that. It reminds me of the string theory, the quality of the Universe, hearts of the stars, the silence of cosmic space...
I have seen and heard Mozdzer live in the U.K. On the few occasions he has been invited to appear. He is, in my view, on a level with Tigran Hamasyan. In general, with a few exception, here in the UK we are almost exclusively served up with the music of the dead. I have had to fly to Europe to hear, see and experience music which confounds and stretches the imagination. The first time was in London when he played at a venue organised by the London Polish Community. Ted and I, I believe, were the only English members of the audience. Ted and I are / were Jazz musicians in our mid 70's. This is not to denigrate British musicians but the present generation, have never received the support, even today, that is accorded to Classical musicians. It is ironic that the present generation living in the former Eastern block countries have benefitted from a more intense and rigorous technical education embracing Schoenberg, Polenk, etc., We owe an unpaid debt of honour to the Polish nation. The last thing we should be doing now is to desert Europe. What right has our government to deprive me of my European citizenship? Putin must be laughing his socks off!
Isn't it great when you learn of something completely new! Tonight I was introduced to the sound stones of Pinuccio Sciola via the concert of Gloria Campaner and Leszek Mozdzer in Holt, North Norfolk, UK!
