    This is EXACTLY what i was looking for. This is the same motor housing type as in the ELECTROLUX VACUUM CLEANER MODEL : ZSH720 . Hoping this will help future people looking for how to service this motor.

    Very informative video! Thank you for this.
    I have one recommendation though. At the end of the video when you pressed the lid back on and glued it; What you should have done was submerged the lid in a bowl of water, microwaved it until the water reach boiling temperature, and then press the lid back on while the lid was still hot.
    That way, the lid would shrink fit back onto the motor properly, and you wouldn't have needed to use the glue.

      @LalSingh-lf4wt Před 3 lety

      My comments are on JJRClassics88: Your suggestion would work for shrunk fit tolerance. May not work in this case, because the lid was easily put on. At the time of removing the lid, it seems to be expanded by sharp screw driver. The removal process of lid is skipped in the video. It is a difficult step.

    Don't insert screwdriver into aluminum fan to hold it when trying to remove the bolt.
    You can damage it/bend the blades and it will make a lot of noise and cause the motor to overheat. There are other methods. I learned this the hardway.

      @@inderjitwassi1420 You take two thin scraps of wood that fit into brush end of the motor, measure the rotor brush size, clap these two pieces of wood and drill a hole the same size as the brush, attach these two wood pieces to the rotor/ brush area/clamp so that when you want to unsrcrew the bolt rotor does not spin.

    Hi, thanks for your excellent video!
    I want to ask one problem I am facing with my Vacuum cleaner. One day the zip of the dust bag was open and I used the vacuum cleaner in a dusty area and I immediately smelled something wrong. So, I switched off the machine immediately. Then after some days in opened and cleaned the motor of the vacuum cleaner and cleaned all dust and debris. There was no smell of coil getting burnt. I dropped few drops of machine oil on both the bearings. After starting, I could see lots of sparks near the bushes and different smell coming from the machine.
    Kindly, suggest the probable problem and its solution.

      Inspect both brushes for to much wear or to deep of a curve in them, if to much inward curve, the side edges may be to sharp causing a kind of outward glancing, dancing arcing..can take out to deep of inward curve with some delicate surgery with a dremel tool to once again match the original brush curve.

    Vacuum cleaner motors about 2200 watts of power that i have one from hoover i run without a fan turbine at 220 volts and electric motor consumes about 170 watts or 220 watts when run with turbine fan they consumes 1500 watts or 2000w because of centrifugation airflow resistance what do you think?

    I'm not impressed with your wedging technique to remove and install the nut on the end of the shaft. Bends in the turbine will unbalance it and shorten the life of the motor bearings. I think an investment in a small impact driver will help you not damage your customer's property. Save the wedging for more robust machines like lawnmowers. I personally use a c-clamp on the side of mower decks, by the way.
