This is miss leading.. as a detailing of 10yrs experience and 2 years of those 10 I worked in a body shop and having experience burning paint lol I can honestly say that is not burnt at all you just dried that compound into that paint causing it to look like that and making it easy to polish off I’ve done it like that before it’s just a results of to much heat a dirty pad and to much product . The reason why I took the time to comment here is because I get a lot of customers coming to me tell me “oh I saw this and that on CZcams” and they don’t really understand what’s going on on their cars.

I think there need to be a distinction between "burned clear coat" and a "birn through".
It appears the clear was over heated and then discolored, fixable.
Over heating the clear and then "burning through" i.e. removing so much clear you now run into the actual paint layer, is only fixable with a replay.
I think most people, yself included read the title and are assuming you're fixing clear that has been burned through.

Btw you can add a tiny little bit of clear coat on the problem area and then do what he did in video and it works you can see the area if light hits it in certain direction but overall works fairly well

This is not burnt clear coat. All you did was either scratch the clear or leave residue. Easy to buff out. Burnt clear coating implies burnt through.

I would just spray clear coat, sand it and polish, but this is a nice solution if the person just wants it look good again for a while because the sun will oxidaze the paint after some time, after all old cars didn't have clear coat and they had to be polished far more frequently.

Do not do this video to your car. You will strip the clearcoat further down to the paint and then you will have to clearcoat the hood over again. I own a body shop and have for 30 years. This guy is using smoke and mirrors to make a very deceptive video. PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO.
