- TEE HIGGINS wants to be TRADED from the CINCINNATI BENGALS: Josh Norris and Hayden Winks of Underdog Fantasy break down the trade request from Tee Higgins. Do the Bengals have any good reason to honor it? The franchise tag can be used next year as well. Does trading make any sense in their (diminishing) Super Bowl window?

😮 Higgins has missed too many games over the last few years. Can't blame Cincy for franchise tagging him
Dosen't Tee understand if he helped the Bengals win the superbowl his value would go up.
Not how it works. He’s risking injury on a *possibility* . NFL careers are short and this man wants his payday. You can’t name 10 WR better than him. He deserves to be #1 option and get top pay. You can always go from a SB contending team to another just like how Orlando Brown came to us from KC for more money.
@@24KLuxury in that case why would the Bengals want to keep him around couldn't he just keep missing the ball or say he's injured.
@@24KLuxury Tyreek, Lamb, JJ, Chase, AJB, Amon-Ra, Diggs, Davonte Adams, Garret Wilson, Deebo, Aiyuk, even Marvin Harrison and Malik Nabers without playing a down. There’s more too
@@trevoraugustus2249 Nico Collins, Keenan Allen, Mike Evans, DJ Moore, Jaylen Waddle, Puka, etc. etc. But I would have Tee in my top 25 to be fair.
@ronhogrefe8465 while on the tag if you miss time that a million $$$ less every game he misses
Tee Higgins needs to stay healthy before he starts demanding anything.
The same could have been said for Burrow.
I enjoyed the friendly bickering about the market value of WR and EDGE, gave me a good laugh lol. Love all the videos about fantasy relevant free agent signings so far. Keep up the great work.
Cost = Demand. It’s higher for a Brian Burns.
I just don’t get it. The franchise tag was actually a voted on part of the players union agreement. The players agreed to this franchise tag by the owners, so why they complain about it all the time I’ll never understand since the union voted for it.
The thing is, the players agree the tag money is a lot, and Tee is obviously fine with getting 20+ million. No matter what, though, they want long term job security. Especially in a sport as brutal and violent as football.
What if Tee gets his leg mangled like Nick Chubb this year? Who's going to pay him? Will he ever be the same player? That's the big issue
@@hammersbaseball11 If I had a piece of cheese I could make a ham and cheese sandwich if I had some ham! “If” is a bad word!
@@horacecomegna335 This isn't some wild hypothetical. This is stuff that happens every year, all throughout the history of the league.
There is no such thing as long term security in the NFL! It does not exist.Every players contract,is based on them making the team, that year! That is the way it is inn the NFL! Just because someone signs a 4 year contract for say $40 million.Does not mean they will see all that money,un less it is guaranteed. No one, but the Browns have ever done that! They were stupid, and guaranteed, all of Deshaun Watson's $250 million contract.@@hammersbaseball11
They voted for it because otherwise more of the cap would go to the top players instead of the middle class players.
Tee is blessed make 21 Millie this year. He can hit the market next year.
If he has a major injury in the 2024 his value goes down. That's why players want long term guaranteed money for their future.
@@dark8prince201 21 mil ain’t enough?
I believe Tee could be a number one receiver
@@dark8prince201if he gets injured this year that would prove why the bengals are hesitant to pay him WR1 money. He’s only been healthy 80% of games and he’s never made pro bowl or all pro money. I’m sure 21 a year they would resign him but his agent sounds like he wants 25+
@@Camm85not when you one of 1 thousand people who can play in the nfl and 1 of a few hundred who can start.
This WR draft class is loaded, the market will be cold for Tee due to this, GMs would rather take the first or second pick in the draft with the rookie contract then the big check and injury history with Tee.
The WR class is the same as it is EVERY year...a bunch of UNPROVEN (on the NFL LEVEL) 'TALENT'
Tee Higgins is not Stefon, Diggs, AJ, Brown or Tyreek Hill. 10:00 stop bringing them up when talking about tee. Defensive players can also play longer on average than wide receivers. With better production at an older age.
What is difficult to understand. The market values high end, edge, rushers more than they value wide receivers. It’s not difficult that’s why edge rushers get paid more than wide receivers. Because they’re more valuable. 11:06
I'm tired of people acting like getting paid a Top 5 fully guaranteed WR salary for one season is unfair because their favorite team doesn't get the chance to sign a guy
You guys are really good. You covered all the points on Tee and its all true. I'm a Giant fan and I would trade for him for the 47th pick and 60mil/3year or 80mil/4 deal. He is not a true No1 but he is a great player.
Charting positional value via trade compensation vs contract 🔜
Sample size is too small for trades.
This division is tough man
Kalelee Mac got trade as a top edge a couple of times. I'm not sure what they got, but trades & contracts are weird they don't add up a lot of times & can vary a lot Chase Claypool comes to mind for Wr & Amari Cooper comparetive very lopsided both the NFC North teams ended up on the right though. Guaranteed money can get confusing also. I don't think Tee is getting traded if they're not getting the value they want they will just take a compensitory pick or try to sign him. That's prolly what they should do. Him & his agent aren't helping though asking for a trade when you just got a enormous bag 20 million+. I not a fan of it at all. It's like upside down politics we live in these days he should be celebrating not complaining about getting 20million for 1yr 🤮
Khalil Mack in his prime when he was a top 3 edge rusher got traded 🤔
There is no metric that supports the view that Brian Burns as a top 20 let alone a top 5 pass rusher last year.
Didn’t the Rams offered 2 first round picks for Brian Burns last year
Yeah they did. Fitterer fucked us over so hard.
i have no problem with the franchise tag, but have to get rid of the fine. a player should be able to hold out if they want, and can play on the tag if the want.
Knowing the Bengals they're going to keep Higgins, unless a huge offer comes down the pipe...
The drafts full of talented receivers we're not going to get that type of offer for Higgins.
look how many 'top receivers' in the draft fail miserably
Can they afford to?
Trade him. 1000 yds and 7 tds aint worth $30 mil/yr.
He messed up. Burns didn't get enough because Carolina screwed up. That's the element here that makes his point about Tee's worth unreasonable. Something ultimately is worth what someone is willing to pay for them.
in regards to about 3:30 Burrow being out and Higgins having a down year don't necessarily coincide. A well known HoF player once said that a good WR will produce numbers, no matter who is throwing the ball. Its the bad WRs that can only put numbers up with good QBs, because its the QBs skill that is actually picking up their slack. If George Pickens can put up 1000 with 3 3rd string QBs, He is gonna be good anywhere. If he only had like 700, like Dionte Johnson did, that's a different story. A lot of these WRs have a little bit too big of a head because of what their QBs can do, and not what they can actually do.
This sucks to hear as a Texans fan. I really wanted the Texans to trade for him and sign Tyler Boyd as well.
I think the burns - tyreek argument is what you’re also forgetting is receiver is more replaceable than edge rusher. Look at how many receivers are coming in the draft on a yearly base. It just makes the value of them go down because there’s more of them. Rookie deals lead to the value worth less for WRs.
all the talking heads need to realize: it is NOT up to the Bengals to trade him...
Tee and his agent need to go find a trading partner and send the deal to
the Bengals for approval..... It is on their shoulders, not the Bengals.... He is
making the tag rate of what, $21 million? poor baby....
So, Tee and his agent find a trade partner and send the deal to our Front Office..
I think one team could be the Pats? trade their 2nd round pick for Tee... that
would be fair.... simple!! find the deal/deals and send them in for approval..
We (the Bengals) are in a good position here defo.....
A second for Tee tho!?! Like "oh here's your pick back for Higgins" ...like he was never there!?!
@@clintonmiller5495would you rather get your pick back or let him walk for nothing? Lmao

no draft pick is a sure thing until they prove they are a sure thing in the NFL. Tee Higgins is a proven thing, you take proven commodity over potential.
A 1st rounder is fine
Hey C.B(Chris Ballard)…. Go get Higgins, pair him with Pittman downs and Pierce and give A.R15 a lethal receiving corp!!! That offense would be unstoppable!
He is worth the number 15 pick!
no REAL quarterback there.
@@rpevans64 wait.. are you talking about AR? How is he not a real qb?
Higgins was a top 10 WR but is now at best a top 20 WR. As for a 3rd round DP, that's just funny.
It is a first and a player or he plays out the year. Dude on the left is out to lunch. Nobody wants to pay that price? He plays.
WR are like running back. They are replaceable every year, like running back.
Saying the Panthers should have gotten a higher pick for Burns invalidates the argument for Higgins being a late 2nd to early 3rd round trade value.
Trade him to Arizona for 4th overall for 18th overall and likely 2nd this year and next year and draft Marvin Harrison Jr.
Did this guy say Tee is top 30ish WR? Lol. And that Burns is more valuable? Oh boy

The narrative of the bengals are cheap is lazy. They spent over 200 mil in the last couple season on the defense alone. I love tee, met him personally at a bar and is a very humble kid but the money he’s looking for is not likely due to his injuries
a bad team will pay him with a rookie contract qb will pay him gladly
Be appreciative cause my team has suffered with low/mid tier receivers for a Decade. I’m sure patriots will gladly pay him his money and treat him with all the respect he deserves.
He gonna get tagged this year the tag will be too expensive next season and he will sign elsewhere. This season is all or nothing for the Bengals

bengals aren't winning it with the defense they have. should trade for a 2nd, and could even draft a receiver in the first or second to compliment chase this year.
Bengals is the only team in the NFL who only offer only one year guaranteed contract and sign minimum contracts in the majority of free agency and barley has any depth in any position
Top 20 or 30? TEE is clearly 15 to 10.
Clearly?
The wr position is stacked. Hard to say he’s definitely better than guys like Puka, g Wilson, D Smith, waddle, moore, Evans, Keenan, dk. None of those guys are even tier 1 or 2

All you guys are talking about is what the Bengals want. Yes they can franchise him but just for this year. If they don't sign him he walks next year and the Bengals get nothing.
They can franchise tag him again next year if they want to
He won't hold out on burrow
Franchise tag only exists to keep QBs from leaving small market teams who draft them. It wasn't meant for what it is used as today. Not fair to keep a position like WR with a short prime.
Life isn’t fair.
That's not how the franchise tag has been used for a very long time and the NFLPA agreed to the system when they reached the last collective bargaining agreement. There's nothing unfair about keeping a player under contract for 1 additional year and giving them a fully guaranteed top 5 salary at their position. That's mutually beneficial. Tee is fully guaranteed to make over double his entire rookie contract in a single season. If they tagged him twice, it's essentially the same as him getting a 2 yr - 50 million dollar deal fully guaranteed. Michael Pittman of the Colts just got 3 years 70 million with 46 million guaranteed. If Tee gets tagged twice, he's the clear economic winner over Pittman because he's getting more guaranteed money over less time. You're likely just butthurt that your favorite team can't try to sign him.
@@forcealchemist2603 So tee goes out and doesn't have a great year or hers hurt is he gonna get the same deal Pittman got? No. Don't be shallow let's be honest here it's not what it was designed to do. Saying the PA agreed to something is irrelevant. The owners have way more power and you know that.
WOW !! stupidest thing I ever heard in my life. Are you really that much of a half-wit, or are you just trolling ?
2:28 lol trading Higgins-a player whose value against the spread is *at most* half a point-wouldn’t drop their SB odds by 40%. If anything, plugging in one of these round 2 WRs (or better) plus the additional draft capital and cap savings would yield a team w/ fewer weak links (thus raising their floor…for both this year and future seasons).
And fwiw their current probability of winning the SB isn’t 10%, more like 6.5-7%
Cincy should trade him but they won’t bc their front office is stuck in 1998 😆
Theres not single rookie with 0 NFL play time, that I would take over Tee Higgins. No chance.
@@TheyCallMeRabbit98 I respect your opinion however I don’t necessarily agree. BUT, more importantly, they don’t have to; you can replicate Tee’s production in the aggregate. Trading Higgins yields picks and 20 mil to use on FA. With an additional 1st rd pick and/or multiple day 2 picks, you have plenty of capital to move up and down the draft board when needed. Supplement your draft picks by adding in free agency.
Football is a sport of weak-link systems, history shows us that minimizing weak links w/ good-not-great, cost-controlled talent is usually a better strategy than the ‘stars & JAGs’ approach. Case in point: the Patriots and Chiefs dynasties

NFL players want to make good money, but the bengals are cheap and only give average contracts at best and cheap most of the time
Yo dingleberry, you DO realize that the Bengals have been in the top half of spending EVERY year for about twenty years right? And top ten for more than most of those years. And that was even before Zac Taylor became head coach and they started hitting free agency so hard. The cheap label was put on them by a few half-witted media clowns, because they didn't used to spend big in free agency, for the big media names, choosing instead to extend their own players.
Yeah cheap...that's why the Bengals have always been in the top half of the league in spending, (top ten quite often). And that's why they've made multiple players the top paid at their positions over the years including Joe Burrow being the top paid in the entire league (I think Palmer might have held that distinction for a while as well). But you go on believing your own HALF-WITTED bullshit DINGLEBERRY.
Tee is being traded to Minnesota for jefferson

The only player NOT overrated on the Bengles is Jamar chase snd hes walking a fine fine rn himself, these are the most Inconsistent "Superstars" ive ever seen, Burrow hansr ever finished above QB9 Overall, due to slow starts and season eneding Injuries and that's definitely a problem not talked about enough. Higgins Agent will not deal with the Bengals. That is what is mostly going on. I hope they trade him.
The Bengals will not deal with Higgins agent. That's why.
The Bengals get plenty of contracts done with agents. This particular agent is known for expecting top dollar and guarantee money that the Bengals do not give out. The agent is clearly looking for Tee to get top dollar at the position but yet he’s not stayed healthy missing nine games the last few years. So I’m sure they’re not gonna sign him for 30 million like he’s probably asking
@@user-oh3qp2kl3b He dismisses the Bengals. He does not deal with the Bengals on free agents. Period. He has to with draft picks. But he will always move his players out of Cincy. He poisons the water every time.
Mulugheta doesn’t care about the success his players have on the field other than individually. Cincy typically lets players play out their whole contracts especially big ones so they aren’t paying someone top dollar to play somewhere else which they believe justifies not guaranteeing huge sums which is the hang up DM thinks tee should get 25+ and 50+ guaranteed and it’s not happening so after this year or the next Tee will sign with some shit team for a big payday and never sniff the numbers he has here or the playoffs. He will get cut after two or three years and ride out the rest of his career as a journeyman. So I hope he gets over the fact they are giving him 21.8 million this year for a shot at a championship. That way he can look back on his career and not feel like he just did it for money.
Mulugheta is a greedy man
