- You wake up at an abandoned train station in Krat, a city overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust. In front of you lies a single note that reads:
"Find Mr. Geppetto. He's here in the city."
Play as Pinocchio, a puppet mechanoid, and fight through everything in your path to find this mystery person. But don't expect any help along the way and don't make the mistake of trusting anyone.
You must always lie to others if you hope to become human.
Inspired by the familiar story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is an action souls-like game set in a cruel, dark Belle Époque world. All of humanity is lost in a once beautiful city that has now become a living hell filled with unspeakable horrors. Lies of P offers an elegant world filled with tension, a deep combat system and a gripping story. Guide Pinocchio and experience his unrelenting journey to become human.
The timeless tale of Pinocchio has been reimagined with dark and striking visuals.Set in the fallen city of Krat, Pinnochio desperately fights to become human against all odds.
The city of Krat was insipired by the Belle Époque Era in Europe (late 19th Century to the early 20th Century) and is the epitome of a collapsed city bereft of prosperity.
Experience interconnected procedural quests that play out depending on how you lie. These choices will then affect how the story ends.
You can combine weapons in a multitude of ways to create something new altogether. Research to find the best combinations and make something truly special.
With Pinocchio being a doll, you can change parts of his body to gain new skills and hopefully an edge in battle. But not all of the enhancements are for fighting though, they can also provide several other unique and useful features.

4 hours for a demo is crazy impressive. it shows so much confidence in their product. im always warry to spend $70 on a new game but this demo won me over

@Josh I'm with you, love this game but I'm still not pre-ordering and will even wait for day 1 reviews incase it's a buggy mess. But as long as launch goes clean for 24 hrs they'll have my money. Even from soft with elden ring didn't get a pre order outta me 😂
@@jadenkootenay8549 Same here. 24 hours after launch, and they will be getting my money. The demo looks sick though. If they just keep the quality of the demo throughout the whole game, it's a done deal. Looks great from an indie studio. We may finally get something good out of Korea :D
@@jadenkootenay8549 elden ring was my first souls game ever. I got it the day it came out on console and didn't look back. Only reason I bought it was because GRRM wrote the story lol. Idk if I will wait the 24 hours. I think I'm gonna base my purchase off this demo and get it when it does drop. Haven't had this much fun playing a game since elden ring so fingers crossed

@@cisafrulli wow someone's really just hating for no reason. its completely unfair to compared to a master piece like bloodborne to a indi game studio, especially when this demo showed a lot to be excited for. being able to mix and match weapon parts for different stats and special moves. a skill tree for perks and abilities. a combat system where weapon parry is viable allowing choice between dodge, block or parry. the healing system allowing you to earn back a flask. a hub zone with customizable music. so dont just be a hater and say "what's unique about this" because it kind of shows you either didn't play the demo or just didn't pay attention

@@guapnarothereaper3161 Bloodborne is a masterpiece and one of my top 3 games ever so lies if p have some big shoes to fill but in all honesty lies of p is a pretty dope ass game I really liked the new mechanics and if you're a souls fan you will definitely enjoy this game imo 👍🏻

Also finished it. Thank God there's an improved dodge because the base dodge and roll are pretty awful. Definitely a lot of thought has gone into it - looks like a ton of builds can be made. Hope we see a lot more enemy variety. Maps are decent but enemy placement is a little ugh. The feel for me is a hybrid of Spiders and Fromsoft. Not bad at all but lacking fluidity in what we've seen so far. Jury is still out on this but no denying the aesthetic.
This has to be the first game that actually feels like a fromsoft title. Nobody has been able to get it, but these guys nailed the feel. Totally has the ambience and finesse of bloodborne. Shortcuts in level design seem excellent as well. I want to play more

Agreed, when anyone describes what makes a soulslike they always point to the check point progression system, the stamina based combat, the obscure item description lore and the like, but they never point to the feel of the combat and Lies of P really gets the feeling right. I felt like games like Thymesia, or Code Vein just felt off.
Agreed. If someone told me fromsoft worked on this themselves, I’d believe it. I mean damn, they even got the cryptic ass story telling down as well 😂😂😂!
@@craigh2234 hard disagree on that one there. Nioh feels like nioh and I can honestly say that the UI, loot system, level design, lack of variety in enemies, completely unfair enemy placement, underwhelming missions, reused locations from the first installment in the second and grindy nature makes those titles suck. I know it has a cult following but it's not a get good mentality. It's simply not fun. It's inspired by Fromsoft sure...but it's not even close.

Idk if the only to notice this but at 19:23 Cowboy got a perfect counter/parry and then after he attacked, he gained some health after that. Maybe this is like recovering flasks in Elden Ring but it's instant health.
no thats actually like bloodborne's health recovery after dammage, but you can only recover the chip dammage from blocks

Cowboy, just wanted to say your videos got me through sekiro in 2019 when I was about to give up. I saw what I was doing wrong with it by watching your videos and saw how great the game could be if I played it like the game wanted me to instead of like dark souls. It became one of my favorite games after that, thank you sir

Been loving this demo. Haven’t got to the end yet. But the fact that using gestures toward certain people gives u certain items is awesome. Showing off ur clothes to the woman that gives u clothes is awesome and different

@@GameOverMan76 I haven't, but fair enough. And yeah, the more impressions that have filtered through, the more experienced Soulsborne players seem to be saying it's closer to Sekiro with the perfect block mechanic standing in for parrying than Bloodborne's flow. Cheers!

Definitely interested in this and am planning on grabbing it day one, but I will admit the enemies are way more like typical enemies in terms of difficulty of other games compared to soul-like games.
I’m really enjoying this. A definite buy for me. I know @fightincowboy will definitely make a walkthrough for this. Once I got to the boss at the end of Act 1, I was getting caught under the bosses feet and felt trapped even though I wasn’t up against a wall or anything. I feel like the dodging in combat could be lengthened a little bit.
Yeah it was the same for me too. It looked like you could go under its feet but no you just stuck. Died 2-3 times to that boss and then I bought that electrify thingy at the shop and it was the easiest boss ever (pretty awesome tho).
That's why they have a block and parry in this, I believe they want you to use both because once I stopped trying to dodge everything it came into focus for me. That's probably why the dodge isn't as reliable as other souls games

Since FromSoft is to busy with other projects and Somy doesn’t seem to really care, this scratches the itch for a Bloodborne…like with 60fps+ 4k.

Wow this unapologetically rips Bloodborne. The menus, the way the character stands with his sword, the attack motions, everything. I'm still downloading.
Hey cowboy you should check out the other classes, in my opinion the Dex class is really good also the perfect guard not only negates damage but it breaks the enemy’s weapon.

I think the animations for the big sword look cool wondering now how other weapons functions but it seems it gone be lit
The rapier is insanely OP imo, probably gonna make it my main weapon when the game comes out. The attack animations are super fast and it's much more responsive than the great sword, it also does a crazy amount of damage and breaks enemy posture very easily.

I have to say the weapon assembly system is gonna be epic. It makes it to where you can attach any blade to a hilt and it changes the way you attack. I know that's obvious but think when you add boss weapons and shiz to the mix.

My only issue is when locked on you can't actually roll. I found myself doing better by not locking on.
Played this last night and got to the first boss and died several times. Had a blast and will play the demo until I beat it.
