    Just a note for anyone doing this, the bolt holding the steering wheel is made to last 5 uses, so you removing it and installing it back again counts as two. Just to keep in mind.

      @@static1890 bro my golf mk6 highline has a multi function steering wheel with the shifters but the right side of the steering wheel (right shifter+right buttons) does not turn on and doesn't work at all.
      While the left side is working perfect(left shifter+left buttons).
      Do you have any idea if I have to change the module ( the chip under the steering wheel) or I have to change the right buttons?
      I just don't know where are the shifter gets connected, is it the same cable with the function buttons? Or is it connected to the module?

      Yes, my car had before wiper stalker switch with buttons to move in menu. If your car has same set, then most likely you have menu option. I had to change my previous wiper stalker switch to non-button wiper stalker, as there can be conflict between MFSW buttons and wiper stalker buttons. In my understanding there are differences between instrument clusters, so if you don't have menu, then you should start to look proper instrument cluster.

    Just wondering if you maybe know. If I replace a mk6 tdi multifunction round steering wheel for a mulitfication button flat steering wheel. Would it be a straight swap or would I still need additional parts?

    • @lutz6441
      @lutz6441  Před 4 lety

      If you have steering wheel with similar button layout and functionality (most likely you have), then this should be straight swap without additional parts.

    Can you retrofit multifunction steering wheel with MFD (multifunction display) and not MFD+ (when you open door MFD+ will show you image of the car along with which door is open. MFD only shows indicator on the dash board)? If not I can imagine it can make it more difficult and expensive as probably whole dashboard has to be swapped (perhaps more coding/new contract unit?)

    • @lutz6441
      @lutz6441  Před 4 lety

      Yes, it can be so and then you will need to swap gauge cluster to MFD+ one.

    Amazing video. To the point. Just one question. I have trendline Golf. Super basic. Basic MFD, no factory Bluetooth, nothing. I do have RCD330 like yours, which works amazing. My question is, does all buttons on steering wheel work? Does Mic button work for CarPlay and Android Auto? The up down and back button on the right side, do they work? If yes, what do they do? Considering I have basic MFD, just wondering what they do.

    Hi please help me. So I have the same original steering wheel as you and am looking at the scirocco 2011 mf steering wheel. Will the air bag from my old one fit? They look it but my dads friend said t won’t? Thankyou soooooo much for the help

    • @lutz6441
      @lutz6441  Před 6 lety

      Most of the sciroccos have flat bottom steering wheel (with or without MF) and if you have same original steering wheel as me, then your airbag will fit to 2011 scirocco MFSW.

      @@lutz6441 Hello, THANKS a 1000 times for the video. Is it mandatory to replace the sw control module? And if not, where is that for? I don't know whether I need to replace, sw control module, sleep ring, wiper switch stalker... Any help would be appreciated alot!

    • @lutz6441
      @lutz6441  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, you should change the sw control module to highline version one, also therefore you should change slip ring. Stalker needs to replace, when you have stalker with menu butttons - you have to change stalker to non-buttons one as they go to conflict when you have buttons in both steering wheel and stalker.

    I have been trying to work out how to do this for a long time. I got a 2014 VW Jetti TDi value edition and this was about the only thing I was missing. The only question I have is the software you used, is it required, what is it and how hard to get /run?

      I use VCDS 15.7 software and I ordered it from Aliexpress more than 5 years ago (~10€). Now they sell 19.* versions. Basically VCDS works with all VAG group cars and you can find many tutorials for the beginners in youtube. Yes, it is required when you retrofitting new components to your car.
