I have admired the art of that Jaus for years but never committed. I am not even sure it's tarot. When you spread out the ladies-in-flowers cards, it occured to me that it's what you would see if Instagram was rectangles instead of squares. Everybody posting is using the same filter. And it's never going to let you in. Side note: Best card stock of the centennial edition RWS is in the box set. There is a lot of mindfood in this video. Many lovely decks and pairings. Loving the neo psych vibe. Jonasa Jaus was hard work for me in the beginning and I felt it was intriguing but obscure. But something clicked for me recently. I pair it with L'oracle Kami et Yokai, which is fantastical but gives practical advice.. It works best when I have a specific, clear question. It can be very literal and abit left field but it has also made me laugh.....To personify it, I just don't think it wants to be taken too seriously. Also gives a feeling of "whatever you think I am is what I'm not". Not sure this is helpful to you though. Happy Birthday!

The one near me has a cabinet with used tarot decks in the occult/witchcraft books section. You can look at the decks, and open them and see what your getting. I was thinking you could see if there is a Centennial deck in the cardstock you like there. What is the name of the deck with the blue/white star backs? I liked it. Really interesting observations re: the Jonasa Jaus deck. I have it and love the artwork, but like you, I struggle to distinguish the card meanings because the images are so much alike. I also struggle with very busy, chaotic images that just end up as one big clash in my brain. Very generous of Meg to let you have her Solara Occulto deck! I've had the Mercury, Salt, Sulphur on my list for awhile but no luck so far! Really enjoy seeing your collection!
^^ Not "everybody" loves the Jonasa Jaus deck; actually, I think it's so incredibly ugly 😆😆😆. I just can't understand that huge hype about it - and in my opion most images chosen for the deck doesn't tell anything about the meaning of the cards. So I agree with you - I can't imagine, how to read this deck.
Happy Birthday, fellow lovely Cancerian! My birthday was on the 26th. I love the bordered edition of the Solara too. I didn't back the new version either. Someday I will find a bordered edition. I finally purchased The Stunning Tarot in the spring, but the JJ one just doesn't do it for me. It's lovely. I just don't care for the color scheme and it feels shallow to me. All those drawings of cute girls....whatever....LOL. The Mountain Dream Tarot is a treasure in my collection. I'm old, so I relate to the images. LOL! The history of the making of the deck is really cool. I pair it with cards that have words or phrases, very simple. Like The 20th Century Tarot, Inquire Within Oracle....nothing with photos, too colorful or too busy. Wise Animal Body is excellent! The round deck looks great too. You should get yourself the large card version of the Zigeuner. It looks great on an alter. Have fun with your class!
