- Legendary modern electro house producer and mau5trap legend No Mana released his sophomore album ‘I Contain Flashing Images’ on Monstercat Instinct last Thursday, May 30th. 14 full length tracks featuring a heavy list of vocal features as well as collaborations from vowl. and Feed Me, this LP is an electro house lover’s dream. spanning cute 16bit melodies and incredible progression, this 56 minute album is a journey, taking you through No Mana’s sound and exploring each and every crevice of what he does best.
This album is one of the best Monstercat albums released period, not quite trumping Silk legend Nigel Good’s ‘A Little Something’ from the week prior, but this album is still incredible. A 10/10, two more 9/10s and an overall average of 8.21, this is nothing to breeze past. Go take a listen!
this is all my opinion, and i don’t tolerate blatant disrespect towards artists in my comments. by all means you’re allowed to have a least favourite but be respectful about it! don’t be bashing me about the ranking either, it’s not gospel truth and you should enjoy what you want without being judged :D

Theres something about roadburn that I just like. I don't know wether if its the tone lf the vocals that please my brain or the continuously catchy sounds in the backround.
Lost Call joins only another 7 tracks on MC that I consider to be 10/10’s; it is truly a phenomenal track and I’m glad you like it so much.

as for the 2nd part, i hate saying it but i’m kinda just book smart? i’ve been studying a little bit got good grades in mock papers and am banking on my fear of losing information like that to coast me to passing them all 😅

@@zadinx Well tbf at GCSEs being book smart can carry you to some pretty great grades. I’m talking my A-levels rn and as someone who also got through their GCSEs on natural talent alone, I can tell you sixth form hits like a truck for us because it forces us to actually revise lmaooo. But nah if it gets too stressing for you, take a break until you finish your exams, we’re all rooting for you.

this and mr. bill's mechanomorphic are one of my favorite monstercat albums from this year

Spectacular album! Never really was into No Mana's stuff before this (i think tbe only song i listened to was one with Jantine as the vocalist). Regardless, i have been BLASTING this album everywhere i go. Just wonderful.

This is extremely rare for me to like an entire LP, i'm very picky about my music taste LMAO
However, i genuinely think that this is the first time i'm liking the entirety of a LP. I swear, all of these sounds godly it's incredible. No Mana has to be one of my favorite music producer now
my favorite is falling in love. and i dont think it gets much above a 3/10. safe to say i dreaded this album and glad its over. respectfully

honestly, well deserved #1, however ecstatic and irresponsible couldve been higher, and so as for underwater.
E&I did grow on me, it’d be just above Hopeless if i were to re-rank :)

Actually this comp was mid, only I really enjoy Falling In Love and Hopeless which are both 70/100, most of the tracks are below 50/100

I have no idea why so many people like Luxor Aeterna. Okay, I get it, it's dark, but what else? I don't think this is as listenable as other tracks, and it just feels too different from the album. I'm not even talking about that section where Leyla does a good performance but it gets shattered by the higher notes. I'm not saying that you should stop liking it, but for me, it's easily the worst.
the unique atmosphere and progression of the track do contribute to my higher score
it starts out more conventional i guess and then the part at the end, i just enjoy it for whatever reason. transitions well into Garage17 too
Honestly, huge hot take, but I find this album overrated. Hopeless is the best here but even that isn't even that amazing. Roadburn is my new least favorite Monstercat song of 2024, and a couple other songs here are close to that too. A lot of these songs are a snoozefest for me or just sound too off or too 8-bit. Also these songs get repetitive fast and they grow off me after more listens, so that doesn't help either. Unfortunately, not a good album, and the worst so far this year.
Edit: I meant this is Monstercat's worst album so far, not the worst album ever lol
While not the worst, I can agree with the sentiment. My favorites off the Album were Hopeless, digital friends, and justify. The singles were solid but the new songs didn’t really deliver aside from Hopeless. This is unlike say Bishu’s album where the singles were meh in my opinion, but I really enjoyed some of the new songs like Diva, third person, and idk Y
@@renzstudios649 I totally agree with what you said, the newer tracks from the album felt so empty and rushed and they didn't turn out the best for me. Hopeless is actually starting to grow on me the more I listen to it though. The other albums from this month had really good songs, for example DIVA and Severe, but none of the other No Mana tracks seemed that good. The singles were fine I guess, but eventually I got bored of most of them after some listens.
i’ve spoken to many other friends who enjoy the album and it may be that they just like progressive house like this and others don’t
i look for a little bit of narrative, cool progression and production quality in stuff like this and the boxes were all ticked, though i really really enjoy electro house to begin with

@@zadinxYeah, I do have to give credit where it is due. These songs are very well made. I also enjoy Electro House, however these are too repetitive or just not for my taste. I don't really think this is that bad of an album, just alright.
