I love his demeanor and I can't stress with growing up in the sport with him since he and Rick was riding all that time together in Kansas City how much they have meant to me. Rick was in my expert class in the afa when Denis was pro but it was never as he said very competitive but going on doing what you can and enjoying yourself. Now with all the money on the line, people are training hard for that dollar of thousands of dollars now instead of just $500 for first place for the top pros. A lot has changed for sure.

Grew up in KC. Dennis would let kids ride his ramps in his back yard. Then the Haro van would show up and we amateurs had to vacate and watch the pros do it. Cool experience.

On my 50th last August I went to the skate park (still have my 1980's mark1 gt pro performer). I walked through the gate, slipped over and sprained my ankle.
