    Instead of praising great performances, half of the comments is full of bitterness against Femke and talking about Sidney, a person who is not even in the race. Its sad that the polarization going on in the world is even affecting athletics. Anyone actually interesting in ahtletics and not just nationalism or fighting for your favourite, could see Femkes talent and amazingly smooth running style. Looks really effortless. Does that mean Sidney is not an exceptionally good athlete, of course not, shes the world record holder...

      I am so sick of Sydney fans bombarding every comment section of videos where Femke races with aggressive and bitter comments. I just don't see the same aggressiveness from Femke fans, certainly not nearly to the same extent. It's been the same with every video of Jakob Ingebrigtsen lately, just hordes of people bringing up Hocker and Kerr in races they weren't even a part of and insulting Jakob in one way or another. It's been pissing me off so much. What are we? Fucking toddlers? What's so hard about appreciating outstanding performances without constantly throwing shade on other athletes? I'll never understand the people only cheering for athletes from their home country.

    In the Olympics Bol did not run her race - it was obvious she focused on racing Sydney and not sticking to her race tested normal strategy. Bol would have gotten second if she ran her race. Bol is not used to being the underdog and the different mindset caused her bad race. Bol is amazing and fun to watch, she still has room to get better but so does Sydney. More fireworks to come from both.

      This is probably why she can’t win when it matters-racing too much and not winning will cause her not to have fresh legs. Stop running mixed relays because that’s a waste of Femke’s legs no one cares about the mixed relay. If Boi keeps this up, she will never beat Sydney or Cockrell. Racing a lot and not winning is a lose-lose; it doesn’t make sense. Race smart like Sydney, a two-time gold medalist, and multi-world record holder, not two bronze. Constantly losing at the Worlds and Olympic meets, maybe it’s time for her to change coaches. Indoor doesn’t count because none of the elite athletes like Paulino, Sydney, and Bolt run indoors. After all, no one cares about indoor times. So that record she holds is a joke. If Paulino ran 400 meters indoors, she would have the world record easily, so stop.

    • @ToadStool125
      @ToadStool125 Před 17 dny

      doesn't matter about anti doping control, the very best and most famous athletes are working with coaches who network with PED manufacturers who stay ahead of anti doping control - you can't fail a ped test if the substance you're taking is not tested for. Also, even if sydney failed a drug test, it would just be swept under the rug like Carl Lewis' 2.5 decades ago since every single person makes more money from her not being caught - sponsor deals, the PED makers, the committees who organise the events since people pay to see her run etc etc so it's default to assume that even with a failed test they would keep it quiet.
      Besides that, sydney also doesn't need to race for money, exposure, and risk getting injured for it, nor does she need to then start flying between countries every week either so even from a non drug taking standpoint, it makes sense anyway (I say this as someone who believes that sydney as well as every other single top pro athlete, think pretty much everyone below top 30 in the world minimum, uses PEDs at some points in their season even if they taper it off before major competitions)

Salmon and Clayton are fine athletes. Any competitor running close to 53 seconds is in contention for first place. Russell and Knight are under 54 seconds. All the ladies were under 56 seconds which is strong and world class. Femke Bol finished this race strong the last 2 hurdles and down the home stretch well through the finish line.

    In my opinion.. The main reason why Sydney fans seem more vocal than Bol fans is because Sydney isn't given the respect that her talent deserves by the commentary teams ( Eurosport / BBC). Have a listen back to how they were waxing lyrical about the "showdown" between both athletes at the Olympics Finals. It was almost laughable and felt like a "Media Femke Bol Fan Club".
    The Fact is that they are not in the same racing area codes. After the race they claimed universally that Bol didn't run "her" race etc. I watched todays race and the commentators were back to the same old "gushing " about how "She's put the demons of Paris behind her" .."Its the freshest she's looked since she ran in the mixed relay". Now here's the SHOCKER.. Look at her times from both races... Olympic Final... 52:15 / Silesia Diamond League ..52.13. ( The race times don't lie )
    Now you tell me how could she have run so "badly" in the Olympics and sooo well today with only 00.02 improvement ? On her race win time today she would have still gotten Bronze in Paris.
    If I can see that then how can't the commentators see it UNLESS there is an agenda to create some imaginary competition between Femke and Sydney.
    Femke Bol is a great athlete ( by the rest of the competition on her level ) but she is no where near Sydney's level in this event. Every celebration of her should be in context and not elevated to rivalry status cos that's almost insulting. ) Imagine if Sydney had run today? The MR would be 50.something.
    Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is a Class apart from the rest of the field just like Usain Bolt was or Armand Duplantis is right now and should be afforded the same level of respect and fanfare because when she races there are 2 races in one. 1) Sydney vs the Clock / 2) The Others.
    I get why there is a muted fanfare around her but the fact that she is a Strong Advocate for her Religious Beliefs shouldn't diminish the Commetary about how much of a world apart she is. That's her personal choice. That's just my 2 cents

    • @DexterGordon-dr8qd
      @DexterGordon-dr8qd Před 16 dny

      That is just how reporters work... Have you heard how the American commentators waxed lyrical about McLaughlin when she had run 52.70 in her first race in Atlanta and beaten a field of 56+ runners? They talked about her as if the holy virgin mariah had come back to earth... And do you really want us to celebrate by saying each time: "well done Femke, and euhm remember Sydney wasn't here...". You know that that is not how it works brother. If Sydney wants to be celebrated, she should run. Simple as that.
