  • My swingarm bolt was rusted in place. I am not sure it has ever been off the bike. When light tapping on the end of the bolt showed no results, I went to this method. It took some time, but I got that sucker out.

Holy shit man thank you so much I’m gonna have to try this tomorrow. After busting my knuckles about 10 times and spending like 5 hours trying to beat it out using a brass punch and hammer I was ready to give up lol.

Dude! I went to oreillys today after watching your video. It was STUCK I beat the tar out of it. Was ready to snap! Then I did your deal. I took my time, took about an hour to get 10 full threads. Ran that 1/2-13 bolt in with 4-5 sockets holding it and sure enough she started easing out. Got it out perfect. Thanks SO MUCH!

I am so glad it worked. I don't have much "spare" money, so I always need to come up with creative ways to get things done. This worked really well for me too. I cleaned up my bolt really well, and now I take it out every year and re-grease it. CHEERS!

Your way of doing it worked for me, I did have to go to the other side with a brass punch and hit and then go and pull with the bolt and socket method and finally got it out, thanks your idea saved my butt!!!!!!!

Mine stripped out the threads. Luckily a friend had a hydraulic press and that solved the problem. Weirdly, a few turns of the bolt in emery paper and some grease made everything fit back together very smoothly. Corrosion, huh!

When the 20 ton press doesn’t move it, Cutting it is the only way.
I used a harbor freight air hacksaw.
Zip tie trigger open and prop it up where it’s resting on the exposed bolt. Let it eat for 15 minutes. It cut straight and only damage the engine case a little. I thought steel frame Honda’s and stuck swing arm bolts would be my legacy....😂😂. Grease that bolt And linkage 2 twice a year for weekend riders.

Just tried this method and the home depot bolt i used snapped. My swing arm bolt is quite seized.

Did you have a difficult time getting the tap to start initially? I'm not sure if I need to drill the inside of bolt larger. Working on a 2011 yz250f. Bought tap and hardware you recommend.

I know it is a pain but these things need to be taken out every three months and freed up and lubed.Especially after any salt water.

It's an SAE tap 1/2 x13 (whatever that means). I got it at O-Reillys Auto parts store for cheap.

  • @trailbossvideochannel272

This is not leave marks on the frame.

Hi I am having major major problems getting the bolt out of my bike I tried putting a bolt the whole way through and pulling it out that way and it just stripped the threads any ideas?

I don't understand what you mean. Did my method not work? Did you use any kind of rust breaker like PB-Blaster? I have heard of some people needing to CUT the bolt to get it out. I hope you don't have to do that.
