  • These "Combo Explainer" videos will focus on explaining powerful combinations of cards in Fantasy Flight Games's upcoming TCG Star Wars Unlimited. This time, we have a combo Thorrk showed me that allows you to deploy Vader to his unit side on the third turn of the game -- much earlier than you'd otherwise be able to pull this off!

Also works well with cheaper leaders with better value such as Boba

    Here’s one for you:
    Thrawn vigilance
    Greedo + death trooper
4 resources for a for sure 4 damage to enemy units plus a 3/3 body. It’s a solid play to stabilize versus agro or with a little luck go for an early shutdown on turn 2

Ah, interesting! The idea is that you use Thrawn to know for sure that you have a non-unit on top, then play the Death Trooper, defeat your own Greedo, and hit the topdeck ability?

@@TowerNumberNine yeah exactly, and since you’re playing thrawn the opponent is less likely to kill Greedo as soon as you drop him, because of the info you have that they don’t

Adding Admiral Ozzel as the turn 1 drop, would mean you could also pull off the combo with two Super Laser techs (plus resupply), as opposed to one Super Laser Tech and two resupplies. Adds a little more flexibility, but not sure how much the percentage would increase. What do you estimate is the odds of this happening on a game to game basis?

Good point re: Ozzel! I don't know what the odds are of this happening are but I have seen it happen in two or three actual games now... I think you have to be fairly lucky but not insanely lucky, especially if you mulligan for ramp.

I think recruit could be a card in this deck.

The main problem with Recruit is it doesn’t find Resuoply and you want Resupply more than you want Superlaser Tech… also paying 1 means you miss the combo, that said Recruit is quite useful for other situations and can help get Vader out sooner by normal standards even if not on turn three…

I was told you can only take 1 epic action per game
So by using your base’s epic action you no longer can deploy vader because that too is an epic action

No, that's not correct -- you can only use *each* Epic Action once per game.
