Hey, I saw you ask a question about the real Adam and Lucifer from the Bible.. Just to let you know as a Christian I looked into the show.. The show stands on its own with no religion. There is no God or devil in the show. The terms of devil, angel, heaven, and hell are specific to this show with no reference to any religion. The creator of the show wanted it that way as a Christian I can tell you if you're being specific any soul that goes into heaven is an angel and all angels are more powerful than the devil because they're blessed by God. Just me as a Christian being nitpicky.

Alastor had a real shot if he took the fight very seriously from the start.
But let's not forget... that shield Alastor conjured single handedly halted the extermination. And he killed numerous exorcist BY HIMSELF.

Sir Pentious' sacrifice makes absolute sense in the narrative - he is ready to fully sacrifice himself for his friends (fully knowing that Adam could easily destroy his ship like this), kissing Cherri Bomb on the way, thus overcoming his two greatest flaws: his insecurity and his selfishness.
Yes, his death was anticlimatic and handled more like a joke (which fits his character, since the running gag is him just never succeeding), but the fact that he did anyway is what ultimately gets his soul redeemed.
So I think this was actually handled pretty well.
Yes, a beautiful and final moment for the character, leading up to his redemption and making him the first redeemed soul in Hell, proving Charlie right....ahh...
And to boot... A PLOT HOLE THE FUCKING SIZE OF ANGEL DUST'S HOLE. That is, for thousands.... THOUSANDS OF FUCK... Thousands of years of extermination, there was not a single sinner who, during the extermination, would die for someone dear to him, as Sir Pentious did? Or, for example, Carmilla, who could have died from the angel she killed while protecting her daughters for a moment... No one? NOT A SINGLE SOUL IN ALL HELL FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS?....
From the episode "Welcome to Heaven" we know for sure that not a single sinner has ever been redeemed and gone to heaven, if that.
How can we take this seriously now?...
@@anomalio_n-186 I think it's definitely more than just dying for someone you care about. His sacrifice wasn't the only thing that got him into Heaven; he'd been working towards becoming a better person for months. The vast majority of Hell has no desire to change, especially when we look at "Happy Day in Hell." I have a hard time believing that ANY of those folks would sacrifice themselves for someone else, let alone have worked towards redemption and succeeded in becoming a better person leading up to that. Not that there isn't some good in the sinners, but it was stated very explicitly that nobody thought redemption had any point, so it's unlikely anyone cared to become a good person just because. I hardly think it's a plot hole. What Sir Pentious did isn't exactly hard, per se, but it's absolutely unheard of. I'm willing to buy that it's never happened before. There's no reason for it to.

@@anomalio_n-186 Unfortunately since the season was limited to 8 episodes they had to skip over a lot, similarly to how we were shown the result of Angel's growth in episode 6 rather than following his journey, just for the sake of time.

It's the opposite, Alastor never stood a chance against Adam, Alastor is weak compared to the heavy hitters of Heaven and Hell, Adam never once got damaged by Alastor throughout their fight. Alastor can be beaten by the Ars Goetia, 7 Sins, Charlie, Adam, Lilith, Sera etc. Alastor is only strong against other sinners
The only way he could have won is if he took Adam more seriously and used his nonchalance and clear lack of experience against him. Sadly, he got way too confident in his logic and manipulation tactics to avoid being so caught off guard when his staff broke, and that was the nail in the coffin for the fight. Sometimes you don't need skill or strategy when you just have as much raw power as Adam does. Vast distance between the two.
@@StingingNettle47 yes that's true but not even that would have been enough for Adam because Adam could have immediately vaporized Alastor with his angelic Beam.
I personally think Alastor was holding back, since he didn't even use any holy weapons despite being fine with using them against regular angels at the start of the fight. I personally think the deal obligated him to defend the hotel, but also prevented him from actually killing Adam thus forcing him into an unwinnable fight. This would explain why he was so pissed off afterwards, as the deal almost killed him.
We saw many of Alastor's creatures hit and crawl all over Adam. If any of them had angelic daggers, Adam would've been fucked.
@@WebOnion Alastor wasn't holding back, he just wasn't using angelic weapons, but even if he did, that doesn't automatically mean Adam loses, also, Adam was holding back big time, he wasn't using his holy light beam against Alastor

in an interview Vivi says season 2 will focus on the v's mostly on Vox and go back learning what more things started his and Alastor's rivalry and that the reveal of what Lilith has been doing with be a slow burn throughout the seasons
I really enjoy Vox. He's such a cool design and his personality is both hilarious and unhinged. It's so interesting. I especially like his interplay with Alastor, but also with Valentino. Can't wait for season 2 with more of the Vees!

Alastor is only important among sinners, ijbol. He's a small fish if you consider hell as whole.
My favorite character is Alastor. There isn't a single character that they didn't flesh out competently in my opinion, which is impressive, but he keeps getting more fascinating.
I think he's just the most interesting because out of everyone, his motivations and history is still so up in the air. We have no idea what went down in that 7 year gap, we know he sold his own soul (which makes me wonder what caused him to feel that desperate more than who owns his soul), and although his intentions seem so sinister I still feel like there's a part of him that genuinely cares for the others, even if it's only nifty or charlie

What I find interesting is how many people assumed Alastor was stronger than Adam.
Adam was the first man, as Lilith was the first woman...In the established hierarchy of hell Lilith and Charlie are just under Lucifer. So, thinking Alastor could beat Adam is like thinking he could beat Lilith or Charlie.
Also easter eggs:
1) When Lucifer caught Charlie and she caught Adams strike with a demonic arm, that was actually a call back to her OG design where one of her arms was monstrous like that.
2) In the news broadcast after the battle, when the extermination day cancelled thing is shown on a big screen on a street, centre bottom facing the screen is the back of one of Vivzies characters, who was originally Angels brother. (not shown in your video due to editing but cool to have a look at on the actual episode)
For two, I mean it's possible that he still _is_ ANgels brother and this was just a first glimpse at him. We have seen Angels SIster as well, after all
Another fun one during the news broadcast, the ticker ribbon reads "When is season 2 gonna come out?"
7:33 now, I’ve seen a lot of people react to this part like crazy before…but I’ve never heard someone gag about it before. It actually sounds like you were about the throw up in disgust about Alastor’s voice 😂😂😂
SO much to unpack in the finale! One of the more interesting theories floating around to explain Lucifer's late arrival to the battle & possibly why he even allowed the exterminations to take place to begin with, was that he struck up some sort of compromise with heaven. He would stay their way & not interfere, on the condition that they would leave the hell-born alone, tying in with what Lute said to Charlie in episode 1 "-Daddy gave you and you're hell-born kind a pardon from an exorcist's blade." But, the moment that Charlie's life came under direct threat, the deal broke, & Lucifer was finally free to go HAM on thier ass!
That war was absolutely crazy. Especially when Charlie started using her true powers and Lucifer showed up. I'm proud of Sir Pentious. His sacrifice will never be forgotten. And he proved Charlie right, that a soul CAN be redeemed into Heaven.

@@anomalio_n-186We don’t know the specific reasons that Sir Pentious was redeemed and accepted into Heaven, because it was never explicitly stated. It’s very possible that a sinner has to both act in virtuous ways AND believe that they actually have a chance to be redeemed into Heaven. Think of it as similar to the Christian idea of redemption (considering the Heaven and Hell in the show are pretty much the Christian Heaven and Hell). In Christianity, there are essentially 2 main requirements for Heaven: 1. Accept Jesus as your lord/savior and believe you can be saved, and 2. Be a good person, i.e. don’t sin.
(I am not a Christian, just FYI, so Christians can correct me if those reqs are wrong).
I think a lot of fans were too cocky about alastors powers like he was himself. He's still just an Overlord. The Ars Goetia, Seven Deadly Sins, Lilith, Lucifer and Charlie already overpower him as is. Adam is the leader of the angelic armies and first mortal soul of heaven, probably comparable to lilith. Alastor never stood a chance and the second Adam used magic he won.

@@shoulderBirbI don't think that would have helped much because Adam was holding back quite a bit. He could have used an angelic beam and immediately vaporized Alastor.
@@shoulderBirb I figure it's one of two reasons - for some reason, he couldn't, perhaps due to the constraints of his deal, or he was just too narcissistic to think he'd need them.

I wish Sir Pentious actually managed to do something before Adam destroyed his blimp, and that Charlie got to do a bit more in the fight in general, but those are more nitpicking than anything. And in episode 7, I don't have much to complain about. I love what Sir Pentious was trying to do, and I really wanted to see Adam get hit by the death ray as the only time it ever does anything before it got destroyed. I feel like it would've rounded out the war machine obsession he had, with it finally doing something.
But in honor is his noble sacrifice, Long Live Sir Repentious!

I am so interested where this Storyline goes. Sera is clearly _appaled_ by this, like everything she has said is crumbling around her ears, but how can she keep it under wraps? She would have to imprison or silence Pentious _and_ keep Emily from spilling the beans, 'cause she is clearly elated about this.
Can Pentious in any way contact Hell to tell Charlie that she is friggin right? Maybe Emily can help him, maybe even behind Seras back, which could lead to the therozed possible falling of Emily.

Well, the working theory is that he couldn't fight the angels until they hurt a hellborn, in this case Charlie. In episode 1, Lute mentions that they're exempt from the extermination. Likely Lucifer's deal to allow the extermination meant he couldn't interfere until the angels broke the deal first.

I think the sir pentious death was supposed to be a joke, in fact it was the one that vivy likes the most from the episode. They made it a joke since they knew sir pentious was gonna be alive in heaven anyways is what vivy said.
Also yeah, Charlie made it seem like his sacrifice impacted the outcome of the battle, but i think what charlie meant is she was sad that someone from the hotel died and that she could have prevented it as we can see she is blaming herself ( its what i got from her lines ).
Sir Pentious actually followed Adam's list of requirements to get into Heaven
He acted selfless(he died to protect his friends)
He didn’t steal
And he stuck it to the man(Adam himself)
@@amatueraceva1319 I think there is also a little more to it. Because by confessing to Cherri Bomb he also overcame one of his major flaws, his insecurity. I think overcoming your flaws and acting selflessly are major components for redemption here... perhaps being doused in holy angelic light could also be a component, as that was what killed him and what then immediately resurrected him ?
I really love how this show shows how "protecting" heaven did so much more damage then doing nothing wouldve done..

Very happy to see someone else whose favourite character is Husk! I agree Keith David is phenomenal but the character of Husk himself also still has so much to him that hasn't been touched on in this season.
First of all his past, I mean he was an OVERLORD himself once, and somehow lost it all to Alastor? The wording he uses when sharing his past with Angel is so beautiful but also kinda dances around what really happened. Visually, we see Husk participating in some kind of gamble against Alastor and losing everything. However, what Husk is *telling* us is that he struck a *deal* with Alastor. What are the specifics of this deal?? In Loser, baby, Husk sings "I sold my soul to save my power". What kind of power is Husk referring to here? Is it just what we've already seen? His moves with the cards and exploding dice? Or is there something we haven't seen yet?
In fact I have questions about Alastor's reasons for making this deal as well. From Mimzy, we hear he's been taking out Overlords since he arrived, yet he keeps Husk around? Allegedly forces him to work in the hotel (since Husk already told us Alastor was forcing him, back in ep 1), but why? What does Alastor gain from forcing Husk to work as a bartender? Obviously there's many mysteries surrounding Alastor's plans and motivations, but since Husk is my favourite character this is the one I'm most intrigued with personally.
But other than his past and deal with Alastor, there's other small things you'll notice if you pay attention to Husk. First of all, he's absolutely an alcoholic. Tells Angel he won't find a solution at the bottom of a bottle, that he's "been looking there a long time". But if I didn't know any better I'd say he's still looking. Very few scenes do we actually see Husk not drinking, even when he's just a background character.
Another thing that's intriguing about him is that apparently the creator has mentioned before that Husk does not like his demon form. And if you pay attention to his behavior and reactions, you can absolutely tell. He's uncomfortable with all of Angel's flirtations in the first half of the show, but the ones that get the strongest reaction out of him are comments about his form ("Kitten's got claws" and "I bet I can make those wings flap"). Other than Angel though, we also see Mimzy call him a furball and pussy cat, and Husk very clearly despises Mimzy. Then there's his lashing out against Alastor, which was triggered by Alastor saying he was his pet. I'm convinced Alastor was intentionally pissing Husk off in that moment, knew exactly which comments would hit him the hardest, but I don't think Alastor expected Husk to have the gal to refer to Alastor's own leash (hence the extreme reaction).
So yeah, extremely curious what else is in store for Husk, as well as all the other characters in this show! I cannot wait for season 2!!

Yep. Did you notice that the first thing he finds is a bottle of booze when they're going through the scraps of the hotel when Charlie finds Keekee and Angel finds Fat Nuggets?
Also, from things Viv said before, most of the forms in hell are both related to their lives but also things they dislike. Husk didn't like cats. It's why Alastor is a deer demon, he was mistaken as a deer which is what got him killed by a hunter. (It also makes him similar to a Wendigo, but that wasn't the main reason.)
I have a theory about Alastor based on one crucial bit i think people overlook. Viziepop (the creator) said that the song "Insane" by black gryphon is considered Canon as Alastor's story. In the song he arrives in Hell unknowingly after causing mischief in heaven, as the song goes "I don't belong among the angels, and maybe thats just fine with me. The things I did UP THERE were high school, but now I'm going for my degree." This implies he is a castout, like Lucifer. That would mean the wings he wants to unclip could be his ties to Heaven, or his Angel wings. And then theres the many implications he has ties to Lillith as they were both gone 7 years.
Alastor was a cannibal serial killer in life who was mistaken for a deer and killed by a hunter while burying a body. Why would he have ever been in Heaven? The line of the song refers to Earth when they say up there, as in when he was alive. Verse 2 even references another demon he knew when they were both alive and were likely killing together.
"Haven't been the same since I expired" - he's a sinner that died
"Weren't you an old pal of mine?
Departed from us far to early
But now we're meeting a second time
We used to have such fun together" - The compatriot that he knew on earth before they both died
And finally, he is not like Lucifer at all. Lucifer was a seraphim, like Sera is. Alastor is a mortal soul.

7:21 is a very good example of counting one's chickens before they hatch.
There is a theory going around that Lucifer COULDN'T join the fight until Charlie got hurt because the original deal with heaven was they could kill sinners, so until they hurt Charlie (a hellborn demon and his daughter), he couldn't intervene without breaking his side of the deal, as the original deal with Sera was that they could kill sinners to control the population but not hellborns
(Not my theory but I like it, not sure how much water it holds)
And that's a wrap for season 1 I really enjoyed every episode, and what a fantastic finale to finish the season with.
I can't wait for season 2 both hazbin Hotel and helluva boss are some of my favourite animated shows for sure.

My highlights of this episode, not counting the fight scenes (Niffty was MVP, no question), were Vox’s “ho-ly sh*t” (it was easily his quietest line of the episode he was so stunned but it made me laugh hardest) and Emily’s reaction to Pentious arriving in Heaven, just that whole scene from his confusion to Emily’s “oh dear God, _yes!”_ face and Sera’s “oh dear God, _no!”_ face … this was just a Chef’s Kiss moment for me. And you posting your reaction today is a great start to my Cake Day 😄😄😄

That line from Vox was hilarious, but Val's "This just got interesting" when Lucifer said he'd fuck Adam was what killed me.
@@WelcomeApathy oh no doubt that was the first time we saw either of the other Vees showing an interest in the battle (sure Velvette was smiling but she never said anything), but the look on Val’s face when Niffty finished the job … I really want to believe he was thinking he dodged a nuke (or rather a holy knife) 🤣🤣🤣

People who hate Adam and call him a misogynist and are happy when he dies, and there’s the people who feel somewhat bad and didn’t want him to die and are hoping he comes back as an demon in season 2.
I think it will be depends on is the dagger Niffty use is regular or angelic weapon. Cause if it is, then Adam is pretty fucked.

He's also voiced by Alex Brightman, just like Sir Pentious. If Adam comes back in Hell, Alex can keep voicing someone in both Heaven and Hell in season 2!

I think his deal with Charlie is for after he’s already free… he wants to be in control… of everything thus he wants the throne of hell… as far as who he’s made a deal with it’s one of three ppl Lilith, Eve, or The oldest and strongest overlord Zestial (which I don’t think is an earth born sinner no where in the bride ring is anyone that looks like him and he doesn’t seem to have any underlings like the rest of the overlords.) and the only ppl that have the green glow is him and Alastor

Alator is the only one fighting the angels without angelic weapons, despite it being well established that demonic powers cannot mortaly harm them. I am not sure if this is hubris on Alastor's part or if he only intended to take on a defensive role and buy some time. But Alastor is obviously shocked when he takes the hit, so I believe he overestimated his own powers here.

what if lucifer , lilth and Eve made plan together for them to change the tide or are working with God or a high rank archangel recarding how sinners can be redeemed but none of them wants to tell charlie anything because in ep 5 lucifer contacted someone in heave to open the portal so it had to be lilith because the talk between adam and lucifer it looks like lucifer is still in contact with eve who replaced lilith as charlie mom because they both know lilith cant leave heaven dude to some reasons which is no longer in effect cause adam is died so yh im curious to what season 2 have in store

I mean, Alastor is badass, and I really hope he only becomes more and more powerful, but for now he has little power compared to every possible main villain
I think at the end of the day, most people agree it's a more than decent; but at least decent, show that could have benefited from being allowed more time, so more plot points, characters, relationships, and other overall details could have been fleshed out. Though who knows, that's just due to the fact that they were limited to 8 episodes; that doesn't mean that otherwise it wouldn't have been plagued with other problems if they had been given too much time. Still, with what we do have, it was enjoyable.
I do hope going forward companies do something along the lines of allowing creators to choose how much time they need, with a max of 12 episodes for the first season, and maybe more for following seasons, depending on how well a show performes/ what the team of creators ask for. Though of course that could mess with viewer expectations negatively, but I'd say just 8 episode seasons is already doing that; at least with choice you'd probably still have similar issues, though with the benefit of creative liberty/integrity, more incentive to perform, more variety, and allowing a show to cater better to what it's trying to do.
One big thing that is directly to do with the show though, they need to get that camera on lockdown, sometimes it's just going all over the place without clear direction, sometimes it's using odd transitions for the sake of transitions, it's really the biggest thing that messed with my ability to enjoy watching.
Also Sir Pentious's "death" is more like his redemption. It is major, since it proves someone can be redeemed enough to end up in Heaven.

Wow, I'm surprised to see this. I am super sensitive to visual media motion sickness and I had no issues whatsoever. I am legit surprised to see someone that did.
@@WelcomeApathy Oh, it had nothing to do with motion/media sickness, it was that there was a lack of clear direction/intent. You can have a show where the camera is moving almost constantly in order to give a lively effect, or to give a lot of visual information quickly, but often enough, it wasn't doing anything of the sort. Sometimes a character would be pushed out of the frame and it'd actively detract from a scene because you don't get to drink in their smaller mannerisms, other times the transition would start by expanding from a corner into a bigger shot, but not to emphasize or hide anything, so just a basic transition would have been better to maintain a flow, and to not leave the people reading the camera scratching their heads at what they were supposed to take from it. Though at least it's not the most intrusive problem to have.
Both Emily and Charlie are squeaky. Charlie when dad hugged her and Emily at the end.
I think Katharine McPhee will be a perfect choice to voice Lilith in season 2.

Really wish adam would've survived, because i really wanted him to get another song(i even thought adam was gonna do a song for the extermination).

Definitely figured it being a mask. It helped dehumanize him throughout the show, make him out to be this big deal monster. And once the mask breaks you see his true form, a pathetic egotistical human still riding his coattails of being first.

Don't spend too much time trying to sort out the theology. NONE of this is theologically accurate. They took basic characters and names and made up a story around them.
This is so bad... I mean... Epic, yes, but the whole idea was awful. Adam shouldn't target hotel. In fact he should avoid it to prevent Lucifer from interfering. And Charlies Idea. It's not gonna end well. Save a buch of worthy souls is good, but arming thousands of CANNIBALS those who DESERVE to be in Hell with angel weapon and then just let them go... Hell. Also... Heaven's were always stronger and now they have casus belli for a full scale war. This is awful.
