America had this turn in program "cash for clunkers". 84 El Camino. Super clean. Garage kept. Had 73,000 miles on it. I had to crush it. They made me crush this one. And i mean they made me. I still think about that car. I think the owner "dad" must have passed away and the kids turned it in to get a new car. I've crushed thousands and thousands of cars. I can still see that car crumbling when i shut my eyes. Not that im an el Camino fan. It's that i knew i was crushing someone's pride and joy. Some dad did his part and raised his kids and got em out of the house. And he had some extra cash and got him a Dream car. But that's the reality of all this. One person cares and one person doesn't.

I remember years ago that the local police department borrowed a friends crusher & crushed a bunch of stolen & altered bikes & ATV's that they couldn't find the original owners, & some idiots who also got caught by the cops after being chased, they made the perps watch their own bikes get crushed, some one at a time too as punishment instead of jail time

A mother and father brought us a car that their son had died in (suicide) they wanted the car crushed. It was heartbreaking. I cried at the crusher with them. If I can help in any way I will. Hello, i from germany and i really love the american cars. In our country you only see boring limousines and typical german SUV`s ( BMW X3 for example, german SUVs are verry boring). Its sad that american cars almost not imported.

Oh prices are really low. I would say the average car weighs about 2800 to 3200 lbs. So 75 bucks a car right now.

They will be transported to a near by steel mill. They will be run the shredder and turned in steel products. I beams, guard rails and rebar
