This album should have been her debut. The concept, the visuals, the prod and the lyrics are really showing of what Kim is capable to do

What’s so frustrating is that we know what she is capable of with Turn Off The Lights, I don’t know if it’s the label or what that’s pushing her into this easy listening pop. I listening to the album this morning and I just left thinking…meh

This album was recorded before she signed to Republic.
I think they're trying to make her palatable to the straights which sucks. She unapologetically queer I wish they'd embrace her unstoppable queer energy
I really like both albums but to me Problematique is more cohesive and sounds more ~Kim~ to me than Feed the Beast. I completely agree with the TOTL bit though - I hope she can give us volume 3 and it lives up to the first two!

Something About You is my favorite one from this album, it sounds so good. I love Deeper too and the last one is great too
Problematique is superior to feed the beast. The original track list of Problematique would have been even better. This is the Kim I fall in love with. I will just pretend that feed the beast never happened.

That's why I guess I felt something off when feed the beast album was dropped. I didn't excited at all, the album felt forced to be released so bad. The only time I excited is when the future starts now dropped that's says a lot.
Lol FTB is actually better than Problematique, I like 10 songs in FTB whereas in this one I only like 5-6 songs😂
@@wazowski6602 it's because there's many songs that supposed to be on Problematique that are now already released on FTB. You don't get it, Problematique are the main plan to be debut but shii got leak so they're got new plan with FTB. That's why sonically tracks are clashing out with each other. Whereas problematique supposed to have 17+ plus songs on it.
The shame with problèmatique is twofold, first the delivery of this album is a bigger disaster than what happened to the dinosaurs at this point, be it her label or herself (leaning towards the label) , there is something that DESPERATELY needs to change in the way she rolls out music, cause they either get leaked so it gets old before it even drops or she has no publicity towards her projects
Two, feed the beast basically is the deluxe version of problématique, as coconuts, sex talk, and hit it from the back were all meant to be on problématique from the get go, making both this mixtape and FTB feel a bit Frankenstein in their structure
I love Kim with the bottom of my heart, and imo this pop is stuff i CRAVE so naturally love it, but something is sabotaging her big time ❤
Sex Talk wasn’t meant to be on Problematique. It’s coconuts, hit it from the back and revelations from feed the beast which were supposed to be on Problematique

This is some of my fav music I just saw her on the podcast with zack sane and she said likes making gay club music and that’s my fav so I don’t mind that it has some deep meaning but more just a bop and have something you can dance to

So much better than Feed The Beast. But like an album I find it a little tiring because the songs are on the same vibe where I feel like I'm hearing the same thing and I prefer to listen independently some songs.
My favorite is Je T'Adore
For me the last half of the album is 10/10 and problematique is great too hahahah
i love kim, i just hate how she feeds into the idea of herself being problematic because the only real reason she’s problematic is she works with and defends dr. luke
She don’t need to be to like she has great songs without him
I think it’s also about how so many people think she’s problematique for being trans/queer and this is her making fun of those who criticise her which I love!!

My main issue with both this and feed the beast is really that they are so generic and so many of the songs almost feel like filler songs. You said it so well with easy listening which they are but she is just capable of so much more.

I wanted to like this album. I really did. And I definitely didn't hate it. But my reaction to it, like my reaction to "Feed the Beast", was lukewarm at best. I thought the first couple of tracks were fun, but I don't know, I kind of got bored pretty fast because there wasn't enough variety?
I feel like my favourite part of Kim Petras album shouldn't be Paris Hilton, but it was.
Also. I get it, Kim, you're rich. I don't need to hear about it in what feels like 80% of your lyrics. Where's the vulnerability the judges have been asking for, Kim?
Anyway, spooky season approaches, so I will personally be largely ignoring the debut duo and listening to "Turn off the Light" (a lot).

This music is diabolically formulaic. Every song is generic. I can hear immediate references to other artists’ songs so regularly that it isn’t just irritating, it’s cynical. The production is decent enough, but it’s like a Blank & Jones chill out playlist. It’s background music, but with a mismatched vocal on top.

The bar was low when Feed the Beast was released this summer, but this is even more of a B side cash grab. Makes me lose a lot of respect for her which to be honest is not that much to start with since she continues to associate with that awful producer
