I come here often to listen to this song. When a person doesn't know their roots, music will always connect them. Wish my grandmother had not hidden from us her culture. This song digs deep into me . I can't explain the feeling but it's there.

As I made the clip four years ago there was so good like nothing about Esma Redzepova on CZcams. I heard the song as a background music in a documentary about Roma and Sinti, but it was uncomplete. I loved it at once and decided to make a clip with it. Long time I was looking on internet for a better version of it. Finally I found one and made the clip. Now there are many thousants videos about her on CZcams but this clip which caused it - means made her popular here, mine - has been blocked all over the world by the owner of the copyrights to the music. What could I say? Just... thank you!.
But after I sent to them this comment they took off their restriction, so we can watch it free again. Let's all say - THANK YOU!

Been pleasure to learn this talented singer. Very good clip you made. Original movie you used is made by the Soviet director Emil Loteanu in 1975-1976. Tabor uhodit v nebo aka. Queen of the Gypsies or Cigani lete u nebo.. It was my favourite film in the childhood. Original soundtreck of it also very impressive. Songs of Esma would be nice to have there too.

Seems they are offending the "establishment" by being so independent and free. and I think their biggest and unforgivable offence is that they are happy, do not believe in the insurance, banks, development, ambition, career politics and the rest of the scams. they live in the present, they have amazing talent for music which, in combination, are a shotrcut to genuine happiness.
But this sweet illusion is just one side of the coin. I´m not here to criticise anybody, but I would prefer if we could see beyond the naive myths and illusions... I really love the gypsy music, however I couldn´t deny the fact that half of their songs is about money, shallow luxury, pathological affection, etc... But surely, they know how to bring on the party!
