Cooking The Traditional Way for the Christmas Feast🇫🇯

In this vlog we follow how Navuti Village celebrates Christmas. It is Christmas Day and the men and boys are preparing food to cook in the traditional Fijian way called lovo. Lovo is an underground oven which food are cooked on heated stones then the food is covered in leaves to protect the food from the soil that the oven is going to be covered in. Here we follow how my family does it.
My momo was not happy when he woke up in the morning and the young boys were not at the lovo ready to prepare it so he had to take the lead by himself. After that we went up to the next village to buy some potatoes because the women said that the potatoes were short in order to make chicken curry.
Before the family meets together and eat for lunch the church service comes first. After the church service the women prepares the lunch and make it all ready for the family. Then lunch can begin.
After lunch people rest and in the late afternoon the family meets up for grog session in order to end the day and enjoy each others company in the last hours of Christmas.
