We would sit down as an entire family, Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, after Christmas dinner every year and watch this movie. Every year this silly movie becomes more and more special to me after we’ve lost a few of those family members. Best Christmas movie ever in my opinion. One time my parents and brother and sister and I were snowed in at a snow park in our camper, and we probably watched this movie 10 times in one weekend. Danced to Ray Charles that spirit of Christmas with my mom at my wedding. This intro song almost brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
Awesome, im 41 yrs old and been watchin that since it came out, every Christmas it's a Tradition to sit down and watch that Movie, and "Its A Wonderful Life" Great Holiday's everybody, GT
This and the original are the best vacation movies, the original for having the best story and being r rated so it could do more with its jokes. This one for being one of the best Christmas movies ever made.
Oddly enough, this is my favorite part of the movie...I never, ever let my family skip over it! I absolutely love the song and how it kicks off the movie! Can't wait until Christmas comes back around so I can watch this again!
Don't go puttin' none of that stuff on my sled, Clark. You know that metal plate in my head? I had to have it replaced, cause every time Catherine revved up the microwave I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for a half hour or so. So over at the VA they had to replace it with plastic. It ain't as strong so I don't know if I should go sailin down no hill with nothing between the ground and my brains but a piece of government plastic. You really think it matters, Eddie?
Love this song and the movie! Another John Hughes classic. He made great movies. Christmas starts when I play this on the DVD player! Christmas Wishes from Ireland!!
This has to be my #1 favorite Christmas movie. Elf, The Muppets Christmas Carol, Scrooged, and a Christmas Story are up there too. Love this intro song and cartoon.
it's a tradition in my family to watch this movie everyday Christmas day at night movie never gets old, so many funny parts that i get now but i didn't get as a kid lmao
I watched this all the time when I was young, and I still do every christmas season. Favorite Line: "Eddie, If I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more suprised than I am right now"
One of my all-time favorite movies. It's nostalgia, ikno, but I watch this every Christmas on VHS. This, Home Alone and Die Hard are the movies you really need to see every Christmas.
My family has watched this movie so much every year that it's to the point that we have practically the whole movie memorized. If you blindfolded us and only gave us the audio, we could visualize every single scene. Our tradition to start up the christmas season is to start watching it on October 28th, because a few years ago my mom couldn't take it and just had to watch it early, so now we watch it every year on that day.
This movie, Christmas Story, and Trapped in Paradise I watch every year leading up to Christmas...I know It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on On 34th St are your typical classics, but to me these are my 3 favs...
This has one of my favorite Christmas movies. If I had a candy cane cellphone I would eat it. :3 I'm excited for this movie to come on TV. My family and I watch it a couple of times.
This is such a great movie a must on christmas. It never gets old every time I watch it I just start laughing. Movies like this and trading place, great doors, vacation. Will always be funny because they were smart. Rip John Hughs
This is a hilarious movie and I love the opening cartoon song!! My family also watches this every year during the Christmas holidays but I also find myself watching it throughout the year just for a good laugh. Here' s wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year too! Take care and God bless! (Jeremiah 29:11-14)
This is like my movie for the few days leading up to christmas. Christmas Eve night "It's a Wonderful Life" is on tv and I always watch that and then on Christmas day it is "A Christmas Story" time.
MissWooHoo11 - BSL for American Pit Bull Terriers! sadly not all Americans get snow:( I live in caliform5amd where I live, it's only snowed ONCE. And I wasn't even born for it:(
Same here. I can't tell you how many family jokes have come from this movie. One year I dressed as Eddie in the green pants and white shirt and my brother showed up in the family truckster (the actual one from vacation). He won that year.
When I first saw this I thought it was a cartoon. It's one of my favorite Christmas movies. I watch it every year. The funniest part is the squirrel on Chevy Chase's back.
For me there are only 3 Christmas movie classics: Home Alone(s), Look Who's Talking 2 and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation :) Merry Christmas to all!
The perennial Christmas classic. Funnier and more realistic than "It's a Wonderful Life" will ever be! Everyone needs to watch this, before they begin their own "big, old-fashioned, family Christmas" tradition. ;)
This intro and this movie is like the 80s saying goodbye.
Especially from 1989. What a shame for the 80s to go away...
After Christmas & New Years it always seems like its the end of the world 2 me.
YouthFreedomFighters great observation my man
Maybe you should see it as a new beginning instead.
Thanks. I'll consider that.

You know, gang, a Buddhist📿 like me has to admire the moral this film taught. It's a historical part of the Holidays❄️.
Best christmas movie ever

It's 2019. 30 years ago a classic was born.

Great Holiday's everybody, GT
Christmas Vacation premiered Friday December 1, 1989.
it's Sunday December 1, 2019. Today marks the 30th anniversary!
I'm an early 90s baby, and my childhood revolved around this movie. I'm sure the 80s was a great time to live, but the 90s was a good time to be born.
This and A Christmas Story are the best holiday classics in my opinion
Cbcguy agreed
I agree
along with the polar Express
It's almost time to watch this film again!! Instant Xmas feeling!! yaaaay.
The nostalgia is real with this one!
This and the original are the best vacation movies, the original for having the best story and being r rated so it could do more with its jokes.
This one for being one of the best Christmas movies ever made.

The Nostalgia was at an insane level hearing this in more than 10 years. This was always the best movie to watch on Christmas Eve.
Don't go puttin' none of that stuff on my sled, Clark. You know that metal plate in my head? Love this song and the movie! Another John Hughes classic. He made great movies. Christmas starts when I play this on the DVD player! Christmas Wishes from Ireland!!
This has to be my #1 favorite Christmas movie. Elf, The Muppets Christmas Carol, Scrooged, and a Christmas Story are up there too. Love this intro song and cartoon.

I watched this all the time when I was young, and I still do every christmas season.

Me and my family have a tradition, we watch the grinch a day before Christmas Eve, then we watch this Christmas Eve night. Every single year!

Urdnot Stark I agree. Christmas songs are the best!
Or December 18th, which works out for me.
Urdnot Stark my mum every time says ,I would be crazy when I am Listening to Christmassongs in november and every time I disagree 😂
One of my all-time favorite movies. It's nostalgia, ikno, but I watch this every Christmas on VHS. This, Home Alone and Die Hard are the movies you really need to see every Christmas.
My uncle Bob recorded it back in 2003 when widescreens were first being produced on DVD. Pop it in the 💻 and boredom solved on road trip.
My family has watched this movie so much every year that it's to the point that we have practically the whole movie memorized. If you blindfolded us and only gave us the audio, we could visualize every single scene. 0:01-0:08 I’m glad they kept the original WB logo without CGI on 4K disc.
