The Detroit Speed Mini-Tubs are inner wheel housings designed to accommodate wider tire and wheel packages, including tires as wide as 315mm. They are designed for a perfect fit, retain a stock appearance, and are available exclusively through Detroit Speed Our Mini-Tubs are stamped from 18 gauge steel and made in the USA. Thanks for posting
Great info & tips. It would be great if you did an in depth video on the 1st -2nd Gen Chevy II. In those videos, much of the fab work was glossed over.
This looks great, but what about the shock mounts when you're done? I assume there's going to be a rear suspension kit from DSE, but would be nice to have a shock relocation kit for those that go a different route.
We now offer a complimentary suspension kit for our Mini-Tubs. www.detroitspeed.com/1979-93-mustang-rear-suspension-components
The only suspension kit I see arr the upper/lower control arms. Am I missing something?
@@mathewshackelford8037 Detroit Speed does offer a coilover kit that mounts the upper shock in the frame rail and the lower shock on an offset bracket. How about $1500 for brackets/mounts, non-adjustable shocks/springs, and hardware? The price goes up from there.
Keep them coming, we need some torque arms, and a bolt on minitub shock mounts.
They’re most likely going to be doing a Quadralink and pan hard bar kit w/o the torque arm.
I didn’t catch all of it but you said the interior trim would fit over the mint tub on a hatch?
Where would you mount the top of the shock if you cut the mounting bracket out?
Can these be installed at the factory depth to use as a repair of rusted factory wheel wells?
I have a 1980 Fairmont. Will all the Fox body components work?
Will this work on fairmonts/zephyrs since theyre basically the same car, just 5 inches longer?
Are you'll going to do them for the 94-04 mustang as well?
Have you'll made for the 94-04' mustang yet???
You can fit a 315 without minitubs. How wide can you actually go?
So what do you do with the top of the shocks
If I was to ship my car to you guys could you install them on my mustang??
What about spring and shock location?????
I called you guys a week or so ago about these fitting on a sn95 mustang and I was wondering if you'll would send me a set because I believe they'll fit..
We have not yet confirmed the fitment in the SN95 platform.
So you will need to install a IRS in it or wait for them to come out with the coil over bracket kit.
Our rear suspension will be coming soon.
Looks great, but where is the shock mounted?
Our rear suspension it will no longer utilize the factory shock tower. You can learn more here: www.detroitspeed.com/new-1979-93-fox-body-mustang
315/60r15?
I have a hatch Foxbody. Doing it the same as yours how wide of a tire can I fit. A 305 or maybe 315
If you follow our guidelines on this setup, you can fit up to a 315.
is it different for fox coupes? how about my torque box reinforced plates hmmm seems very involved...
This kit is the same for all Fox models, but on the coupes, you will need to modify your back seat brace and the decklid hinges.
@@detroitspeed kind of obvious some do not watch 100% , Very nice package!!! DS does it again!!
What about shock location
How much to do it on my car?
Quick question, what did you do with the seatbelt mounts that are spot welded to the wheel well .
We have a bolt-on seatbelt relocation bracket included with the kit.
I see that it came with the lower seat belt relocation mount, I was talking about the upper shoulder belt that has its mount right on top of the wheel well in a hatch. Do you have to convert to strictly lap belt or do we just cut it out and weld it back into place after the tubs are in
Sorry for the confusion. With the upper mount in later cars, you would just need to remove it from the factory tub, modify the flange, and weld to the new tub.
No thanks. I'm not spending an additional 2k for the rear suspension kit just to get shock mounts. I already have the rear suspension components that I want to use.
Okay......good for you I guess......
Where do my coilovers mount? 😎
looks like its designed to work with their rear Suspension that's coming in fall. kinda stupid to me to sell a product that makes you cut out your shock mounts without having a product ready to replace them i dont care if they are sold separate or in the kit
@@blakeholton6274 there is like 100 different companies that offer up coil over mounts for a foxbody
Who would want to do this so much could go wrong
Everyone that wants a real tire under a Fox!!!
What makes this kit 400$ and others 150? Lol
