Bill Steer and Jeff are personal heroes of mine. I remember the first time hearing carcass at 15 when Necrotism was out and it changed my whole perspective on shit.

I've only been a fan for a couple of years after hearing Jeff's country album during lockdown.

Bill is a hero of mine too, I loved his band Firebird. He's an absolute riff machine, and he always has an amazing guitar tone. Such a professional too...full respect...!!

Bill is a very smart player. His work on Necroticism is a masterpiece on heaviness.

Love the H.R. Geiger story. This interview is so sweet - a genuine fan and a true gentleman of metal having a chat.

Really cool to discover Bill is a fan of Lenny White, Tony Williams, Stanley Clarke! I never knew that. I love listening to Bill talk about other people’s music that he’s into, and why he enjoys it.

It’s an odd day when I don’t listen to Carcass, and it’s been that way since 1993. All of their songs are great, but some in particular are such incredible pieces of work, conveying a feel like the best art ever made. They are truly masters of their craft, and make the rest look dumb, without even trying. I thought they were done when Surgical Steel came out, and then the Surplus Steel tracks Zochrot and Livestock Marketplace are epic. Then Dispicable was fed out song by song, just killer track after killer track, culminating with Slaughtered in SoHo, a masterpiece of beauty and gravity. The Scythes Remorseless Swing is yet again, another masterpiece. I can’t believe that song hasn’t made them as popular as Metallica or the Beatles.

Cool conversation with Bill Steer. Heartwork is one of my go to albums whenever im in the mood for music. Carcass is extreme in a good way and to me in a genre of their own. I listen to them at least a few times a month while I’m out working or driving a long distance. I just let the album replay over and over. Heavy as fuck. The track embodiment makes me want to smash something the riff that Jeff screams bow yourself down nothing is heavier than that. The second verse where the flange is used multiplies the heaviness imo. Just sayin. Love the new track in god we trust will be purchasing the new album. Thank you for covering them Kyle

When Heartwork came out, EVERYONE knew the cover was done by HR Giger, because it was mentioned in interviews & in the press. I guess that info got lost over the years for the Millennials :-D
