No not dividing the Europe but a reminder to Europe to stand on their own feet.

    EU options:
1). Aligns with US, results: Block confrontation, conflicts and endless wars, ecomimy crisis and poverty.
2). Aligns with China, results: Win-win coorporation, peace, economic development and prosperity.

Europe is a divided state between peace and wars. You either stick with America for geopolitical tension or China for trades, investment and PEACE.

what makes you think EU is united? the West is united? there are quite a few countries who wanted to escape from the NATO prison. 😁😁

The last speaker has an excellent point: China doesn’t ever complain that EU or USA makes too many LV bags, Boeing and Airbus planes, cognacs, (or iPhones) so why is EU and the USA complaining about Chinese EVs? Surely you need to accept that some countries are better than your own industries sometimes?

It's time for EU countries to free itself from the clutches of America. What has America done for these countries?
The Russia Ukraine war is the direst result of America's desire to maintain its hegemony.

Only US has the power to manipulate EU, including dividing EU.

You forgot to mention that Xi also visited Serbia to commemorate the 25th anniversary of NATO bombing of the Chinese embassy in Serbia. It is a reminder to the EU on the destructive nature of NATO 25 years ago, and also now with the Ukraine war resulting from NATO’s continual eastward expansion towards Russia.

A good debate on subsidies, overcapacity, etc follow the WHO guidelines. As long as every countries should cooperate, the world is a peaceful place to live in. A country can only prosper as what John has said and elaborated. Ending with - to be competitive and in order to stay ahead, instead of protectionism !!

Historically if you look at Europe, it has been very divisive until perhaps the formation of the EU. Nonetheless, UK has left which is perhaps the first crack in its alliances. It takes one or two more cracks to weaken it further, and likely from within (weak economies, social divide, etc), or from USA’s foreign policies (NATO expansion, tariffs), and not from China. China in fact has repeated its policy is win-win, unlike the USA or NATO.

In the words of Xi Jinping, as it modernises and becomes more prosperous, “China will neither tread the old path of colonisation and plunder, nor the crooked path taken by some countries to seek hegemony once they grow strong".

On EV, Europe is going wrong way again like their mobile phones (Nokia & Ericsson), even with all the protection, they cannot compete likes of Apple, Samsung & Sony ... smart phones. Very different technology and engineering approach.
EVs is literally smartphone on wheels, just motor, no need engineer, gearbox, radiator like traditional car. EU car makers should sponsor some mobile phone makers to help design while they make their new EVs.

This roundtable basically spreading their western/ US views/propaganda. Was there is need drive a wedge into Europe? With Germany going into a recession with high priced oil and gas. Same was happening in UK, France, Netherlands,
The wedge could only get deeper by gravity. Outside forces ( China) not require.
