Total awareness of one”s self, or rather, of one’s mind....The SELF alone IS.” The implication here is that by observing the mind, its contents (same thing), you come to the SELF, which is beyond the mind. There’s a direct way to transcend the contents of one’s mind and to reside in Transcendental Consciousness. “Sadhana is accelerated ripening.” Sadhana is necessary, so choose a practice that transcends the thinking mind. Be direct about it. Contemplation or self-inquiry is indirect as described in Maharaj’s own words here. Instead, be direct. From this, I conclude all of Maharaj’s teaching is comprised of two parts. The first is self inquiry, a simple contemplative ‘I Am’ practice and the second being a beautiful set of insights, or pointers.

The spirit misidentified the body/mind as self, and try to seek it’s real identity. The real take the unreal to be self and try to look for another real self,this drama is the most ridiculous drama of all.
