Our ancestors too left Kashmir as said by Anantnag sir in early 16th century and settled down IN GOA near ponda. Portuguese atrocities drove us From GOA to South Of India into Karnataka. Our heart feels for Kashmiri Pandits and Isreali Jews. All Konkani speaking people all Over India are from pandit clan. Please watch Kashmir Files and support Hindus .

I'm not a Kashmiri but I can still relate to this movie. I am Somavanshi Kshatriya. My ancestors were from Madhya Pradesh. They were forced out of their land in 995 AD during Ghaznavid invasions. They had settled in Gujarat till 14-15th century. But once again had to flee their homes due to Gujarat invasion of Mohammad Khilji. They finally settled in Maharashtra and Karnataka which was then ruled by the great Vijaynagara Empire. Most people know us as Pategar or Savaji in Karnataka.
What are different ways to support Hindus?
@@prajwalshetty2115 Support yourself. Start by understanding your Dharma first. Read the Bhagavad Gita frequently. Try to know the history of your own family first. Who were your ancestors? Where did they come from? Whom do you worship and why? Who is your family Guru? What are your family traditions and rituals. Speak to your elders and try to learn more about your lineage. That is the least you can do to help Hindu society because the most basic unit of society is a family. When families are concious about their Dharma and their history, society will automatically be strong.

His ancestors were Kashmiri Pandits (Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmins) who resided in Kashmir, but when Babar invaded India and established the Mughal dynasty after which the Ayodhya temple was destroyed, around 200 families with the hardships of crossing mountains and rivers moved to Goa around 1575. As the Portuguese were involved in conversion to Christianity, they moved to a place called Dakshin Kannada (located in South Karnataka).
When he was an MLC himself, he got a call from many of his Kashmiri friends including Anupam Kher, who informed him that we have to do something to save the lives of these Kashmiri Pandits. He went and approached the then Karnataka CM, Shri Bangarappa who offered his support.
He did not watch the movie just because it was made on the Kashmir issue. He tells that he is aware of so many incidents of violence and tyranny in 1990 that has happened in the valley and this movie also throws light on incidents which he himself was not aware of.
He concludes by telling that the people are getting awareness as to what happened and whatever happened is sad but its an unfortunate reality.

Brilliant actor and brilliant technician/ director - let Sharada Devi's blessings on them give Karnataka and kannadigas more awareness and entertainment through their art works. Shankar Nag is alive even today, there is not a single day when a kannadiga does'nt think or talk about Shankar!!! Somewhere in Karnataka, atleast one kannadiga will be thinking about Shankar at any point of time.

I remember in one of her stories she mentioned this that a big diaspora of people residing in Konkani speaking areas of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka migrated from Kashmir to save their culture. He talks about the movie & how Anupam Kher tried to contact him back in the day inorder to raise his voice against the injustice Kashmiri Pandits were facing at that time to the Karnataka government which he tried doing but unfortunately the contact was lost, he also talked about his Kashmiri lineage & how his ancestors might have migrated escaping Islamic persecution during the Mughal Era.

Very sad that we could not help our own Country men Kashmiri Pandith's, our Governments also failed to address the issue and rehabilitate them. While our Government could rehabilitate Tibetians when China invaded them and rehabilitated them in Kushalnagar, Karnataka where they are still living happily. Our Government rushed to help Nepal, Afganistan and Bhutan also during calamities. But not to our own Kashmiri Pandits. All were deaf and dumb while they suffered for 32 years silently. This is called "manege mari pararige upakaari". They have funds to build big statues, memoirs but no funds for such humanitarian causes. Duniya matlabhi hai. No sensitivity for other's sufferings. Hope now Government will take action and see that Kashmiri Pandits get justice and can go back and dwell in their houses in Kashmir vally.

@@meeravijay8294 though I don't understand kannada or konkani or tulu which he speaks but looking at the very name it reveals history of 1000s of years "Ananta Nagarakatte" which is a sanskrit word (since all these languages are sanskrit mix or based) meaning a person coming from "Ananata Nagara" basically it is in a subtle way their ancestors have keep his original roots alive so that his generation knows where they have come from. "Chandrasekharapuram Shanker Gangadharan" my father has kept Chandrasekharapuram purposefully so that I know that I originally come Chandrasekharapuram a village in palghat kerala which in turn is replica of a temple town near trichy and tanjore in TN which was left by my ancestors 600 years ago due to Islamic invasion and migrated to palghat in kerala. And our South indian tradition we give children the name of our grandparents (Shanker) so that during the time of shraddha (death anniversary of ancestors) there won't be any difficulty to remember our 3 generation of our ancestors (older times it was 7 now we have diluted to remember upto 3 generation of our ancestors names) why I am telling you this because our forefathers had unique ways and means to keep our traditions alive despite all invasion rapes massacre which shows how much trouble they might have faced.
