So I decided about a week ago to take a short break from drawing in order to edit this video. This quickly became a labor of love over wanting to get John and Rodney’s complex relationship down as sincerely as possible (which is easier said than done). There is some small manipulation of dialogues and scenes in this, but nothing that I thought wouldn’t have actually been shown or said in canon. It’s more of a bending of events to shine a stronger light on their relationship.
In the end, this basically became my Opus to McShep - It’s sad, it’s tortured, it’s hilarious, it’s sweet. It’s "emotionally-sarcastic-5-year-olds-in-space" while still being "I-Jump/You-Jump" devoted heartbreak. I really hope everyone enjoys!

Breaks your heart, how perfect their chemistry was. That show should've gone on forever.
Just like O'neill made SG1, Mckay made SGA, and Mckay is made so much more alongside Sheppard. Great chemistry is a tricky thing, Stargate was lucky to have such a powerful sequel. So many shows fail long before this
McKay will always be my fav :)
The Shrine was one of the most beautiful episodes for any series in general. Both David and Joe did a fantastic job as with the supporting cast.

That episode almost brought me to tears! The one man in all of Atlantis who desperately believed his mind was his only asset, forced to suffer from losing it rapidly :/ I mean geez...
I can't stop watching this, this is amazing. I shipped them so much as a kid but I was too young to really get into the internet fandom at the time and i'm so glad I can delve into it now!

Wow!!! That was a top quality vid! The different moods that were invoked at each stage of the song were just... wow. Like, in the beginning there was this dark and desperate feel ("I'd do anything"), and it escalated and then came to an almost stop with the 'I can't pretend' lyrics and clips of them looking so sad at each other. Like they were saying "this hurts so much, why do I keep going? oh, right, for you." And then the clips got even worse for them! But then the rest was these great waves of joy and fighting, and just... the entire thing was a fantastic representation of everything we love about John and Rodney. Oh, and John's laugh/snort/spit was perfectly timed. :D

I've rewatched this a few times and love it more every time. It's wonderful how you shift with the tone of the song and there are some lighthearted segments mixed in with the tense action-y ones and sad ones. They all fit perfectly! And how you mixed in some actual lines/speaking of the show always fits in well too.

S1E5, around 37 minutes. It's Sheppard saying "You still seem nervous" and Rodney (nervously) replying. "Nono, it's good, it's good. I'm all good. I'm good." before they ambush some wraith.
