Saw him in Montreal last night July 30. Second row. Brought me to tears multiple times. That is how good this group is. If you ever get the chance go see this man and his band of amazing musicians.
Is it just me or do the three all dressed in black in the string section (to include Tina Guo) remind you of the brides of Dracula? But, you know, in a good way.
Inversely, Imagine Hans Zimmer & his whole orchestra doing a CZcams segment on the "Tiny Desk" Channel, or out in the open impromptu, FREE for the un aware live audience, for charity, an audience that will be Blown Away, & guaranteed fans 4 life!!! It's inevitable!
Dick Embry nice, I was in the back but Jesus Christ it was still awesome. I think my favorite part was Pirates just because he threw in the main theme towards the end in such an epic way
Well, great, but that electric guitar is completely out of place! Indeed, from purely technical point of view, one pertinent question is hanging in the air: What instrument (on the stage!) can best express the original concept of Hans Zimmer? In the track to the movie he resorts to synthesizers or brass/wood wind instruments and they master-blend organically in the multilayered texture... So far so good! Here, though, the bland insipid squeaky electric guitar sound is obscuring the genuine depth and volume and dynamic and "the iron logic", regardless of the mastery of the player, or furthermore, exactly perhaps because of that mastery... What instrument would have filled that role on stage in front of public during a live concert? In my humble opinion, the musical theme simply demands wind instrument with some specific timbre and unique intonation. Of course, that would carry in itself some risks: electric guitar on stage is regarded one way (probably more favorably!) while some wind instrument for the solo parts and the cadenzas is regarded in another way... Whatever, the main part here must be played by some kind of wind instrument, not by some kind of string instrument and electric guitar is probably the worst case scenario, for sure...
Guthrie waaayyyy over-powered the Orchestra on this version of Crimson Tide. He drags you out of the listening experience - esp compared to other versions with him.
OMG the Crimson Tide gives me goosebumps everytime!👌such a Masterpeace from Master Zimmer 😍🙏

I like Gurthrie as a guitarist, but I think he ruins this a bit. I wanna hear Roll Tide, Govan! I don't wanna hear you noodle all over it haha

Sounds like music the Red Army would play as they invade Poland or something
Hans Zimmer must have found God's lost MP3 player or something...
Prefer the original version.

most bitching drum solo ever!
god there isn't another concert more boring.
