I was surprised with some of the placements but I can see you points with them. That being said? YOU'RE SO CORRECT WITH TOP THREE Especially Werner Werman. His fight is extremely underrated and you did him justice putting him as high as you did. The moonshine mob is so fun and the music is so funky I love it. Saltbaker's fight was so good AND THE ANIMATION FOR IT GOES? AMAZING. Based top three picks
@@averageboi I’d honestly have to disagree in Dr Khal’s Robot. As yes the 2nd phase does loose some interest but the 1st phase makes up it for it a ton. The mechanic of having to shoot at different parts instead of the entire boss is just… amazing! 3rd phase I wasn’t really a fan of but I gotta hand props to the amount of difficulty this boss brings to a actual airplane fight! Plus the reference to Eggman was honestly pretty funny and the death animation just tops it off.
Sally's third phase doesn't have any family stuff there because _you just murdered her in the second phase_ and she's now in the afterlife. That said, it does have family stuff in the secret phase where you kill her husband. She's reunited with him in the afterlife, and have baby angels who presumably would have been their unborn children.

Gonna be really honest, I like EVERY SINGLE boss, the artstyle,gameplay, even the death quotes! But it is a guilty pleasure of mine seeing opinions of other people. Great video!
The Demon and Angel fight was pretty cool for me when I discover the mechanic first time, and I was very amused with it because for me, it's very creative. The mechanic of using wisely of your most used movement in the game, which is Left and Right, is very cool.
I agree with you that the plane fights are worse than the regular fights. My main complaint is that you can’t choose your weapons and that half the charms become either useless or nerfed. Good video though so keep up the good work. Also I’m pretty it’s Verner Verman as a pun on the word “Vermin”.
Personally, I think The Howling Aces deserved higher. Firstly, the animation is SO SMOOTH, I could watch it for days. Secondly, the second phase can lead you into a secret phase if you make all the puppies smoke trails gray. Lastly, the song is AMAZING, it fits the boss so perfectly. But, that's just me.

I think you way underestimated how good Mortimer is. Yes, the first phase is kinda dull and easy, but it's just the beginning of this bombastic battle and it lasts about 20 seconds anyways, and plus, it has three whole attacks, and come on, HE PULLS OUT AN ENTIRE WHALE OUT OF THIN AIR! But then... The real fight begins as he summons a giant chained snow corpse only to get inside of it and use it like a mech suit, and oh the sounds this snowy golem makes, and oh the expressions and the cheering of the cultists in the background, and of the super fast-paced attacks and oh how he turns into a fridge to chuck sentient ice cream frozen cubes at you that split and become smaller like some sort of a Mandelbrot cannon projectile from Steamlands, and *OH MY FREAKIN' GOD THE MUSIC, WHEN IT REACHES IT'S PEAK OF CHAOTICNESS, HOW BOMBASTIC IT IS WITH ALL THE TRUMPETS AND ALMOST EVERY SINGLE WIND INSTRUMENT THERE IS IN THIS UNIVERSE OH MY GOD!!* And then how the snow golem splits in half and Mortimer gets launched into space only to come down as a giant snowflake, how majestic it all looks, how the snowflake zips around, changing direction and orientation, firing its dastardly attacks, like _RIPPING ITS EYEBALL OUT AND MAKING IT SHOOT LASERBEAMS,_ and oh, the beautiful aurora background, and the spinning platforms, and how the music calms down as the battle becomes slightly less frantic, and then how when you defeat him the snowflake melts, revealing frozen Mortimer who probably got hypothermia from controlling sentient ice mechs, it's absolute *PERFECTION!..* The boss battle gets a 10/10 from me, definitely is in my top ten, together with the top *DOGS* Like The Howling Aces (And my precious little Iron Giant boy)... Also yeah I think I got a little too carried away with praising Mortimer Freeze, but I just really love his fight. I also get why you didn't say anything about the final phases of Chef Saltbaker. I haven't even finished the video, but I just wanted to say I love it already. I've been addicted to Cuphead rankings since it came out in 2017 but I was so tired of people ranking the bosses exactly the same, so I really appreciate your take on it and the way you described each one of them! I really appreciate how you didn't place the easiest bosses at the bottom just because of that, but actually valued them despite their lack of difficulty. They also deserve the appreciation for the design, the music, playability, etc. I'm actually the opposite, I think I'm better in airplane bosses and coincidentally my favourite from the main game is Djimmi and my favourite from the DLC is Esther. But also, funny enough, my most hated boss ever is Cala Maria lol. Loved your video and the editing style, as well as your passion when talking about Cupead (same lol) and your humour! I don’t really have a specific list but I know the Devil and Chef saltbaker are competing for number one for me personally. They’re so much fun to fight and their songs are a blast to listen to
I saw that it is actually possible to try the secret boss again as well as the other mausoleums. I think you have to hold on one of the trigger/bumper buttons. Theres a vid of it on youtube
Honestly, I do love cheff saltbakers fight, but one big thing brings it down for me. In the first and kindof the second phase, it feels way to much like they had all these awsome animations but dident have a fight to go with them so just decided, "How about we just make stuff happen based on the animations". What I'm getting at is, it does not feel like you're fighting him, in my opinion the attack come across as just stuff you have to avoid, not, I'm fighting him now!!
I agree with you, Chef Saltbaker is THE BEST Cuphead boss! I agree with everything you said about Chef Saltbaker, except for him being a bad guy, idk I just never saw it coming 😅 but so good, so much very good
very surprised to see the knight that high. I find him annoying. Werner as top spot in main game is awesome though. A lot of people say he's too easy for where he is in the game, but I've always found the fight adequately challenging. The progression of it story-wise was great too. You can see the cat lurking in the background before it breaks in, and the KO twist where it was a just another war-machine he was driving was great. I still haven't played Saltbaker yet but it looks amazing and the music is on a whole other level. Bootleggers stressed me out a ton but the more I got the hang of it, the more I enjoyed the fight. I hated the 2nd phase at first until I got used to it, but even before that, I appreciated the fact that they were able to utilize a concept from unused original game stuff. I did die once at the snail. I like all the reaction videos for that, but unlike some of those streamers, I wasn't mad. As soon as it happened, I was like "you know... the clues were there. I should've known better. I deserved that. Good trolling, bro. I'll get you next time." and I did, on the next attempt.

I do get the idea of planes movements and fights being less fun. However Hilda Berg seems like a boss with cool phases and transformations. I totally get the personal preferences, but Hilda is probably top 10 for me. Generally the lower placements for Djimmi, and Dr Khal for being air battles. Still a good video, looking forward to future content
I'd put the Moonshine Mob at 1 JUST FOR THE SONG ALONE. The fight is great but Bootlegger Boogie goes way harder than it should tbh. 2 is Werner and 3 is Mortimer
I'm really surprised most people don't like the plane fights that much. They're my favorite aspect of the whole game, in fact, i wished there was more plane fights in the dlc (well, technically the Howling Aces is a plane fight, but come on, you know what I'm talking bout)
5:00 You Can actually fight again without doing the entire puzzle again. You just need to press 2 buttons at the same time on a central gravestone (Shift + backspace).
I would like to note as you didn’t say it in the video, but Saltbaker literally uses the ingredients that you collected against you during the fight!! Each attack in the first phase is the different ingredients; the dough from the Moonshine Mob, the limes from Highnoon Hoopla, the berries from Glumstone, and even the mint from Mortimer freeze!! The only thing I legit don’t know where it is is the pineapples from the dog fight. Heck, even in the second phase, those little leaves falling down are the crushed up mints!!! It’s so good!!!!!! While the last phase is definitely a very different energy from the first 2 phases, throwing out the little details that made those interesting, the setting of an absolute wasteland of salt almost looking like a desert with screaming salt pillars and the distant friend that you’re trying to save still in the background is so good for a completely different reason. Idk how to describe it, it’s just such a good vibe for a finale like that. It’s almost nightmarish, absolutely perfect for the situation you’re in, trying to save your friend from quite literally getting baked and eaten. Also, side note: Saltbaker is scarier than the Devil in this game. The Devil just wants your soul to own, Saltbaker literally wants to BAKE and EAT IT. Also his expressions are so unbelievably creepy and vile, while the Devil just looks like he’s daydreaming in the middle of the fight or thinking about what he’s gonna have for dinner later, which, very in character, but not scary.
Werner Werman is so underrated, i just love that he made his own battlefield in his house and made his own tank, and the tom & jerry gimmick that they used for the third phase with the cat eating Werner, but ot is revealed in the knockout animation that it was actually a rovpt controlled by werner, the battle is just so cool
It's funny. Each boss ranking I've seen of Cuphead, I've been surprised by just how different each one was. I feel like this is one I disagree with a lot lol, but y'know, opinions are opinions. I personally really like the plane levels. I really enjoy bullet hell type games, so that's why. Also the music in each one seems to be really good for some reason (Aviary Action is my favorite song on the OST). But, either way, I can agree with a good handful of things here.
(Spoliers!) There is a cheat code for re-fighting the devil boss in the DLC, it uses the shoulder buttons or specific buttons on the keyboard, and it is different for every console.
Fun fact- With ms chalice, you can go into the pawn fight and parry a pawn as soon as it jumps down. It’ll give you enough height to parry all the pawns on the top shelf!
You actually can fight the angel and devil again, you just don’t get a score. Go near it and hold left and right triggers on a controller. I’m not sure how you do it on PC but it’s pretty easy to look up.
Fun fact. If you hold the front left a right triggers (thats what it is on ps) at the middle gravestone, you can actually fight the devil and angel again. Same with the mausoleums
I agree with you in most of your placements in this list, but I just think that the Doggon Dogfight and Djimmi the great could’ve been placed higher, but that’s primarily based on personal preference, since Djimmi is my favorite boss, and the Doges are my favorite DLC bosses aside from Saltbaker. But major props for putting Werner where he should be

5:02 In the Secret Bosses defence, you can retry the fight if you hold the L and R buttons in front of the gravestone. It is never disclosed so I understand why nobody knows how to retry this fight.
Out of all the comments mentioning that I can indeed retry, thank you for being the first to mention that it's not actually said in-game. I was going nuts, thinking it was common knowledge, with just how many people commented that I can retry
The reason theres no king boss fight is its chess and the king is the weakest piece in chess with the queen being the strongest so the way they made the queen the final boss is very clever
This was a great list. Warner Warman is one of my favorite bosses and has one of my favorite songs in the game. I don't own the dlc, but Saltbaker definitely looks like he'll be the best boss in the game.

Small critique about the video editing: I’d make the music a tad bit quieter. But even then, your voice is pretty loud so it doesn’t overpower you. The video style and the rest of the editing is really good!
Saltbaker is my 2nd favourite boss fight. His 1st and 2nd phase are really fun, it is fun to dodge all the stuff, in my opinion, but I don't really like 3rd amd 4th phase, and that is why he is not my most favorite fight
You can actually end the fight in 2 seconds in the second phase of doctor calls robot if you save up a bomb attack then bomb him once it ends the fight and you just skip to the third phase
I hate how for chef saltbaker you didnt even get to the thrid and fouth phase and didnt even talk about the chefs music when you talked about werners music(also you forgot to say that for werman that he was controlling the mecha cat and that him getting eaten is his way to get in) other than that great video and great channel also those are pepper shakers (also werner werman fans rise up)

I saw that it is actually possible to try the secret boss again as well as the other mausoleums. I think you have to hold on one of the trigger/bumper buttons. Theres a vid of it on youtube
Honestly, I do love cheff saltbakers fight, but one big thing brings it down for me. In the first and kindof the second phase, it feels way to much like they had all these awsome animations but dident have a fight to go with them so just decided, "How about we just make stuff happen based on the animations". What I'm getting at is, it does not feel like you're fighting him, in my opinion the attack come across as just stuff you have to avoid, not, I'm fighting him now!!
I agree with you, Chef Saltbaker is THE BEST Cuphead boss! I agree with everything you said about Chef Saltbaker, except for him being a bad guy, idk I just never saw it coming 😅 but so good, so much very good
very surprised to see the knight that high. I find him annoying. Werner as top spot in main game is awesome though. A lot of people say he's too easy for where he is in the game, but I've always found the fight adequately challenging. The progression of it story-wise was great too. You can see the cat lurking in the background before it breaks in, and the KO twist where it was a just another war-machine he was driving was great. I still haven't played Saltbaker yet but it looks amazing and the music is on a whole other level. Bootleggers stressed me out a ton but the more I got the hang of it, the more I enjoyed the fight. I hated the 2nd phase at first until I got used to it, but even before that, I appreciated the fact that they were able to utilize a concept from unused original game stuff. I did die once at the snail. I like all the reaction videos for that, but unlike some of those streamers, I wasn't mad. As soon as it happened, I was like "you know... the clues were there. I should've known better. I deserved that. Good trolling, bro. I'll get you next time." and I did, on the next attempt.

I do get the idea of planes movements and fights being less fun. However Hilda Berg seems like a boss with cool phases and transformations. I totally get the personal preferences, but Hilda is probably top 10 for me. Generally the lower placements for Djimmi, and Dr Khal for being air battles. Still a good video, looking forward to future content

I'd put the Moonshine Mob at 1 JUST FOR THE SONG ALONE. The fight is great but Bootlegger Boogie goes way harder than it should tbh. 2 is Werner and 3 is Mortimer

I'm really surprised most people don't like the plane fights that much. They're my favorite aspect of the whole game, in fact, i wished there was more plane fights in the dlc (well, technically the Howling Aces is a plane fight, but come on, you know what I'm talking bout)

5:00 You Can actually fight again without doing the entire puzzle again. You just need to press 2 buttons at the same time on a central gravestone (Shift + backspace).
I would like to note as you didn’t say it in the video, but Saltbaker literally uses the ingredients that you collected against you during the fight!! Each attack in the first phase is the different ingredients; the dough from the Moonshine Mob, the limes from Highnoon Hoopla, the berries from Glumstone, and even the mint from Mortimer freeze!! The only thing I legit don’t know where it is is the pineapples from the dog fight. Heck, even in the second phase, those little leaves falling down are the crushed up mints!!! It’s so good!!!!!!
While the last phase is definitely a very different energy from the first 2 phases, throwing out the little details that made those interesting, the setting of an absolute wasteland of salt almost looking like a desert with screaming salt pillars and the distant friend that you’re trying to save still in the background is so good for a completely different reason. Idk how to describe it, it’s just such a good vibe for a finale like that. It’s almost nightmarish, absolutely perfect for the situation you’re in, trying to save your friend from quite literally getting baked and eaten.
Also, side note: Saltbaker is scarier than the Devil in this game. The Devil just wants your soul to own, Saltbaker literally wants to BAKE and EAT IT. Also his expressions are so unbelievably creepy and vile, while the Devil just looks like he’s daydreaming in the middle of the fight or thinking about what he’s gonna have for dinner later, which, very in character, but not scary.
Werner Werman is so underrated, i just love that he made his own battlefield in his house and made his own tank, and the tom & jerry gimmick that they used for the third phase with the cat eating Werner, but ot is revealed in the knockout animation that it was actually a rovpt controlled by werner, the battle is just so cool
I love how the first two saltbaker phases are good enough to justify the last two being alright at most

It's funny. Each boss ranking I've seen of Cuphead, I've been surprised by just how different each one was. I feel like this is one I disagree with a lot lol, but y'know, opinions are opinions. I personally really like the plane levels. I really enjoy bullet hell type games, so that's why. Also the music in each one seems to be really good for some reason (Aviary Action is my favorite song on the OST). But, either way, I can agree with a good handful of things here.

(Spoliers!) There is a cheat code for re-fighting the devil boss in the DLC, it uses the shoulder buttons or specific buttons on the keyboard, and it is different for every console.
For the angel and devil fight you can replay if you hold tab and back space at the middle grave this works for the mausoleums
Fun fact-
With ms chalice, you can go into the pawn fight and parry a pawn as soon as it jumps down. It’ll give you enough height to parry all the pawns on the top shelf!

You actually can fight the angel and devil again, you just don’t get a score. Go near it and hold left and right triggers on a controller. I’m not sure how you do it on PC but it’s pretty easy to look up.
For Bootlegger Boogie, I like how the actual announcer clears his voice before giving u the knockout
Fun fact. If you hold the front left a right triggers (thats what it is on ps) at the middle gravestone, you can actually fight the devil and angel again. Same with the mausoleums
I agree with you in most of your placements in this list, but I just think that the Doggon Dogfight and Djimmi the great could’ve been placed higher, but that’s primarily based on personal preference, since Djimmi is my favorite boss, and the Doges are my favorite DLC bosses aside from Saltbaker. But major props for putting Werner where he should be

The reason theres no king boss fight is its chess and the king is the weakest piece in chess with the queen being the strongest so the way they made the queen the final boss is very clever
This was a great list. Warner Warman is one of my favorite bosses and has one of my favorite songs in the game. I don't own the dlc, but Saltbaker definitely looks like he'll be the best boss in the game.

Saltbaker is my 2nd favourite boss fight. His 1st and 2nd phase are really fun, it is fun to dodge all the stuff, in my opinion, but I don't really like 3rd amd 4th phase, and that is why he is not my most favorite fight

You can actually end the fight in 2 seconds in the second phase of doctor calls robot if you save up a bomb attack then bomb him once it ends the fight and you just skip to the third phase
