Too much time waiting for something to happen. If I was dancing it would stop me. If I was mixing I’d have to keep something with a real beat ready or looped to pick up the lack of this song.
The song has potential but the lyrics ruin it. The feminine voice is a romantic / matriarchal figure, and the man somehow has fallen under her control, which is very hard to sympathize with and so pushes the listener out of the song. We seem to be invited to see the fight in this song as her fight against his attempt to escape or as his fight for her, when instead there should definitely be a fight against such a strange creepy figure.
Pretty underwhelming, not feeling it tbh :/
