- I continue my visit to the Clarksville, Tennessee Area with a stop at the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Resting here is one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time. For almost 38 year Pat Summitt was the head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers. During her career she compiles a total of 1,098 wins and 8-NCAA National Championships. She passed away in 2016 from the complications of Alzheimer's.
Gonna go visit Coach this weekend. I'm a die hard Crimson Tide fan, but growing up, I was always in AWE of Pat Summitt! One tough lady, but all class!!!
I had the opportunity to meet Coach Summitt a couple of times. She was one of the most genuine and friendliest people that I have ever met. Like you said, She was tough as nails but all class. Thank You for watching and for your wonderful comment.

We left the dog statue there in the Fall of 2016. There was no headstone then. So happy the family kept it for Patricia Sue and Sally Sue.
