Round bales cost half what square bales do by weight, at least in my area this has been true for years. You could buy rounds and double your money with this setup.

To make the straw more manageable. Also most farmers in this area only make the round bales. Turn them into the square bales and they are then more manageable for people who don't need a whole round bale.
I love the ingenuity!!!
Nice setup. I built a Rebaler out of a old round Baler. I have videos on the whole process . Have a good one

That's the way to do it. Only make what you need, instead of picking all of those bales in the field.

Why make a square bail out of round bales? To sell a different size or ?
I think it might be cheaper to round bail the fields also.
Most of the farmers in my area only make the round bail. By making them into the square more people can purchase them.
Cause cows can't get a square mesl out of a round bale.
@@johnhaley7582 LOL
You could have the same efficiency from the field by making large square bales in the field and converting at the farm.
Why? The cost of your rounds and the addition of running that equipment to rebail it into squares is cheaper than just buying squares?
I would say it's more labor efficient. These square bales are most likely for resale. Most people can't handle 1500lbs round bales.
Why?
I don´t like the round bales because you have to unroll them to split up and i don´t have the space
How can that be good for your hay condition being baled twice . Especially if it’s alfalfa
When that round bale is last year's,can now be this year new square
