Thanks Hodge, I have this same welder but have only used it with flux on 110v so far, but found it to be pretty decent. I have the tig torch but so far I haven't gotten around to spending the $400+ on a 125cf tank, prices have went way up since the last one I bought one in 2016. Can't wait to get the tank and upgrade my shop to 220 to see what this machine can really do. I plan on getting a Prime Weld unit soon to be my primary tig machine, and using the Tooliom as my MIG/ backup/ tack-up machine. King of Battle.
So something to try that I’ve seen others have great success with while running stick us to have the sec force set rather high. Albeit he was running in 220, even then actual measured output was about 30a shy of what the machine setting was, additionally he tried to stick it and really couldn’t get the stick to hang up. With that said he couldn’t get 7018 and thereabouts to run with a flip in his eyes.
For stick welding, on 220, I would suspect that this machine may run much better. I've been stick welding since I was a kid and tried every trick I could think of. It was just really hard to start. My assumption would be that it's because it's on 110. I even ran little 1/16 rod with no change
What kind of stettings and how did you configure the cords on the front I've heard it can do reverse polarity and that short cable that is connected makes a huge difference if you use it or not all help is appreciated
@@mckennahicks5259 while using flux or as a TIG the short cable should be plugged into the right one marked "-". If you are using as a gas MIG it should be plugged in the left mark "+"
@@mckennahicks5259 for stick welding it can be setup either way depending on the type of rod. Polarity in stick welding effects depth of penetration. If the stinger is plugged into "+" plug will be deep penetration where as into the "-" will be more shallow
So when using 110 I should have the stick cable into the + Thanks for all your help do you plug the short cable into the negative when you have it in the positive or do you leave it unplugged
Damn i didnt notice the paper with settings was a sticker. Thanks

110-volt stick welder you got to get this size 3/32 it can't handle the bigger sizes
That's what I tried first, I went even smaller to 1/16th and still didn't help. This machine just doesn't like stick on 110.
