Another solid review James. If it’s too expensive don’t buy it. Simple as that
Everyone seems to see PXG and automatically say "Oh they're so expensive!". And this brand new putter isn't exactly in the budget club lineup. But I just bought a putter from them, the Blackbird, that listed at $400(USD) in 2022. It was $189. The technology doesn't degrade over time. In two years, this club will have the same tech and be just as good. Just wait and buy it on sale.
The
Thats not what people think when they see PXG. They think "this guy is probably a douche"
@@ben1ben2ben1And people probably think "the guy is a douche" when they leave comments like this!
I haven’t bought a new club aside from my irons.. there’s soo many guys who buy 3 putters and 3 drivers a year and just trade them in, I saw a Qi10 with ventus red shaft last month for $450 “I didn’t buy it” and is still expensive but brand new that’s $950 plus tax! Point is your right, wait for the right club to show up used and within your budget!
@@kenhewitt7357 absolutely.
James, you are on point here. If people have a good, quality, balanced putter you can take strokes off the final score easily. I definitely want to try one of these putters. I love mallet designs.
Bold move picking a difficult breaking putt to do a Putter review.... Shows it's the Indian and not the Arrow : )
I got fitted at the beginning of the year for a PXG putter, tried many but the one I got was bye far the best. Yes it was a little pricey but hey, we are here to enjoy our hobby right? And we love new shiny things. 😊
Drivers are at about £600 and you’ll use it maybe 7 or 8 times a round depending on course. Putter is the most used club in the bag, worth getting fit for and spending the money on. Stop moaning about 450 for a putter, you use it the most, it’s worth the money
This putter still has torque. Good progress but not close
James, you need to do a review on the new L.A.B. Golf DF3. I think you'll find that they do this technology much better. What PXG is doing is a nice step forward in acknowledging that there are other interesting ways to help players putt better but this will ultimately fall short of what L.A.B. Golf has been able to do.
Agreed
You’re making assumptions based on what the lab rat cult is telling you. I’ve got a lab and it’s a great putter but it’s hideous to look at. I’m looking forward to trying one of these the looks and quality appear to be far better than the 500 dollar block of aluminum that lab is producing. I get it the tech is there but they look and feel cheap. Hopefully pxg will force lab to up their game an offer a product with removable weights as well.
The technology that L.A.B uses is hardly new, or developed by them. L.A.B's real innovation is in their grip design.
I swung a few LAB putters, along with a dozen or so other offering, and liked them very much. It and the TM Spyder tour are my two picks. Have the TM already. However the LAB did not impart a sense of quality. The grip quality was less than I was expecting and shaft emerging with a angle to produce forward press was not as elegant a design as the PXG Allan. Granted, PXG didn't have to design the first iteration as LAB did.
Actually LAB is far different than you think. Their grip is a necessity to Perfect their tech.
LAB isn't a toe up putter or an Axis 1. LAB is it's own animal completely. And the more I look at it and it's tech. I'm starting to believe. This new PXG putter is more like the Axis 1 or an improvement over that brand.
I figured it would be Scotty Cameron or Odyssey that would come up with a LAB competitor. Never thought it'd be PXG.
Scotty is the least innovative designer… that’s glaringly obvious with the “new” B3 lineup.
I mean I know Scotty basically just copies Ping putters and bedazzles them, but LAB putters might be a little to intricate for him.
scotty has been making the same putter for about 20 years. they've added mallets but they're the exact same as every other mallet. odyssey just puts "ai" on stuff and keeps the putter the same. PXG is a divisive brand, but they are atleast trying new stuff. You can tell because for a while, they were launching 2 new sets of "flagship" irons every year. They're really dialing in and are creating some cool designs that are IMO significantly more innovative than the competitors.
Disclaimer: I play some pxg clubs, but am obviously not sponsored(i wish).
I,ve got a pxg full bag fitting on Tuesday, can,t wait ,
So, the guy with no videos reviewing LAB putters claims this is the end of them? This video feels more like propaganda and advertising than an honest review
Just because I haven’t videoed one doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on one? Strange to get upset over a putter
Also… the lab remark was a question… 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
you have absolutely no idea how disrespectful this is to LAB and those who are LAB enthusiasts to ask if this is the end of LAB, especially with no content on LAB whatsoever. you are oblivious. officially done consuming your content.
@@JamesRobinsonGolf Once again, you're doing an ad (which is fine, just be transparent with your audience) rather than providing an honest review
@@JamesRobinsonGolf This comment is a bit disingenuous, because someone else commented early on that the LAB will always be the OG, and your response was to ask them essentially "You've tried the Allan then"? Why did they have to try it to have an opinion, and you don't?
Nice to meet you yesterday morning, James up at Woolley Park, a bit wild, windy and wet at times, but I always enjoy playing there while I’m over in the UK from Spain.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks David. You too buddy
Awesome review. It may take a bit to save up lol, but I’m definitely going to get me that putter.
Huge fan of the color combo. I feel that being a colorblind golfer I've found that my best putting has been with my Never Compromise Zi Kappa which has the same color contrast. It just sets up better than anything else I've tried.
I can’t wait to try both this and the LAB!
would like to see up against the LAB DF3, make it happen James!
if you pause at the beginning, they call show on the graph that off the toe/heel, the pxg is more consistent with distance than the "lab"(doesn't call out which one) when hitting off the heel/toe. Particularly off of the heel.
Another putter with a somewhat similar look and feel is the Evnroll Outback. It also allows for a pendulum-like stroke, I just started using one. Prices vary depending on condition, but typically as low as about $100 USD used and some over $500 new.
It's the love child of the Spyder Tour and L.A.B... looks nice but for now I'll stick with my DF3
Great review James. I liked the idea of zero torque putter, just didn’t love the look of them until now.
I have PXG irons. They are worth their price 💯
At the cost of your dignity
So when are you going to compare the Allen to the Lab putter and find out who’s putter preforms better ?
Only reviewer on youtube that has something for everyone. Keep it up big G
Appreciate that Jeff
LAB putters, fully custom fitted can cost over $1000. There is a point when a club and what tech is inside of it. Can be pricing out some of the market.
I have a custom fitted Mizuno putter. 3 years ago it cost me $350. I felt like at the time. I was spending too much for one club, that wasn't a driver. As I used it and practiced with it. Everything about that putter just worked better. Going back to My old putters, I truly saw a difference in the properly fitted higher quality putter and I was sinking more putts.
Now these zero tork designs are very interesting. I know first hand. Not all putters are created equally. For example. The Axis 1 putters Don't work custom fitted. They only work Stock. Don't cut the shaft down, don't mess with the lie angle. Because you'll screw up the Axis 1's balance. I will go and try this one out. I'm always looking to improve my putting. Like most people. I love to see you get a LAB custom fitted to you and try them both. Keep up the great work James. Cheers!
Yo can get a LAB putter custom for less than a grand.
Just my 2 cents added to the conversation...I have a LAB Direct Force 2.1 and it absolutely changed my putting and my scores. Zero doubt in my mind. I 100% think this is PXG trying to squeeze in on their technology without giving them credit, which is...what it is. But I will agree with you about the cost of a LAB putter. Mine was over $800 with the upgraded shaft and alignment design, colors, etc. Totally worth it to me, but it definitely prices some people out.
I'll get one when they arrive in Australia, we are always months behind. I enjoyed the review, thanks James.
Great video Jimmy, alway been intrigued with zero torque putters and been keeping an eye out for them on market place. Thing I found is get fit for the grip first then then putter
Loved the video James great job as always. Hope I will not get to much hate but the shape of that putter reminds me of my Ping Fetch. Anyway I noticed some similarities between the two! I might have to consider a putter fitting with PXG now and the Allen putter might work very well with a wrist lock grip
Great review, but surely hitting putts on the right line with the right pace applies to every putter?
That's a lovely looking putter and headcover
Good to see a fresh angle on zero torque putters. Not sure its as good as a lab but will be keen to try. What I really don't get is people complaining about the pricing. These same people accept paying a certain amount for a new shiny driver that is almost identical in performance to one from 3-5 years ago, but get their back up about expensive putters that have actual proven tech in them. You use it the most out of any club in the bag, it's the most important club, and yes there is actually new technology so you are going to pay for that. It's not just about a pretty Scotty Cameron which rehashes old designs and puts in new paint fill and then gouges you. Does my head in honestly, makes zero sense lol
Hi James, just received the mileseey pf1 you recommend. Does yours show, the slope and angle icons (symbols) in the view finder? Mine does not. Just curious, and you're the only other person that owns one
LAB is king of the zero torque putters. That stated, I’m sure the Allan but it’s more similar to the odyssey toe-up and axis putters.
No they aren’t cheap but have you priced a new driver lately? Oh and you use the putter on all 18 holes ! I want one !
Loving the latest PXG equipment
LAB boys punching air rn and crying 🥊 😢
I love pxg but that looks strikingly similar to my TaylorMade spider.
If LAB made a Spider.... Pxg said hold our beer
I think it would be helpful if, while you review the clubs that are more expensive. You take a couple minutes to showcase affordable alternatives or something like that. Not that there will be perfect 1:1 cheaper options. But there’s gotta be similar things
So will it pick a ball out of the cup?
The only thing that upsets me is the $479 price tag.
Well done James 👏 😊
I will just stick with my 1970's era Acushnet Bullseye Blade Heavy putrer. I have had it since I was 16 years old. I will just stick with it!
How does that compare to the Hercules?
WOW! The level of anger and hate coming from the LAB guys is insane!!! Simmer down. You are starting to sound like you got suckered into spending $800 for the ugliest putters ever, and are still 3 putting most greens.
I thought this lol
That putter costs US$450. I wouldn’t buy it unless I hit the lotto. I would consider it in a few years if the price drops quite a bit.
It’s a beauty
did you always use a 36 inch putter? If not, why did PXG think you needed this length?
Good warning.
That might well help me, I rarely think.
How can one year make you hit the golf ball easier?
They cost roughly £450 and that is same price as a lab putter, think its all a gimmick
All putters are almost 450 now , you bums need to stop crying about it being expensive
100% disagree. It's well past time to stop the insanity on golf club pricing. It really has passed the point of being ludicrous. Is there any point at which you would agree us "bums" have a valid point if "all putters are almost 450 now"?? Is it maybe $600, $750....$1000?
There are plenty of manufacturers who make cheaper clubs. Even PXG has a line of putters that are very reasonably priced.
L.A.B. Golf did it first. And probably better. Not ever selling any of my LAB putters for a copycat.
Expensive? It's a hundred pounds cheaper than a new driver yet you'll use the putter maybe three times as much as the driver during a round. I can see the Allan saving three or four strokes in that round, will the driver?
Nice, but poor design to plaster PXG right on the face like that using a different material. Something small using paint fill would've been better. Or even better would be to leave the face alone.
Is this a putter youd keep in your bag?
It’s very clever but a normal putter doesn’t rotate in reality like it does in PXGs “marketing” tube….for the simple reason it’s in your grip. I don’t think anyone should have a problem holding the weight of a standard putter square. Great marketing from them though….Boom! 😂
Looks amazing - how about a giveaway? Would love to win this
Pxg will say it the greatest and six months later it on discount and another model is introduced as latest and greatest
As does every golf company.
Bobby was more interested in getting you in frame rather than the what the putter was doing and were the ball was going especially from behind the hole. Love the putter but
bobby has to learn that the club and where the ball is going is more important than keeping you in frame. After all its the clubs and the balls that you are reviewing.
My condolences on the passing of your father, I had not heard that.
All these drivers are fine, but let’s face the real fact- good putting is largely a function of your ability to read and judge the speed of the greens. No putter, regardless of price, is the solution.
I like these reviews but are you putting it into your bag?
No mate if I put every club I reviewed in my bag I would never have a settled bag and have 14,000 clubs in it lol
Are you going to game the putter ?
Doesn’t matter if you can’t putt.
You know Bobby, those LAB putters, those LAB putters from America, those LAB putters Bobby, you know, the ones you like; those LAB putters from America, the ones you like, you know, those LAB putters Bobby.
Lol
If you bring that putter back with any sort of speed, it will open. The only lie angle balance putters are made by L.A.B. Golf.
Did you miss the bit in the lab? Lol
So 1-5 with the first 5 putts. Same as anything else
I will stick to my custom lab df2.1,
I will never get away from a lab putter.
What's it cost a grand?
No such thing as too easy, unless you can install raised tracks on the green!
These are going to struggle to sell, everyone is going to see them as LAB knockoffs at the same selling point. And I play Pxg clubs
Scotty's are Ping knockoffs but they seem to be selling well.
Look much better to my eye than a LAB
These are far better looking than the lab I’m currently playing. I just ordered one to try.
disagree, they will eclipse LAB putter sales quickly. A better combination of tech and looks, BUT not made in the USA I believe. At this price, why not PXG?!
At this price point they will have absolutely no problem selling them. L.A.B putters are awesome, but also hard to look at. These look alot better.
Put it in a LAB Revealer and I'll bet it isn't balanced.
I could probably believe it's a good putter if you could actually drop one. 😂😂
it ain't a LAB.
Way to pick a straight easy putt I’m sure the sponsor is very happy
Oh goodie! Another $450 (at least here in the states) putter … personally I’ll wait until they start showing up on eBay for $200 when the next new, shiny putter is rolled out in a year or two.👍🏻
How much did PXG pay you for this ad? LAB isn't going anywhere and would probably be in more PGA players bags if they weren't under strict contracts with the major brands.
Its allways Straight!!! You still have to aim??
450$ !
Not convinced by your display 😂. Still way too expensive
Obviously, would like one but over £400
Just too much
Think anything over £150 per club Is extortionate
Regardless of whether that’s a driver or putter a a hybrid or wedge or an iron .
Do you truly believe all this so called tech in new putters is worth it? These putters have become crazy expensive. After perimeter weighting the rest all seems like gimmicks to boost cost. I use all costco now but before that used a carbite putter from a 90’s infomercial. I used it thru college and well after. I’d put that putter up against anything today.

Lab is far superior. You missed a lot of putts and speed looked inconsistent.
lol
Said Adam scott this last weekend, oh wait, he missed a ton of putts with the lab.
£429 - you have to be joking !
Named for his brother... so is this the alan parsons project? Ha ha
You never mentioned the outrageous price.
It's cheaper than LAB who is selling the same zero torque principle. (Still expensive)
@@mychaljwit’s literally the same price, without the shaft or forward lean from lab
@@derekjohnson7013 oops. I was logged into their website and I get the discounted Military pricing so I saw it cheaper than retail.
shows the price at 7:20
The "end of L.A.B. putters?" No. I would like to see a side-by-side comparison of the putters. Please use the "Revealer" and this PXG device. Then, redo the test in slow motion. (BTW, it seems like PXG may have "borrowed" the original concept of their torque demonstrator from someone at L.A.B., but no names. I do not want to taint your objective review.)
C$ 609.99 pre-tax 🥴 That's quite the price for a gimmicky ball retriever 😅

Parsons spent millions to develop the best clubs ever made. Yet every few months, remarkably, a better set emerges. Just goes to prove it is all bollocks.
😂
Like your content but disagree with this one. LAB is the OG and is going no where
You’ve tried the Allan then?
@@JamesRobinsonGolf I'd try it, but I doubt they are gonna get the same traction that LAB has gotten after seeing it's use increasing on pro tours. Especially if LAB fans of the zero torque balance principle see it as a knock off.
I think without trying both you can’t have a conclusion IMO 👍🏼

people buying PXG stuff jusr baffles me. even if they weren’t often times more expensive, it’s such an annoying and ridiculous brand. i’ll never support them.
