To keep it out for a few hours without going brown I leave the seed in a cup of water by the sink. I didn’t think this would actually work but it does.. try it, you might like it 😂🤷🏻♀️
Put the seed into a small shot glass with some water. Keep the water covering 1/3 of the seed and refresh the water ones a week. And have patience.. alot of patience. I've waited 18 months but now have a small beautiful tree growing 🤗
@@alaniscaballero2859 yea it has just enough, I don't know if I would want to be pouring it all over the top. It can become overbearing. Lemon has a strong flavor.
Lemon helps in keeping the avocado fresh. Cut and use only that much you want while let the seed remain with the rest not remove the peel as well. Then apply lemon juice all around the exposed part. Keep in a bowl covered with a lid. Plastic wraps are not good for food, not good for environment.
I compact mine down as flat as possible in the bottom of a bowl, then pour a small layer of water over top. It’ll stay separate as long as you don’t stir it.
Her light coat of olive oil is the equivalent of 2 shots of vodka. Also, I work at Chipotle. All you have to do is saran wrap the top of it and push down until all of the guac is touching the saran wrap. It's not rocket science.
okay but so what about people like me who want days of sauce that goes on my chips and tacos , etc. I have to pour out the calories of oil into my salsa every single time and get fat to do this? WHY must you go brown on me! such a beautiful green when it begins!
Olive oil? I’m so confused. Why not just squeeze lime/lemon on top? My guac always stays green for like 2-3 days, and most likely by day 2 it’s already gone 😂😂
I squeeze lemon in and it stays in my fridge up to 7 days easily (if it lasts that long)
You could also us lime
@@kaliiebeyer7317 very true even jus citric acid whatever your flavor is👍
True, I dont mix the lime with the guac, instead I smooth it out and squeeze the lemon on top so it covers all the surface and mix before eating 👌
@@kaliiebeyer7317 Lime does go much better with guacamole!

Yeah its like natural citric acid
Yeah and I don’t get the seed
I agree. You puy olive oil on houmous not guacamole.
No need to be racist she’s not Latino or Hispanic and she can have her own way on how to do it.
What’s wrong with oil .. get a life.. avocado is not made just for you Latinos
If, you squeeze lemon all over it it’ll stop it from browning as well.
I think this option is more easier and simple
@@pleasuredesire but guacamole literally has lemon/lime…
Okay what is wrong with me?? I misread lemons as humans lol. You gotta squeeze human all over it? 😍😍

For those that are worried about the extra
calories from the oil lemon juice has
the same effect💯🥑🍋
Instead of using olive oil, you could use lime juice and do the exact same thing you did.
That doesn't work. All you need to do is press plastic wrap down all the way onto it to orient oxidation. It's not rocket science people.
Americans... You already know they confuse CULTURE.
Any decent guacamole has lime or lemon juice in it. Put in the airtight container in fridge and it will stay green and pretty for days.
Use a 1/4 teaspoon of Fruit Fresh mixed in Works on avocados and all fruits that brown once cut into.
Squeeze pouches work too. They keep it air tight and it's supper satisfying to get that straight line of delicious green avacodo.
Prepworks makes an amazing container for guacamole . It has a gasket in the lid you press down so it pushes all the air out .
It's on Amazon?
@@mizbootsie8175 yes .
This is good. Im allergic to lemon so i like this method

Thats what I thought too. Oily guacamole....no thanks

Lemon or Lime people!
Not really. Avocado already has avocado oil

My seeds are too big for a shot glass! I can't find the perfect size container
Love this idea! I’m going to try it 🤩
You're so beautiful and you're videos are amazing too.
Lemons also work with preventing browning of apple slices
You could also do lime or literally just use avocado oil if you don't want the taste of olive oil.
Will try it. Thanks for sharing.
People are saying squeeze lemon on it and it also works. But who says people want their guacamole to taste like lemon juice lolz
guacamole usually has lemon/lime😭

UM THATS HOW YOU MAKE GAUC??? WTF ARE YOU WHITE?
Cultural appropriation is endless
You can bake the seeds then grind into a powder. Add to smoothies. Lots of nutrients
She's beautiful
tap it down on ur counter pretty hard and u will manually push the air bubbles out, lasts a lot longer
I saw a video, I can’t remember which one but they put a slice of lemon over the guacamole to keep it from browning.
citric acid wont help THAT much. the most important thing is the exposure to air.
Yes lemon and cover
Olive oil is a BIG NO
You can also use lemon for a more healthy alternative
I actually put a little bit of Mayo or sour cream (about half a spoon full) and it won’t brown at all!
An awesome substitute that is not only anti bacterial but better for health and planet is a beeswax wrap
Muy bien!! Guacamole! O ponle limón y también no se oxida😊👍
Thank you for this tip
Squeeze a lime in your guacamole n it doesn’t turn brown too
Interesting. Ty for sharing.
Wow thank you for this

Squeeze of lemon juice and wrap it in aluminium. Will stay perfectly green and no brown spots for agesssss.
Yup I do this all the time it also helps to Put it In an air tight container and then press the plastic wrap onto the guac
I always cover mine with vinegar hot sauce and lemon juice and it stays green and tastes good
Happens with fruits and veggies It's called enzymatic browning, just prevent oxygen/air contact on the surface and you're good
I compact mine down as flat as possible in the bottom of a bowl, then pour a small layer of water over top. It’ll stay separate as long as you don’t stir it.
This way it doesn’t affect the flavor with olive oil or lemon juice
Thanks for the tip. We can now eat green guacamole. 😋
Lime juice works as well😊😊😚
Or lemon juice
I store half avocados in a tub with a slice of onion and I works really well 👍
I never EVER knew this hack. Thank you!! I’ll definitely try the oil and also try the lime juice to see which I prefer. Thanks everyone
All Mexicans are shaking their heads right now
All Latinos are shaking their heads, including this one.
Usually I just put Saran wrap on and then water and then maybe a lid and then put it in the fridge
don't Use Olive oil, use lime juice
Or lemon juice.
The seed actually does help
Guacamole no wacamole! Love
I squeeze a good green lime all over it and it stays good for up to week or two
Sprinkle some paprika over the guacamole and it prevents it from oxidising c
Lemon is key even with apples
I saw on Netflix that you should put the seed in a bowl of water and put the guacamole next to it.
Or lemon, the vit c protects it from browning. Same with potatoes and apples

Lemon 🍋 will do the trick; it’s an old hack and it taste yummy in guacamole 🥑
Tip from a Mexican housewife. Just add lemon. Which is actually how most Mexicans eat it.
Lemon juice prevents browning, too. Easy.
This hack will help me out because my family doesn’t like lime or lemon in their guacamole.

A small bit of citric acid and mine won’t brown at all
I just use lime juice. Not sure how olive oil and guac would taste 😅😅
My problem is I NEVER have any leftover.

What about avocado oil?🤔

A little lime and the pit does it…(no olive oil)
