Nintendo and Square Enix relations do seem to have warmed up in recent years, so maybe that sort of possibility's starting to look more likely.
I couldn’t put this game down! I loved everything! And the characters are all so loveable!! I finally got to see Geno! And Mallow is really cute! And this is probably the most adorable Mario and Peach have ever been! And Bowser was pretty awesome as always!
I guess you never got to play the SNES original? Either way, having played the Remake, I can definitively say that things are WAY better than ever before. But, most of the original dialogue is retained, with a bunch of new dialogue that fits in like a glove. Just a fantastic remake all around.
It's amazing to see so many new people enjoying this game. It really is a special part of my childhood as well.
Imagine a sequel. Travel to another Kingdom with this artstyle. Amazing.

Paper mario isn't not a sequel to Mario RPG. It's a spiritual successor maybe. But the stories are not intertwined

I recommend Mario, Geno, and Peach for the main story for power and healing. Mallow can also be helpful for elemental use so swap Geno for him if you must.
Yeah my party was mostly mario mallow and peach. For the final battle i had mario, geno and peach because for me that's the strongest party
Game is so easy, a healer really isn't necessary until you hit the after game content
Loved the game. Maxed out everyone's levels, beat all the postgame bosses, enjoyed my time with this charming and faithful remake. Would love to see more games like it get made, sequels or otherwise.
Ah the days of renting this gem numerous times during the SNES days! Can't wait to finally try it out on Switch!

Once again, thank you for such a faithful remake. I cannot stress enough how much I love this game.
The best armor in the game is the Super Suit and you obtain it by doing 100 super jumps consecutively in one turn. It's one of the most challenging game tasks I've ever completed!

This is such a beautiful, delightful remake of an endearing classic. Whether or not you played the original SNES version, this game is definitely worth checking out!
I stuck with Geno and Mallow for the main game to make the most of having them for as long as possible but the post-game made Peach mandatory.
I used Mario, Peach, and Bowser. Mario for FP attacks, Peach for healing, and Bowser for physical attacks.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't mention that Mallow has healing as well, admittedly no where as good as Peach but mix in his elemental magic and he's definitely the red mage to her white.
Mario, Geno, & Bowser we're my Winning Mario RPG Team. Perfect Balance of Attack, Defense, & Magic.
Nintendo, I have to thank you for providing us with the most perfect remake. I still remember playing this when it came out in 1996. Playing it again in a new form in 2023 was more than anyone could have asked for and it gave so many younger gamers an opportunity to play this masterpiece. I hope you see how much demand there is and give us a true sequel to the game. We need Geno back in action (and we need him in Smash as well!) There are so many things you could do with it, and I can't wait to see what you can come up with!
For those on the fence, you need to play this game. There is so much charm packed into this. Fun game play, good story, lovable characters. It's a sprint (as it was an SNES game) but it's so worth it.
Mario+Peach+Geno was essentially the win button in the original. Idk if that’s still true here.

just finished this game for the first time a few hours ago and loved it! always been a fan of paper mario since i was a kid so i had to check out the precursor to the series and i ended up having a blast! I enjoyed how much of a challenge it was at times
As I child I always played with Mario, Peach and Bowser. Mario and Peach because they were a necessity and I liked Bowser so he was there by choice.
Which, for the remake I chose to go with Mario, Mallow and Geno. Surprisingly enough, Mallow turned out to be really good because as a child I couldn’t read and had no idea there where elemental weakness and such.
I just finished this game two days ago. I used mostly Geno and Bowser for offense and Peach for healing support mostly during boss fights.
As much as I love this game, I would still like to see a revival of the Mario & Luigi series at some point.
You mean NON-remakes of Mario & Luigi, right? Because 1&3 were brought to 3DS and ended up putting Alpha Dream out of business (even though they were amazing remakes).
@@LycanLinkThe problem is that they were released on the dead 3DS instead of the new and popular switch. If the remakes were for the switch they could have sold MILLIONS.

Mario, Peach (with frying pan), Geno. Geno Boost stacks each use, and Peach keeps everyone healthy and able.

True. It's a perfect remake but it's too easy the the MSRP should be $40 tops because the game is super short. You can beat it within 5-6 hours.

The post game additional boss battles are pretty tough. So is getting the Super Suit

I used Bowser and Geno the most. It was very good to see that characters could be switched. Peach was there to help when they all got one shotted.

i used mario, peach, and geno! mario can do massive damage, geno can be a jack of all trades with boosting, hitting all enemies, and being really fast, and peach with a lazy shell can tank, as well as healing and landing statuses! they all compliment each other really well!

I've always used Mario, Peach, and Geno. Especially after getting the Lazy Shell armor and Rare/Defense Scarf for Peach.
Mallow and bowser always love that duo especially now more because i love their limit break together
Most surprising game of me for last year. I have never been a big fan of RPG’s but loved Mario RPG. I honestly preferred it over Mario Wonder. Ever since I finished this game I have been enjoying Final Fantasy.

To answer the question, it is Mario, Geno and Peach. That combo is just so broken, although Mallow in some fights is better than Geno due to his elemental attacks being good against some bosses.
in most of my playthrough, i play mario, peach and geno, mallow is good but peach is s tier in what mallow do and bowser is basically for either special attack with mallow and mario or use has meat shield agains the 3d of the secret boss in monstro town (forgot is name)

I used Peach and Mallow most. Magic up almost everytime on Mallow, and used his first thunder skill(2MP). Made quick work of normal attack mobs! Clocked at 22 hours (level 27 party) when finishing.

I love the Mario RPGs!
Never played the remake, but my go-to team in the original was Mario, Geno (because of offensive magic), and Peach (defensive magic). Same as in Final Fantasy V's job system, at least one black mage for offensive magic and one white mage for defensive magic.
Yeah Geno is stronger in this remake and now life value is better for Peach.

i used Mario, Geno, and Bowser for the most part, but occasionally swapped one of them out for Peach (which helped me beat Culex 2D and Smithy first try)
I’m really happy they kept the theme from Final Fantasy 4 when you fight against Culex and Ms. Shinomura did a really good job on the music.

For the most damage, I use geno and bowser (Mario’s gonna be in every team) if I want specific weaknesses like lightning then I’ll probably replace geno for mallow, and obviously peach is amazing for healing so I’ll replace anyone to heal

My team was Mario, Mallow, and Bowser. I worked hard to fill the monster journal.
In the original version, I preferred to have Mallow and Peach in my party. Now with the introduction of triple moves, I prefer to have Mallow and Bowser because their move is the funniest thing I've seen. XD
I like mallow he's so cute and he looks like he can be used as a pillow which is great two
Mario, Mallow, and Peach. Quartz Charm or any attack boosting accessory on Mallow made him AOE everything to death with thunder or snowy! Peach kept us alive 😂

To be honest, I was expecting an expert remastered mode where you could play with the 5 at the same time, of course with battles hard AF
