For everyone asking, the movie is Tolkien, from 2019. I have somehow missed it, but will add it to my wish list.

And The Hobbit
Evidently John wrote some of his novels at a place called Hogsback in South Africa. It is a remote, hilly place with lots of trees and the mists hang around in the morning before the sun burns them off, a magical place.
There is a camp there called Hobbiton, and I was fortunate enough to spend a week there in 1964. Did not join the dots at the time, but did later on when we holidayed there.

In real life, Tolkien could not pursue Edith for various reason. She was of a different religion (the major obstacle) and older than him. If he had continued to pursue her, his financial allowance would have been cut off. When he reached 21, he looked her up again. She was engaged to someone else. She immediately broker the engagement.

I totally dismissed this movie as probably being lame, but now I am gonna check it out.
