A good little tip. when your'e screwing carpeted panelling on. Put a little slice in the carpet where the screw is going, then screw it, then cover the screw with the carpet. You can always find them again with a magnet.

I know it's tempting to use that EcoFlow unit to solve all your problems. However, having all the components individually will save you time and money in the long run. If a component becomes faulty in that EcoFlow, it's a single unit and you'll struggle to repair / source replacement parts.
Having all the individual components allows you to easily (usually) find the fault and replace it with the same or similar component.

Instead of BLACK carpet, try different shades of gray. At least it will not seem you are looking into a black hole. I did the same thing you did with black. I never used black again. Plus black shows all the dust, and any debris pieces that end up where you store things. And the gray is brighter than black and more pleasing to the eye.

Great video and congrats on finishing your van. Looks good. Great idea with the eco flow.. I’ve done the same but with the bluetti 200max.
Tip for you for charging. Get yourself an inverter for your main van with a remote switch so you can turn it on when needed. That way you can charge your power station using its AC charging. You’ll be putting around 400wats charge back into the unit. Works really well. I went over kill and got a 1000 watt inverter but 500 watt would have been enough

Good morning great video just want to say to you this a DC system is a pain in the backside you can spend so much money on a DC system and putting 240 volt into a van but if you look at The Brighter Side if you wire it up to the module system then plug directly straight into your battery system portable one then you can then remove any time and upgrade you don't have to fuss about wires because once it's all been modulated sorted for life but I have done a quite a few of these and sometimes it can be hit and miss but whatever you do I hope you find happiness in your van

On your cuoboard doors why not have doors that lift up and cover the frame work. You could also make the doors overhang the frame so when they are closed it creates a straight line to take your eye away from the slight offset from the scribe.

compromise on the packing for the wall cabinet. Instead of the "correct" 40 mm, go for 35mm to hide the gap. Not spot on perfect but a lot better than what you had.

Thank god,van builds are so old.
I use to really enjoy your content but got to be truthful, I unsubscribed while you've been doing your build.
Sorry only my opinion, doesnt make me a troll.comments can't always be positive,
Looking forwards to the channel returning to its core.

Don't know if I missed something here but there is nothing complicated about charging that leisure battery from solar. 2 cables (positive/Negative) to the Victron controller. 2 cables out to the controller to the battery. It really is that simple. Either there is a problem with the wiring, or the solar panel is dead or the controller is not working. Whatever, it seems ridiculous to just dump such a expensive and brand new system. (possibly decision influenced by the sponsorship?)

    Oh Shaun, nooooooooo
I enjoyed your build right up until you tried saying the eco flow was a better option than the Victron setup.
Pop up to Somerset and I’ll wire in the proper kit for you rather than messing around with a bodge to ‘hard wire’ a portable unit in.

I noticed one of your mppt controllers is flashing blue that happened to me and It was the cables from the solar panels were not connected properly. I hope that may help.

Looking good dude! On the subject of MPG, what are you getting out of it?

I’m not getting any at the moment as I’m not driving it due to the diesel leak but with the turbo issue I was only getting 20mpg. I’m hoping once the boost leak is sorted I’ll get more

Can you charge the Ecoflow directly from the alternator with a split charge relay?

    • @LoveSundays
      @LoveSundays  Před 8 měsíci

I can be plugged directly into the cigarette lighter in the van so it will charge when the engine is running
