I'm Swedish and I always loved the Stockholm death metal sound the best. Finally the Americans have brought it back to us.

what Jackie is saying is that they are tired of the cookie cutter sound out of sweeden and are happy that old school brutal shit like this is still being made. very common here in america just not as popular as some genre. so its harder to find in other countries that have tried to my some kind of hybrid shit. personally i like black tongue more than this but this is still good tunes. these guys remind me of a slightly different version of bolt thrower. i miss those guys.

I'd say "new" rather than "modern." When I hear "modern" I think of crap like Necrophagist, Soilwork, Origin, Decapitated, etc.

2020 and still bumping this album regularly!! When it comes to my death metal, black metal, hardcore, blackened hardcore or whatever other sub genres there are, I NEED bands to be ALL BALLS, and GateCreeper is one of those rare bands like Dragged Into Sunlight, Nails, and Pig Destroyer (first 2 full lengths especially) that take "ALL BALLS" to a new level!! Respect due!
