    If your current employer gets one, all those new features should help you out as a frequent single pilot flyer.

When I am away my daughter and sons all have unrestricted access to my phone, on return I keep on getting all sorts of notifications which makes not much sense to me. Years ago it was the wife who took away the tv remote and now kids taken away whatever was left. The joy of parenting apparently however I must say with age now I am beginning to miss family more on those long hauls. Anyway thank you for your participation.

    Laughed at the "Little Aircraft Carrier" remark. Two of the 4 carriers I flew on/off (not pilot) were USS Oriskany and USS Dwight D Eisenhower with flight decks of 888' and 1,092' respectively.
    When I did my private at NAS Lemoore I had to practice in the "Carrier Box" on the runway 32L, it was about 700 feet long.

    Impressive airplane and great job getting her down on that short runway. I have been in and out of KCDK several times. Nailing your speed and a stable approach is really key there and like you said, a go around is always an option. I know a couple pilots that flatted tires by locking breaks trying to get stopped when landing there. Taking off after dark there is also a challenge, especially if it’s overcast. It over the water with no visible horizon.

    Awesome! I just glanced at this video and hadn't been able to watch it until now. I landed at Albany NY yesterday and notice a TBM 940 sitting on the ramp. I took a picture because, well yeah! It was this bird! Ha! How random is that?!?!

    One of the things I liked about the TBM700 was the pilot door.

      Sky Flyer $80,000 is a lot for a door for sure, but to be honest, given this plane will set you back north of $4,000,000, I would skip it all together and go for a jet...faster, higher altitude, more space...

    • @johnnukecop
      @johnnukecop Před 5 lety

      I like the pilot door, but if you compare the left side cockpit window to the one on the right, the door frame results in a noticeably smaller window. I'm sure you could get used to i, but few of use us would want smaller cockpit Windows.

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 Před 5 lety +4

      @@johnnukecop Because the left window is closer to the pilot than the right window, the smaller size is not apparent due to the effect of perspective.

      @@johnnukecop very good point, also, i'd hate for that sucker to swing open during flight but I guess if there was a fire, you could bail and pull the rip-cord before anyone else.

    That was great. I love the TBM and the 940 is just great. The company I used to work for had the Starter Generator on the older models 700 and 800.
