How i cut my rev limiter wire to increase speed on my 2016 Kymco Super 8x 50cc Scooter. Went from about 28mph to about 35mph just from disabling the rev limit.
@@Logan_Neasbitt i did the same thing id say it goes faster but like for me only adds 5kmh and it pulls up slower since it goes full rpm when you throttle. Go for a sport cdi that has no limit.
Now the scooter does not reach full speed because the engine is getting too little fuel. Remove the carburetor and open the float bowl. In the middle is a copper nozzle. You can unscrew that. If the hole gets bigger, the engine gets more fuel. This can be done by means of a file set. For sprinklers.
2023 Super 8 50x worked on as well. Going downhill.. DOWN HILL! would go to 32 then back to 30!, just this one change alone i hit 36. Next step is the malossi variator multivar kit and kevlar belt. After that probably 82 carb yet, then if still need more may look at exhaust.
Adjust rev limter screw by front brake ....that will fix your throttle lag problem ...im no expert i saw somone else do it but i think its a safe assumption
@@henrilopes7337 Mine doesn’t have any purple wires. The far left bottom wire is green, and when I disconnect it the bike won’t run. Mine is 2022 and I don’t know which direction to go in now. Thanks for the reply. I desperately need for this thing to go faster.
The Super 8 has the gimped variator bushing, you can get them fairly cheap off of ebay. I did that to mine and got an extra 10km/h to my top speed. I'm scared to do any other modifications while it's still under warranty.
@@superleetmegapunx Mine is a 150 and it was not restricted by the variator bushing. I did get about 7mph top end gain with a Naraku race variator swap and some Dr Pulley sliders. Very simple mod. (WARRANTY IS EXPIRED ON MINE).
@@Thomaat116 no it does not work. What you need to do it take a hacksaw and cut a notch on the opposite side of the wires down about 3/8’s of the way through the box and you should see a copper wire. After you hit that you should be good to go and have gained about 5-7 mph
I looked at a pinout on Google of 6 pin and it looks like one is the signal wire and one is the ground. So the two wires all the way the left if you are looking at with the smaller clip with two pins on your right. In theory you should be able to take either out. I would recommend just taking the pin out of the plug instead of cutting
Then you probaly only have a variator ring. Check if there Are any wires from the variator to the cdi. If there is cut it, if there is not a wire there you will need to remove the variator and locate a small ring and remove this. But buying a Racing variator for 50-60$ will be the best option and give you the most top speed.

Thank you so much for this. I was stuck at 30 mph and I only weigh 140 lbs. This added at least 5 mph on flat ground. (Kymco 2022 Super 8 50X)

This worked I have a 2021 kymco super 8 50x and I cut the purple wire connecting to the CDI and it made me go from 30 mph to 35-36 mph

Some of these have a restrictor bushing by the variator--not sure of the Kymco.
