I'm so happy I found this video. Been going on 2 week since my surgery and they gave me this brace and was never told about the fixture, and what and how to use it. The only problem I've now is it keeps on sliding down when I sleep at night.

I had Quadracep Tendon Repair/reattach surgery 7 weeks ago. I was in a fixed brace until my last follow-up when I was given this new brace. The problem is that they positioned it and set it up like my 'fixed' brace, and like the 'fixed' brace, this one slides down to my ankle. This is currently positioned to be about 4 - 6 inches above my ankle. I will try to use the adjustment I just noted at about 5:45 minutes into this video to adjust the calf length. Hopefully that will work.
I broke my patella and my surgeon put me in this brace. Feels good when it’s on right but I can’t walk across the room before it slides down and I have no support for my knee. I’ve almost fallen twice in the 2 days I’ve had it. I’m gonna ask my doctor if there’s anything else I can use. I’d prefer not to break the other leg
This is the worst brace ever. How is it supposed to give you the correct support if it doesn’t stay where it’s suppose to. Sleeping is a total nightmare in this thing
I am currently in one of these for a tibial plateau fracture. I can’t keep it from sliding down my leg no matter how tight I put it on. I feel like I’m going to cut the circulation off I have it on so tight.
I have the same break. Did you continue using this brace? I think it's a joke. I just got home and it's down my leg -those knee things are mid-calf. Very ill-fitting.
@@susanmunday4817 I’m sorry that you broke your leg! I did continue to wear it. I always wore it over my pant leg and unfortunately, you have to really strap those straps super tight to make it stay. Like you think you’re going to cut off your circulation tight. I tried lengthening the bottom with the thought that if it sat on my foot it would stay, but that results in hurting your foot. In the evening when I knew I could be off my feet, I gladly took it off and used a soft, boned leg brace I ordered off Amazon to give myself a break from that horrible brace. I also never wore it to bed. That just wasn’t happening.
I’m in a brace for a surgical repair of a ruptured quadriceps tendon. I don’t have this brace, and my PT switched out the first brace I had for a similar model. Both slide down unless I cinch them very tight. My conclusion is that there’s just not a decent brace out there.
it's great when they put it on you, but when you go home and clean up, you need a technical education to put it on again. that' s my experience. what they need is color coding and numbered instructions

This brace can block extension depending on what degrees you want to lock it at but is not for drop foot.. probably best if you go to a physio or podiatrist for the correct brace for you
Crystal Weible mine is a piece of crap too. It always slides and after I’ve used it for about 3 weeks the Velcro won’t stick to the brace anymore. Can’t wait to get out of this.

I also have this splint on my leg. And it also slides down.

Is this brace any good for knee hyper extension and drop foot? How do I get more information. I live in France and have MS on my left side.
This brace can block extension depending on what degrees you want to lock it at but is not for drop foot.. probably best if you go to a physio or podiatrist for the correct brace for you

This is a piece of crap. No matter what I do it never ever stays in place. I have had it for 6 weeks and still have 6 weeks to go.

I agree! Slides down after 5 minutes of walking! No support when it slides all the way down!

I'm a little late, but I think you put them in the adjustable tabs on flexion and extension so that they are unable to move.
