Its useful for make drafts 1 and 2 but Once you get to 3 and 4 its up to you. Its also important to tell gpt to only use the datasets you've given it.

Right on point!! My biggest issue too writing up my paper is "getting lost in the words" AND the thoughts going through my mind!! Thank you yet again!!

It's not very useful for research in mathematics papers

Yep, it's mediocre at best for Papers that include alot of equations and formulas

Is the data confidential. I wrote an article. Can I upload to ChatGPT 4o and ask for feedback? Will they share my article somewhere before I get to publish it?

Generally, there are crowd workers that read user chats to improve response results. The chats go into training data. It's possible that ChatGPT reproduces parts of its training data to other users.
To prevent this, remember to set the "temporary chat" flag so your chat will not be used for training.

What happens when you make academic research even easier to produce? You get even more papers. FAR more than there are serious (human) reviewers to peer review. In other words, more garbage will fill even more journals and conference proceedings. Eventually, even the quality of AI (which refers to this material) will go down.

wish everyone thinks like you. People are surprisingly short sighted. Everything is losing value nowadays. And tech is making things lose value even faster. The very basic tenet of civilisation in ensuring society can sustain itself, is being undermined by tech, the very tool intended to improve civilisation in the first place. This is how short sighted the world is. They don't see how mass producing everything benefits only the boss, while making everyone slaves. The small businesses of custom made items are almost gone. The days of visiting experts to listen and learn something that only a few in the world can ever learn, are now history.

@KhoiNguyenDuyMinh-pk3nn It’s kind of like a college degree. The more people have them, the more worthless they become in the real world, if that’s even possible anymore.

@KhoiNguyenDuyMinh-pk3nnPrecisely, discerning signal from noise within the training data is liable to improve over time in spite of more noise.

The video does not match with title. The word technique is misleading. I was after how to use the tools to get most benefit out of that, but I got how cool is the results.

ChatGPT isn’t a source, so it probably couldn’t be cited directly. If you used AI to summarize several articles, then those articles should be cited. Nothing should go directly from AI to paper to professor without going through your own paraphrasing as well.

My only real concern with all this - AI is amazing for Research and dangerous for plagiarism and mental laziness.

It still lacks ability to give real papers and sources. ChatGPT always comes up with papers that don't even exist, which is disgusting - or does anyone knows how to fix that?

@totalnastoka, if you detest him so much and think he's not strong enough to be in academia, why are you watching his videos?
If you think someone is inferior, what does it say about you when you pay this much attention to his content?
