SuperCarlinBrothers: *observe*
Except Disney actually told the opposite.
They literally creaated actual Disneyverse, via their Disney Channel series Sophia the First (also it doesn't include big part of the ones included... but is generally way more vast), and even confirmed, that pretty much every movie that isn't set on Earth is in the Everrealm (actual name of the world of Sophia the First, the name Disneyverse wasn't actually used for that. )

Also, remember that Moana’s tribe was isolated for 1,000 years. Technology and norms must have changed in those times, possibly up to the same timeline as Rapunzel and Frozen.
Definitely. For all we know, Moana wouldn't need the magic life-extending flower--- she ALREADY exists at the same time as the other princesses.
6:28 they could be stuck on an island like these people from frozen 2.
Only if Moana is set in the 1830s then surly someone must have stumbled across it by now. Granted there are like 10,000 islands in Polynesia, so let's try narrowing it down. In the beginning of Moana grandma Tala has a map show that Motunui is south west of Tefiti, which I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say is based off the real life island of Tahiti because, c'mon Tefiti Tahiti it's pretty similar.
The type of boat Moana is sailing can travel up to 15 knots (17mph) and it travels that speed for about four days (96 hours) meaning Motunui is approximately 1632 miles from Tefiti. Wouldn't you know it there is an island 1630.5 miles southwest of Tahiti called the Ha'ano. That's only 1.5 miles off so pretty close. Also swap the H with an M and rearrange the first A and the O and it spells Moana. (just saying)
Okay so now all we gotta do is find out when Ha'ano was discovered by Europe. Well Ha'ano is part of a group of 51 islands called Ha'apai, located in northeast Tonga. Those were first discovered by Dutch explorer Abel Tasman in 1643. (almost 200 years before Frozen and Tangled) Then later after that several European explorers and since then several other explorers landed on the islands.
Yeah so seems safe to say Moana is set in ancient times, like how pretty much all the evidence and BTS featurettes say, and they're gonna use time travel to meet up.
yvng kayoz agreed. Maori and the Pasifika cultures are one of the latest cultures to be discovered. New Zealand is a very young nation for example.

I don’t think we really can be sure when moana took place because her island has essentially been frozen in time with nothing changing (basically the opening song) for so long that the events could have happened at the same time as tangled and frozen, but technology wouldn’t have advanced in the same way as nobody has left motunui for so long
yeah i thought they were just remote rather than being particularly ancient
@@YaayItszRhea There seems to be an odd belief for some people here that they have to be ancient because of the level of their society, but this is a Polynesian stand-in; their culture wouldn't have changed all that much until Europeans came along and even then would not instantly change. I hope the SCBs reasoning isn't based on some odd PC hesitance to assume Moana's society wouldn't be at the same level as the European stand-ins.
@@Fardawg there is some literature and interviews that say part of the inspiration for Moana came from a real historical 2000 year gap in which Polynesian explorers seemed to have stopped... Exploring. It was called the long pause and started about 3100 years ago. So if Moana takes place at the end of it, then it's about 1100 years ago setting the Moana time frame in about 920 AD. #mathbudget
It's a pretty cool theory actually!
I can definitely say that it doesn't take place in anywhere near present-day, because then there would have to be some sort of commercial planes or boats seen in the background

"Home grown cast of characters"
The Disneyverse is organic.
Martin McDonnell the word “Organic” doesn’t mean grown wild, it means that it’s natural, so if you have an organic apple, that doesn’t mean it was wild, it means there’s nothing extra added
Martin McDonnell just because it’s organic, doesn’t mean it’s not planned, look at *most* farms, they plan where they plant, what they plant, how they plant, what’s edible, what’s not edible, what’s used for healing. Organic doesn’t mean it’s not planned

And again rapunzel was in isolation
In Moana's post credit scene the big crab says "Can we be real, if my name was Sebastian and I had a cool Jamaican accent you would totally help me." Also when Maui finally get his magic hook back from the big crab one of the animals he turns in to is a fish that looks a lot like Flounder from The Little Mermaid and he also turns in to a reindeer that is absolutely Sven from Frozen. So I believe that all of the Disney moves are connected.

Here's what I propose as the story of this "Disneyverse":
Moana is the first movie in the timeline, and Moana, or one of her ancestors, finds the flower and thinks its a sign that they are meant to use the power to live on, and over time, more land forms and the island of ta fiti becomes Arendelle. Moana survives the entire time, each chief leaving the rocks that eventually form her tower, and Moana stays seperate from the people, fearing what her influence could do to them. Meanwhile, on her original island, tales have been passed down through the ages of a young chief with mastery over water, and they are able to, with that connection, make connections to the other spirits and master the elements, as we see with the northaldra people.
Moana then panicks, as the flower that has allowed her to rise above all limitations, even time, gifted to her by te fiti, is plucked. She tries to avoid what happened with the heart and get it back but it is too late, but she realizes the flower is now in a baby. She then takes repunzel, out of wanting to avoid the same conflict that happened with the heart, and wanting to spare the people of the gods wrath. But, realizing she can't return the flower to its location, stays as close as possible, the tower she lives in, and keeping it there, fearing what might happen if the Gods find out about what she assumes would be treachery. Little does she know the Gods do not care about this flower, and in the end, the ways of the past are finished when Moana, out of the fear she gained of the Gods, ends up killed by it, and the seeming last trace, is lost forever, with the cutting of repunzel's hair.
A few years later, Repunzel and her husband Eugene go to the coronation of the kingdom right across the way, wanting to suppor this other kingdom, and finds more magic is at play.
The tales are passed down of magic, magic that could potentially do anything but the connection to it is lost through the years, only existing in the long dormant dragons, and as San Fransokyo forms, they learn to respect the dragons, for their mighty ability over the powers of nature, and some businesses want to tap into this magical energy as well. A young callahan finally does, but loses control of it, until Hiro learns how to control it, and decides its a technology only for emergency use.
However, one day, one dragon decides to turn on the rest, and now a young dragon rider named Arya must rise up to the task... But when she fails, she must turn the local super hero group Big Hero 6.
Hiro hears of the coming danger and sees it, and decides the only way to combat this new threat, is to go back in time to when magic was plentiful, and learn how to master it.
Unfortunately, the evil Dragon follows. And ends up breaking the timeline, causing all time to go out of whack, and resulting in a world lost to time.. where now, a younger moana, Elsa, Anna, Arya, and big hero 6 team up, and try to stop the larger threat. But, when they still fail, Hiro tries to engineer a brand new hero. ONly to accidentally bring Ralph, and Penelope, to life, and with all their skills together, fight to save not just the world or universe, but all of time and space itself.
and at the end, the heroes give each other heartfelt goodbyes, as they all return to their time and place. And the greatest sacrifice, was that none of them remember what happened, and Arya had to give her life as master of dragons, and the elements.
That would be amazing!!!
The premise that Te Fiti becomes Arendelle falls apart because Te Fiti is in Polynesia and Arendelle is in the North Sea (Arctic Ocean)
Definitely crystal clear and not at all confusing.
@@HridithSudev I mean, true. Its not impossible though, given Te Fiti is a living Goddess and if she wanted to she could just get up and walk over to the north sea and lay down again. Though I will admit it is unlikely.

SCB: *explaining Disneyverse theory*
Meanwhile in Disney HQ: "WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!"
We can’t assume that Moana is set in the distant past. They point out in the movie that they don’t change their traditions “the dancers are practicing, they dance to an ancient song ‘who needs a knee song this ones all we need’” and it’s been a long enough time that everyone (except the chiefs) forgot that their people were voyagers. So it’s been a long time since their people travelled beyond their remote island to explore the world. In the real world, if it wasn’t for European colonisation, much of the remote people in the world would stay remote. So Moana could theoretically exist anytime before colonialism. The only time we can say she doesn’t exist in is now because surely planes ect would have flown by.
This was exactly my thought. When Ben said it was too far in the past I thought he was wrong. He’s actually not. The isolation of Moana’s tribe isn’t fully fiction, the reasoning was but Pacific Islanders did stop voyaging for a millennium by around 1000 BCE. It was also confirmed that Moana was set 3000 years ago. 2016 - 3000 = -984 which means it was about 984 BCE. Rapunzel in contrast was set in 1780’s. Crazy!
@@SamanthDarling finally someone else does research before commenting. Only isn't Tangled set in the 1830s just before Frozen? If it's set in the 1780s she would be like 80 when she cameos in Frozen.
422rds honestly, I took mother gothel’s info page at face value when it said 1780 but considering how long Gothel was trying to stay alive and beautiful, I am leaning towards you being correct about it being 1830 rather than 1780.

Counsadince I think not 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I would love to see how you guy think Raya and Encanto fit into this "Disneyverse" theory! I love the idea of all the disney renaissance movies being in the same timeline. Also, it's not that far of stretch with the time travel thing now either because Encanto literally has a character whose power is time related. How much of a stretch is it to say that the Madrigals powers grew after Casita was rebuilt, resulting in a sort of "Gift upgrade" and Bruno's powers to see the future sort of grew to literally manipulate time itself?
We already have a crossover house of mouse why does everyone forget this

Moana doesnt need to time travel, as u said she lives on an island. while britain was building stonehenge Egypt was making the pyramids of giza. it is entirely possible that moana takes place on an islad thats just really unadvanced. there would be no need for her to live forever that way

Tarzan is related to Anna and Elsa....
Anna and Elsa's parents were on a ship, the ship sank and they suposubly died but....Tarzan's parents showed up on the island after a shipwreck and they had brown eyes and brown hair just like Anna and Elsa's parents. Okay so after watching this video I have come up with multiple ideas to what might fit this theory. One Tangled has a show as I am sure most of you are aware of and in this show they say that there is only one Sun Drop Flower and there is only one Moonstone. That said, I believe that the spot where we see that flower in Moana is not necessarily a different flower but the same one and on that spot is where it was in Tangled meaning that the island where Moana lives later becomes Corona or at least an area very near Corona. Two when Ben mentions the idea of Elsa having seen Baymax and believing him to be a snowman I couldn't help think that Disney could very likely pull off a scene where Hiro is practicing using time travel and misses up to the point where both he and Baymax goes too far into the past and happens to stumble on Elsa. And of course as we see in the video she could just believe that Baymax is a snowman. Finally relating to my last sentence, I would also like to bring up the cameo of Sven that we see in Moana when Maui is not able to use his fishhook correctly. I believe that happens for one reason. Sven somehow go stuck in Moana's time briefly. Moana's setting is primarily tropical not to say that the rest of the world doesn't exist but I believe that as Ben mentions Moana is in a time way before Frozen so it is highly unlikely that Maui traveled to Arendlle and saw him by chance. The argument against this is of course that maybe Maui saw a reindeer in his travels around the world but the reindeer in that cameo scene looks identical to Sven. I feel like I write too much sorry, but I felt the need to express these few ideas that came to me.

Disney: That would be cool but image all the wierd new ships :O
It’s weird to think that Fred is related to both Hans and Stan Lee.
Dewit you have 66 likes... this comment killed all the Jedi
Ultra meta idea, proposed time travel tales are passed down through Fred's family of joint ventures between a group of vastly different people stopping enemies aplenty and Stan Lee makes these tales into an in universe marvel comics
Disney: House of mouse did this.
Theory: that not real
I think House of Mouse implied all the characters are "animated actors" (in a Roger-Rabbit-sorta way) who filmed the Disney films. Meaning the movies themselves don't seem to be in the same universe, but on another meta-level their "actors" are.
I just need house of mouse on Disney Plus...

from what i remember, the lamp from Aladdin is also in Tamatoa’s collection on his back and the magic carpet is in Moana’s village, Flounder is in the song “You’re Welcome”, and the turtles are supposed to be Crush and Squirt!
I want a comp. of every ‘hey brother’ ever like that vine of the teacher saying hello over and over.
There's this one: czcams.com/video/gmNJTSyNQ5w/video.html
But yeah, an updated version would be amazing!!!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀
Another form of time travel was actually introduced in Tangled: the Series. In the show Rapunzel finds an hourglass that sends her back in time. And she needs to find the past version of the hourglass to get back to her normal time, while teaching young Eugene an important lesson about honesty and friendship.
However the big zinger to all of this is that when you go back in time you takeover the body of whoever you were closest to in the past. Meaning that anyone could have gotten their hands on it and go back in time to Moana and be hiding in plain sight. That kid who gave Moana a weird smolder look that could have been Flynn River.
But wouldn't they have to be in the same area for this to happen. When rapunzel goes back in time, she is in the same spot she was before traveling back. So if the tangled characters could get on the island, this could work. (Plus I'm pretty sure they get stuck on an island in an episode, so that might be a start)
Man this theory u made was like 🤯
@@BK-wb9oq I wouldn't count on that island being Motunui for a few reasons.
1. In the Season 3 premier, we see a map Rapunzel drew of their journey from Corona to the Dark Kingdom, and on that map we see the island is called Terapi Island.
2. If Motunui was the same island then we would probably see all the leaf people on the island in Moana which we don't.
3. (Hope you like geography 'Cause it's a big part of this last part). On the map a compass shows that Corona is somewhere south west of the Terapi Island, meaning that it's somewhere in northern Germany. Judging by the geography of her map (that's right I went so extreme for this that I got out a map and lined up Rapunzel's with it) I managed to determine that Trischen is the real life location of Terapi Island, and that the island of Neuwerk to be the real life location of Corona. (Que applause).
Now both of those places are in north west Germany and Moana is set in Polynesia, and (according to film theory) 2,626 km away from Te fiti which I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say is based on the real life location of Tahiti. We know Motunui is south west of Te fiti based off grandma Tala's map at the beginning. So we're looking for an island 2,626km south west of Tahiti, I give you Ha'ano an island 2,624km south west of Tahiti, (also I don't think it's a coincidence that if you swap the H with an M and rearrange the letters you can spell Moana), and I have also determined that the real life location of Maui's island to the island Niue, and the location of Tomatoa's Lair to be the Cook Islands just south east of that.
Now you might be wondering "what does this have to do with anything?" Well this tells us that Terapi Island and Motunui can't be the same place because if it was then Rapunzel would have to travel 16,189km by hot air balloon over the course of about 2 or 3 hours and same thing for her birthday lanterns. Also because we don't see any of the leaf people.
@@422rds wow, that was detailed and impressive. (I like a lot of detail). That makes sense. I wrote that when I was half asleep, possibly why it might not make sense. Thanks for all the explanation.

Something I'd love to see an SCB take on: who's the most powerful Disney villain? We've got powerful witches, an evil fairy, an all-powerful genie, and literal gods. Who would win in a fight? Which hero's accomplishments are most impressive, considering the villain they defeated?
Chernabog from Fantasia is the most powerful Disney villain.
Hey guys, I’m vinny from Brazil, English teacher, love your channel. I wanted to give you guys a hint about the time distance between the stories, particularly between moana and the “medieval” ones ( not sure about the exact century Tangled and Frozen, and very likely would Raya take place). The thing is, I was doing some research about Polynesian culture, and according to historical and archeological evidence, the Polynesians started settling their homes on the pacific islands starting from Southern Asia archipelagos and than SUDDENLY stopped. It was only after something like a thousand years later that they started exploring again and continue to occupy the rest of the pacific, eventually reaching Hawaii and New Zealand. For this reason, as well given the quantity of chief stones on the top of moto nui, and also not knowing exactly when moana takes place (Polynesians didn’t quite change their cultural, behavioural, technological and social ways much to allow us to search for clear evidence in moana to suggest what period in Polynesian history we are talking about), maybe moana IS coexisting in the same period that frozen and tangled take place. It was just a hint, and maybe evidence that moana’s story is just happening somewhere in the freaking massive and hardly explored (at that time) PACIFIC OCEAN, really far away from Europe of Arendel and etc.. Just something that occurred me, maybe you guys could pick this line of thinking up to do your magical math and see if it actually applies.
I came through the comments becaus I’m not really fond of social networks such as twitter and Instagram, hope you guys read it.

Maybe that means this Raya could be called by the sky? Or the wind?
Tangled is called to the outside

After listening to this video, I do recall a Mickey Mouse Movie from the early 2000s called Mickey's House of Villains. Would that count or not? All the Disney Villains try to take over like an award show if I'm not mistaken
GUYS I know I'm like months late and I don't know if anyone's thought of this but what if Moana's island was the place that Rapunzel's ancestors settled. In Corona lore they say a kingdom grew around the sundrop flower, but what if there had been indigenous people there that they pushed out to build that kingdom? We have of course the sundrop as proof of the two being connected and the fact that Corona is also an island, though it is much closer to the mainland than Moana's island was. I know there's the obvious point about how Moana's island is kind of tropical while Corona isn't but what if that had something to do with the magic of the island reacting to the colonists (Rapunzel's ancestors). We've seen both in Moana and in Frozen II how the spirits and the land can react to the people inhabiting it.
If there was some way for them all to meet I think it would be really cool If we got those water spirits that show memories exposing to Rapunzel the fact that her people actually pushed out the indigenous group (Moana's people) and she had to travel into the past with one of Varian's inventions or an ancient Demanitus invention (Tangled the series characters) to understand what happened before trying to find the small groups of Moana's descendants that remain somewhere on Corona and make amends.
Speaking of Lord Demanitus, for those that have watched Tangled the series, for me it was always a question of how did he figure out the sundrop and moonstone incantations. We know he did research but that's the extent of what we know. Since he lived in a much more ancient Corona, it would be reasonable to guess that more of Moana's descendants would have been around. We know from the movies that Moana's people were very connected to the spirits and perhaps knew these incantations because of that connection. Demanitus could have found them and learned from them as part of his research. While Demanitus did use magic, he was also very scientific and I feel like to come across those incantations a certain spiritual connection would be necessary, one that wouldn't really fit his character (or at least my perception of his character). It makes a lot more sense that he would have discovered them from a far more spiritual people.
Anyways that's just my thoughts on this for now, if anyone else has more ideas about this feel free to expand.
Okay just to add a bit more of the rational. We hear over and over "a single drop of sun fell" or something like that but the point is "a single drop" -- that means there should only be ONE sundrop flower. You could hypothesis that there were more drops and they say single because they only know of one, but I feel like there is only one -- especially considering the events of Tangled the series. That means you either have to accept that it is just an Easter egg animators put in just to have fun or figure out how it is in both places. From there I see two possibilities: either the sundrop was moved from Moana's island to Corona some how or it is, in fact, the same island.
About the tropical island v. not tropical island thing. We know Corona is based on Germany, but honestly the sunny climate and agriculture (especially as shown in the series) does not really seem like Germany all that much... almost more tropical. Not anything conclusive but more to think on.
I could imagine the cross over being the BH6 team go back in time to find hans to fix something or someone almost as if theyre stopping him from doing something to prevent this from happening however, they're unable to find him but bump into Elsa. They tell Elsa the issue and ask for help but, she can't help them however she has a friend who can, they then go hunt down Rapunzel who sadly can't actually help due to Eugene cutting her her and losing her powers so, they need to find the golden flower possibly she knows it as the golden flower of Te fiti or something along those lines. They discover where Te Fiti is and travel back to that time and then with the help of Moana's Grandma/sting ray she helps them find her and Maui and they travel across the see to deliver the people to Te Fiti. They then find the flower, give it to rapunzel, her hair changes back and they travel to the future to fix what was wrong.
Theory: Disney has begun to use SCB as a test bed for new storytelling. The better a theory of theirs performs, the better likelihood they have of incorporating it into their movies.

But of course.

There is also a theory out there that some of Han's brothers are other Disney Princes. I don't remember all the details but the theory posed that Prince Eric, the Beast, & the Prince Charmings' from Snow White & Cinderella were some of Han's brothers. That is why Beast is alone in an old castle & can marry a commoner like Belle, why Eric can go to sea/be unsupervised, & why the Charmings can marry commoners (or think are commoners in Snow White's case). As for clothing/technology differences, well in olden times different places had different fashions & technologies & more rural/"provincial" places tended to lag behind the urban/trade centers.
Disney: I am here to talk about Princess Assemble Initiative. And also the Tafiti Spiral looks like Northuldra tribe gathering when they first met Anna and Elsa
So is Snowers the Nick Fury or the Iron man of this universe.

6:10 You said Moana was "way too far in the past". However, there was a time polynesians stopped voyaging in real life. The time they would have started exploring again would be between 500-1500 AD. Since it is a fictional universe, would it be too far of a stretch to say that it is possible they only started exploring again a bit later, say, in 1800? If we assume that, it would be plausible the timelines add up.
