    This week on Embroidery Hub, Laura attempts to embroider a patch using a trash bag as stabilizer! Inspired by one of our customers, Jeff Rosario, this project is definitely unique but Laura is ready to put it to the test and see if this method actually works! Stranger Things have happened…

    Thanks soooooo much for this tip. DEFINITELY a money saver on supplies. We generally include plastic (any plastic can be used but we save the plastic that our tshirts come in) as a 3rd layer on our patches. It helps to keep the patch nice and firm. These are non-thread patches. Bow I can just use this method when were doing a stitch/thread based patch. Wow!!!

    Very Cool!!! First time I have seen anything embroidered using a trash bag. Also .... very cool on the using of Saran Wrap. Have a joyful and blessed day.

    Could you put this patch on something you intend to wash/dry regularly?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Před 5 lety

      Hi Josephine! This was the first time we attempted creating a patch like this, so we have not personally put this to the test. However, I do believe it should be able to hold just as well as another patch. My favorite method for creating patches is with felt as a base. Does the plastic mess with the machine's longevity? Like will it mess it up over time?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Před rokem

      Hi! There is no negative effects with you embroidering with plastic, just make sure you are using aqua topping for your designs!

    Needless to say you would not use an iron on adhesive to adhere the patch to a hat/shirt because of the plastic. Assume it would have to be sewn on only.

  • @cathyscreationandvlog4224

    I have never heard of an all thread patch 🤔I'm trying to find your video not having very good luck

      Good question! Perhaps we'll do a follow up video and see if this is possible.
