I worked in Liverpool for a few months and spent all day cycling around every area. It was definitely depressing in some areas. But the whole time I was there, no matter how rough the area, I never had a single negative encounter with anyone. Everyone was either cheerful, nice or no bother.

I could write an essay on how the working class of this country have been shat on by every post war government & beyond. But i'd rather say this. I've never lived in liverpool but i have been there many times as a visitor & worked with numerous scousers & i can say hand on heart they along with the geordies are the best people i have ever met. I'm welsh but feel properly blessed that throughout my working career i just happened to end up working with a number of scouse lads & i swear from the bottom of my heart, they are the best, funniest, most straight up people i have ever met. I went to university in manchester & the mancs were always spitting venom about the scousers. But i will tell you now, from personal experience....mancs start off assuming you are an enemy until you prove otherwise. Scousers assume you are a friend until you prove otherwise. And i promise you that is from personal experience. If you are from outside the uk or even if you are a brit & you've never been to liverpool you absolutely have to put this city on your 'to do' list. God bless you liverpool, you are among the very best of us.

It was a family orientated area, children playing out, and parents out, a marvellous sight to witness, then this happened, and the top of Breck Road and that so-called park, houses cleared to make way for it, and then the council complained that the council tax revenue had dropped. Liverpoo FC and their corporate skullduggery are largely responsible for the area deteriorating over time as it has by buying empty buildings and leaving them empty, this in turn decreases the value of property in the area so the 'Mighy LFC' can land grab on the cheap to extend the stadium. Anfield, along with several other suburbs in Liverpool, is an absolute shithole. Liverpool Football Club and Liverpool City Council are responsible for this, 80% of the people are good people though. He is 100% correct on the football club though. They allow the places to become so run down until the numbers cant be balanced with their own investment..then can then bundle it all up in to packages and sell them off for £1 to "Regeneration Charities" part of the deal is normally the regeneration charity has to provide a local community space once its complete. They have beem doing it for years. Some of it has been positive from what I can remember. But seems not all is effective.
