the way Kishimoto gave his female characters all these incredible natural gifts, skills, and talents and yet still ignored them or made their development end at 'i have a crush on this guy' or 'im pregnant now' is so tired and transparent tbh. can you IMAGINE how much more attention Tenten, for example, wouldve gotten from Kishimoto if she were part of the group of male leads? with THOSE legendary weapon skills?! i dont care if ppl think im strawmanning either, Kishimoto admitted on record that he sucked at writing women and oh boy does it show. mans said that with his whole chest and then never sought to fix it or improve 💀

Yeah I hate that the female cast feel like they had about 5% of the time and effort put into writing them that the male cast got. They are all just support characters.
Even the only female hokage got portrayed as weak and useless in combat compared to any of the other kage's past and present and even compared to the other 2 legendary sannin. Saved by Naruto from Kabuto. Saved by Naruto from Sora (filler but still) and saved by Naruto from Pain. Plagued with a bunch of weaknesses (afraid of blood, addicted to alcohol and gambling, short temper) and her only strength being healing (which again would make her a support character as even as the 1st's grand daughter she didn't have any of his powers such as insane automatic healing and wood release) and had to store chakra in advance to use anything impressive. Kage is supposed to be strongest in the village and they made Tsunade out as a fragile old lady who's only time she tried to be at the front of a battle (against pain) had to get escorted away to go into a coma. And the depressing part is she has probably the most screen time (besides sakura) and character depth of any of the female cast pre-boruto.
You could tell that his nerd ass gets no bitches from how he writes female characters.
Kishimoto even underdeveloped the hyuga clan plot with neji & hinata. We didn't see hinata & neji get to change their clan, the change just happened
another way Rock Lee can be useful is by actually learning the "Drunken Fist". We saw his potential in the the Sasuke Retrieval arc and how it hinted he would differ from Guy... and yet nothing came of it.
The current problem with that is we don't know if he can combine Drunken Fist with Eight Gates. Even if it did, it would come off as less dramatic than funny.

While there is a trope with the Drunken Fist often shown in the media that a require person has to be drunk or consantly drinking, that isn't actually the case and a person can learn it without the need of alcohol, as seen with Metal Lee. During the 1st timeskip, Guy could have taught Rock Lee about this style of fighting.
The Eight Gates would fit in with the Eight Gods of Drunken Boxing:
The God Lu (great inner strength) with the First Gate of Opening, removing mental blocks and inhibitions.
The God Li (cripple with a powerful right leg) with the Second Gate of Healing, increasing physical strength and reinvigorating the user.
The God Han (fat and holding a pot in his arms) with the Third Gate of Life, which turns you red and allows you to perform Reverse Lotus, carrying and slamming down something heavy.
The God Lan (with a sudden and deadly waist attack) and the Fourth Gate of Pain, further increasing speed and causing your muscles to rip apart.
The God Chung (swift double kicks) and the Fifth Gate of Limits, further increasing speed and strength in sharp bursts.
The God Tso (with a powerful throat lock) and the Sixth Gate of View, allowing the Morning Peacock technique and creating a visible aura around the user. Even further speed and strength boost.
The God Han (plays a flute and has powerful wrists) and the Seventh Gate of Wonder. Your sweat vaporizes instantly, and you can perform Daytime Tiger, which creates single punches that compress the air and imparts incredible concussive force.
Finally, the God Miss Ho (flaunts her body flirtariously) and the Eight Gate of Death, which activates when you pierce your chests character points. This heats your body up and cooks you from the inside, while granting power hundreds of times normal.
Combining these concepts would be incredibly interesting.
I like the idea of Kiba and Tenten roaming the world together looking for their own treasures, be they blades or beasts. Tons of potential there.
Also shino traveling the world to find new chakra insects
Fuck it just have them be a three man/woman squad and go around in their own canon adventures getting stronger. Meanwhile giving Naruto all the other 7 tailed beasts would be incredibly fun to watch him utilize all the powers of each tailed beast in a fight. He would ask them each for help in certain abilities/powers. Wow the show has a lot of untapped potential tbh.

Ino did fall through the cracks but now she is one of the most valuable citizens of Konoha: she co-founded children's clinics, she is the head of the Sensory Division, the Interrogation Squad, she created the sensory barrier, she keeps everyone linked together during Kara invasions (Delta and Isshiki)...Ino had a *MASSIVE* character glow up after Shippuden. But I've loved her since the war arc.

If anything I'd just have her discover, learn, perfect and improve the Yamanaka techniques that Fu Yamanaka used during his time in Root so she could become a much bigger threat during a fight
If I am not mistaken from scenes we have seen, she mastered her mind/sensory techniques to a extremely high level that she can link her self to the sensory bubble without the equipment as she easily detected Jiren

I would have liked to see Sakura differentiate herself from Tsunade in some ways. One cool method for that could have been taking inspiration from kabuto’s chakra scalpels and combining it with the massive strength. As titanically powerful as a blunt impact is from her fists, it’d be orders of magnitude more damaging if it was from a razor sharp chakra scalpel.
Or maybe let her take inspiration from Kankuro and Chiyo's strings to create long range chakra tethers to allow remote healing. Or allow her to be hooked up to more than one person at a time, allowing her to operate on multiple patients.
Combine booth and let her use puppet like strings on the scalpels
We could also delve more into her genjutsu affinity

Her learning genjutsu would've been so lit and it also compliment her fighting style as well
I think Ino-Shika-Cho would benefit from summons related to their animal inspirations. Ino's boar would boost her protection, mobility, and offensive options. Shikamaru could summon a deer who could use its antlers offensively and cast unpredictable moving shadows that branch out in multiple directions. Choji summon being butterflies would increase his scouting abilities, and depending on its size, it could allow Choji to perform a falling human wrecking ball.

@Hazelcrisp They barely even touch on the fact Ino means Boar, Shika means deer, and Cho means butterfly. Ino gets called pig nose, Shikamaru's family raises deer, and Choji got butterfly wings from his pills.

I always thought Tenten could do well by travelling the world for weapons and then opening a museum for them instead of a weapons shop. That way she could teach the young generation all she knows about the weapons, and even better it's a big weapon stash in case of attacks from...aliens...
also during the story, i wish she did more with her weapons than just throwing them.

@@rishabhanand4973 I mean true, but Guy was able to put Madara on the ROPES with pure Taijutsu (albeit enhanced by the Gates) Neji got the Byakugan while Guy and Lee got the 8 Inner Gates (i.e. a focus on sensory abilities and a focus on physical abilities). I think Tenten would have benefitted from having something that actually showcased her mastery over individual weapons rather than just hurling steel at her enemies. I would have loved to see Tenten unleash a Barrage of weapons around an enemy then go in for close range combat while grabbing and swapping weapons constantly to be terrifyingly unpredictable. Or, a focus on dexterity and adaptability.
It really sucks that literally every character has better moments using weapons than the character designed around their use.

Sakura - From the start she was praised for her high intelligence and excellent chakra control. This meant she was a great candidate for a Genjutsu user. She also had her "inner Sakura" as a unique gimmick, that actually let her resist Ino's mind control, as she basically had a second mind. Leveraging that and turning her into a top class Genjutsu user, surpassing even the Uchiha's with her second mind, would cement her role within the team. Story wise this opens the door for her to ultimately be the one to deal with Sharingan Genjustu's, saving her allies from being trapped. She would also be the one to deal with anything that requires knowledge of the ninja world.
Sasuke - With his Sharingan he would be the top level Ninjutsu user, being able to copy any Ninjutsu he sees. Just like in the current series he would be a flexible toolbox of Ninjutsu, being able to respond to any threat in a very effective way. He would be the main combat force in team 7. Though he would have significant abilities in Genjutsu and Taijutsu, but would lose in those to Sakura and Naruto respectively. He would essentially become the glue that holds the team together.
Naruto - There are two jutsu's that we always see Naruto excel in: Transformation and Shadow Clones. Combining those two, Naruto would become the main intelligence gatherer for the team, transforming his clones and sending them out as spies. Even if they get caught and destroyed, the knowledge gathered would still transfer to Naruto. In combvat Naruto would primarily use Taijutsu, using combination attacks with his clones. As an addition he would rely on trickery through low rank Ninjutsu like Substitutions, Transformations and Camouflage. This would play into his fox theme, as foxes in Japanese folklore (kitsune) are tricksters.
This would make a very well-rounded team 7, with no one member hogging all the power.

I agree. Rather than focusing on sealing weapons, I believe she should focus on sealing supplies for the frontline. We have seen this ability before in the anime. Food, water, weapons, ammo, building supplies, medical supplies, and perhaps even a small hospital. Naruto Wiki says that she could even seal a ship.
The logistics of war are something never talked about in Naruto. She could head the logistics team after the war, aiding other affected regions. Sakura leads the medical team, Ino with intelligence and Tenten with the logistics, ensuring the supply chain never breaks. The only true combat-oriented lady of Konoha 13 is Hinata.

True, this is the core of how she uses her weapon... I guess there, the problem was that Guy himself didn't know any complex sealing justu he could have taught her. But, imagine, like some sealing justu that immobilise a person for example, or just block their ability to use their chakra somehow.

I always thought TenTen could easily make a pseudo *Flying Raijin* teleportation jutsu kunai. TenTen's strength comes from her summoning of sealed weapons, so it makes sense for her to attach a summoning seal to some kunai (just like Minato and Tobirama) and have those seals programmed to summon TenTen herself as a reverse summoning.
This way she could throw her kunai around specifc spots (like how Minato did during the wars he fought) and then she could teleport to wherever her kunai land.
Thank you, someone said this! Her skill, as stated in a filler, yes, was weaponry and sealing/summoning jutsu. So, imagine her using Flying Raijin and maybe integrating other sealing/summoning jutsu in her weaponry. Maybe instead of her teleporting around, she has weapons with seals that uses Flying Raijin to teleport others away. So insta-seal people. She'd be formitable, and maybe even broken.
I would also add give her more taijutsu feats, maybe close-range weapons. It always bugged me that she was on the taijutsu squad, but never showed any taijutsu. Not even using a sword, a bo, etc. I would imagine her as more of maybe Shinobu or Mitsuri from Demon Slayer in that regard.
I always thought they would make her a teleportation ninja for transportation of the hokake. Like the kunoichi that was part of the main base and telepoorted the raikage around. Remember that woman lol?
Honestly she should also infuse her weapons with chakra to make the WAY more effective
@Philip I mean, she used a Sage of Six Path Tool twice, that we saw, barely less than how many time Darui (who was fairly winded himself after that and Black Lightning) used the tools. Now, I imagine she probably spammed it two-three more times after before we then she her being held back by Chozo. So her chakra level isn't small, just not comparable to high-level shinobi. I would argue she has more chakra than each of the individuals in the Flying Raijin Squad that teleported Mei.
Plus, there could be ways to work around it. Maybe explore her talent in sealing jutsu to use the opponent's chakra. Or actually give us a better idea of how much chakra it takes to use than having two of the most high quantity chakra users span it, and then have random ninjas have to use a three-man seal to accomplish it once. And maybe even expand on chakra control, like they did with Sakura, so maybe it take less chakra for to use that is normally required.
Honestly Flying Raijin makes a lot of sense for her she would be great at recon and just general support darting around the place.
Speaking about Rock Lee and the other 8 Gate users I believe Kishimoto doesn't like to use them because they fair so well into a lot of matchups in the verse. he purposely kept them away during the pain arc due to the fact it would be a fairly easy task to defeat the 6 paths with Guy and Lee in the village. So, now I think he just doesn't focus on them and hope we don't think about it too much.
I think they would have faired well against a few of the path, but depending on how the power of the... human path ? (the one who suck out your soul) work, it may be the natural counter to taijustu user. If all they need it physical contact, it would be bad (although, I guess it would also requiere being able to follow how fast they are, and if Lee takes off his weights I am pretty sure even with all the paths there, Pain wouldn't be able to follow (assuming Lee got even faster and uses heavier weights too, since that fight with Gaara).)
One thing I always wondered is why training sabbaticals aren't a regular occurrence. That's basically what Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura got in the OG time-skip and look what it did for them! Why doesn't everyone get a year every seven years or so with no missions just to train? It would probably cause everyone's abilities to skyrocket.

It is kind of crazy that Naruto's class is pretty much a golden generation, with so many important clan kids/heirs, so much potential as a group. Then there's Sakura being the first ninja in her family and showing most of them up.

Tenten would have benefitted a lot from going through elemental training with Asuma and Naruto. If she had wind style her weapons would have been incredibly sharp, if she had lightning style she could have made use of the wires on her weapons to channel electricity, and if she had fire style she could counter wind which is her biggest weakness. I have to imagine even earth or water could be in some way useful.

Tenten having wind nature chakra would easily catapult her into the upper echelon of konoha. Especially if she has hollow swords or something to where she can control her weapons remotely using her wind nature. Throwing wind shurikens piercing through objects. Would be such a simple and easy way to make her relevant throughout naruto. Her coming to realization after the temari fight etc etc. But instead we get her napping with a fan
It would make more sense, if she got fire instead to have the higher hand over Temari and it would give us some non-Uchiha fire user.

What’s really cool is that if this was done earlier in the series and the supporting characters were holding their weight, you could have done similar buffs for the enemies they fought (would love to see a video on that topic). Like making Sasori and Kakazu on one team and have them go out and capture elemental bloodline users so Kakazu gets the affinity through a heart and Sasori can use those same jutsu through the puppet he makes form their body. If Orochimaru hadn’t quit he could make it a three man squad and could edo tensei the targets, giving the akatsuki three copies of the abilities to use.

I think they need to highlight how Ino can basically take control of multiple groups of people all at once and control each of them individually. This is what her dad did during the Orochimaru attack.

Love the idea for Tenten. I think there’s even more potential in that idea than what you discussed. Since a lot of these weapons have major cultural significance to their nations, it could give her a symbolic role in the post war peace, either by having Tenten return the weapons or by having the nations create some sort of shared monument or storage for the most dangerous weapons that Tenten and other weapon masters could oversee.
I personally would have liked to see Choji using different Chakra natures mixed with the body manipulation yang release we already see. For example using lightning release to control his own reflexes and his body's reaction speed. Another example could be using Wind release to use a sort of "total concentration breathing" esque ability to increase his physical stamina. Etc.

Another idea for Tenten to grow in power before Shippuden was to study the Sands puppets. Puppeteers entire arsenal is basically Tenten's, just in a portable spare body. With the addition of extra mechanics and various forms of attack besides stabbing, her treat level could considerably grow. If she went down this route, I could see her making weapons similar to the Seven Swords and maybe even rudimentary versions of the scientific ninja tools.
TenTen definitely should've went down the path of scientific ninja tools, with her expertise she would be cold af

@1rotzy I'm thinking more Gilgamesh. He can just create a portal anywhere and shoot or stick out the weapons from any angle. And UBW also just lets you shoot them out without the scrolls.
The thing with puppets is that they require advanced chakra control, and as far as I know, she doesn't have that, this is also the reason she couldn't perform healing jutsu like Tsunade
Some ideas I had were that, for Neji, I would want Hinata to be the one to save his life. His whole story about defying his fate as a branch of the Hyuga really fell flat with that but, reversing the roles would really delve into that and help Hinata's character as well. I wouldn't make the blow fatal for Hinata though it would cause major injury. Afterwards, it would really feed well into the idea of Neji and Hinata joining to change the Hyuga clan.
With Kiba, I've been playing with the idea of him finding a dog clan like with Naruto did with the toads. They wouldn't necessarily be able to teach him sage mode since that seems to be out of Kiba's reach but he could learn to summon them into battle and utilise Jutsu combinations like Naruto did. If you wanted to fit this more into your idea, I would say you could have Kiba work to make a dog village by going out and finding legendary canines and having them come together for him to eventually summon in battle along with Akamaru.
This is good! I alway thought it should have been her father to have died to make that scene meaningful but her getting fatally wounded for neji works too.
Kiba always did have a free spirit like Naruto and Jiraiya so the idea of him venturing out into the world to find mystical hounds isn't far fetched and suites his character beautifully. I spent hours discussing ways with a friend on how to make certain Naruto characters better, Kiba was always a priority on the list. It could have started since after Pain destroyed Konoha, he loses Akamaru and is shown up by Naruto. But instead of going to kakashi and asking for training he leaves the village in search of a fabled wolf that he tames and befriends.
@@joelgittens6857 great idea but I won't replace akamaru with some wolf, that's like replacing a friend or brother. Kiba's clan considers their beast companions very dearly. But losing Akamaru would be a great plot point for Kiba (much better plot development than neji's death 😄). I can see Kiba travelling around, gaining skill and maybe coming back to be a resoected academy teacher, or jonin team leader for his own team.

Instead of making Naruto a full Jinchūriki again, it would be cool if he could just summon each of the other tailed beasts to fight with him. You could get a lot of variety and since it would be more through their connection and shared chakra than an actual contract, sometimes they could just not show up, or maybe Son Goku shows up instead because he wants to hang out but Naruto was trying to summon Chōmei because he was falling from a great height and now they are just falling together 😂
I never understood why the hyuga never reworked the seal they put on the side branch. So that if any person who dies with a byakugan they get sealed and teleported back to the hyuga clan compound for burial. It would work very much like Ao’s seal on his byakguan but for the deceased person. Therefore protecting the body and sending it home for the burial allowing the family to grieve and bury their family . It also protects the byakugan and it’s possible secrets while ending oppression in a family. They could also change it so that every hyuga has it and change the seal to mean freed bird.

Ngl I always wanted neji to give lee one of his byakugan and him dying while doing that would've been so emotional. Maybe they could've said that if the byakugan's removed of the hyuga's volition it isn't sealed or that if its transplanted before the hyuga dies its not sealed.

The fact that Shikamaru's upgrade is simply to retrain himself says a lot of his power.
For Tenten, they could’ve also given her the Strength of 100 Seal. Since she wanted to be like Tsunade, and she uses seals for her weapons. Gives her more chakra + requires control to use, so could power her up that way.

I always thought that Konoha would benefit from developing different corps based around the different jutsu styles in the Naruto world. Having a defined and developed group of specialists would help in keeping the skills sharp of everyone included (since it gives them someone to train and spar with), could be used to store and distribute knowledge, and it could also help Genin find mentors outside of their Jounin Sensei’s if need be. This could include corps for specialists in Genjutsu, Taijutsu, Bukijutsu, Fuinjutsu, and maybe even the different Ninjutsu elements. I think something like this already kind of exists for Medical Ninjutsu due to Tsunade (I could be wrong), the Suicide Corps, and Puppetry in Suna but I think it could be developed further.
This would significantly help someone like Tenten, who could in charge of and leading the Bukijutsu Corps. Collecting and distributing knowledge on different weapons and related fighting styles, as well as passing down that knowledge to Genin that want to either learn how to wield a specific weapon or become a weapons specialist like her, could fit her character very well. Would certainly be better then just having her own a weapons shop. Something I wish they did more was just allow the Konoha 13 to have students and pass down their knowledge like how adults outside of their Jounin Sensei’s helped them as kids. They kind of do that with their children but I wanted to see more of it in Boruto. And also, give Lee a Genin Team. Sai gets one (at least in the anime). You’re telling me Sai has more time and more interest in training kids then Lee. You’re joking. Lee would love to become a Jounin Sensei to inspire and train kids into Taijutsu monsters like Might Guy did for him. Isn’t their an early episode of Naruto that shows him crying after a couple of kids in call him Lee Sensei? I get he’s supposed to be busy with the Suicide Corps (once again Sai is the leader of ANBU how does he have more time) and Metal’s training (again Sai has Inojin, same circumstances) but he very easily could have had a Genin team when Metal was younger. His team could be even be Chunin now and could serve to show the main Boruto kids how much more they have to grow.
Yeah I have a lot of things I’m mad about with Boruto… if you couldn’t tell. 😅 I could go on but this is long enough already so I’ll get off my soapbox.

I’m pretty sure if Hinata or Neji ever became a sage, then gentle fist could force nature chakra into someone and petrify them. Before boruto was introduced that was always my personal head canon for what Hinata and Naruto’s kid might fight like.
Its easy to forget that gentle fist works by injecting chakra, but yeah they probably should be able to do that

As ‘interesting’ as Boruto’s plot line is, I really wish that the spin-off that we received was the Konoha 13 during The Last era, becoming the strong characters we were just told that they became and expected to just believe it(pun intended).
It’s completely understandable for a character like Hinata to want to focus on her parenting life and supporting her husband who primarily has this political role. But how did it lead to that? Neji died to push her character development and relationship with Naruto and how did she effect the Hyuga clan before she settled down? What did she attempt to change for Neji’s will? Did her father change his mind and want her as the clan’s successor and she had to decide between two worlds? Is twin lion fist now a traditional technique for the main branch that was developed by the Hyuga’s princess that was once a risk of losing her birthright?? ALL OF THE 13 HAVE THESE TYPES OF UNANSWERED QUESTIONS!
I wanted to see these characters become strong and influential, and we didn’t get that. Even the Konoha 13’s parents were super badass and it was made immediately clear when we first saw them in Naruto. Now most of our og 13 are peacetime jokes. Ten Ten has a ninja tool shop that’s at a loss for business because of peace? C’mon. As Naruto’s ending and reveal for the character’s future, it’s funny at a glimpse. But they pushed for this spin-off. Give us more!
One of the biggest issues in Boruto’s universe is the decline of shinobi since they’re not needed during a time of major peace! Let’s see our 13 influence the new shinobi generation with people, nations, clans, rogues, etc. that are taking advantage of this time of peace!
We were promised so much from the original generation for change and they ALL had SOMETHING to prove, and now they’re just jokes.
The hyuga storyline was such a huge draw in season 1, but in Shippuden, it was all about powering up and linking every major event to Sasuke and Uchiha clan. Even the hyuga clan that was supposed to stand toe to toe with Uchihas were left in the dust.
It was such a letdown as hinata & neji fight created an emotional connection to the Naruto world. There were so many fanfic plot lines for the development, it's quite disappointing that none of that happened
The thing that really annoy me in Boruto is this "peace time".
It doesn't make much sense for people trained and raised to fight, who's almost entire world for 15 or so years of their life to just...stop, especially because there should still be a lot of fighting to do.
Like we are talking about a world where anybody with enough training and chakra could destroy a whole town, could burn down forests, could summon horrid beasts and so on! We are talking about multiple other countries and continents for gods sake! The five nations aren't the only ones, the five villages aren't the only ones! Why aren't they preparing in case of such a thing?
Instead of getting new kinds of jutsus, new ways of using chakra we get the otsutsuki that are "AHA, 95% of your complex power system is useless against me"

@@Miunbxp Sadly kishimoto didmt flesh this out as much as he should have but, Sakura is highly intelligent (most likely smarter that Tsunade), has greater analytical skills the sharingan allegedly which was stated by sasuke, and she is insanely good at genjutsu breaking which proved to be useful in the last, and her chakra control is much better than Tsunade’s for sure

IMO Tenten would be ideal for a teacher in ninja school. She has a lot of knowledge about ninja weapons that she could pass on to the younger generation and she has a character that suits the teacher role well.
Neiji can stay dead and still be more relevant. Just have Hinata unite the hyuga clan in his memory and work on a way to remove existing cage marks - that would then also be my entry for Hinata
Rock Lee should also be a teacher (seriously why did they pick Shino and Anko for that job) He could either be a teacher for specifically tai jutsu which then would be relevant once they realice that tai jutsu is their opponents weak spot or he could be a special teacher for those kids who don't have chakra or have low amounts of chakra, but still show potential as ninjas
Kiba is kind of weird as I would remove the dog food influencing stuff and have him focus on being a cop and a dog tamer. That combination makes a lot of sense as having access to dog sneces is a good way for solving criminal cases and his power is good enough to deal with most criminals. Just don't make him look weird with bad comedy
Shino should definitly be in the anwu. His insects are great for recon and in a fight. He really would be the ideal candidate for a higher ranked ninja in the anwu and tbh the only reason why I don't have him being leader of the anwu is because Sai has taken the job already
Inu as you said is in a great place as she is. As well as Shikamaru. The only one out of that team who needs changes is Chui - and tbh he just needs more screen time as a jonin. I honestly would give him a team of genin regardless of what you said just to give him some screentime in a ninja role instead of the comic relieve he does in boruto and other than that he'd be fine.
Sakura also if already more than usefull enough as leader of the healing unit and well you can't get much more usefull than as being a Hokage and even Sazuke being a secret agent doing research for the village is actually pretty much fine. (I don't count being trapped in a parallel dimension or losing the rinnegan as that is part of the actual plot, not of the background of the characters). Sai stays leader of the Anwu, that is a good place for him. He maybe could just appear more often and work closer with Naruto IMO
Bonus: Anko stays athletic and fit instead of turning fat and becomes Leader of Team 7. She would make a lot of sense in that role because of Mitzugi and both their connections to Orochimaru
I'm okay with Konohamaru being the leader of New Team 7 tbh. It was kind of a sacred torch being passed down, kind of thing. The 4th developed Rasengan, and Jiraiya passed what amounts to the 4th's legacy down to Naruto. In turn, the first person Naruto ever taught the Rasengan to was Konohamaru. (And he actually showed a heck of a lot of potential and skill early on, using it in Pain's Assault to rescue Ebisu when he was still only a Genin. Don't sleep on my boy Konohamaru)

i thought it was a missed opportunity that tentens obsession with lady tsunade didnt lead to an apprenticeship. the hundred healings jutsu wouldve been the perfect power-up for her. she couldve stored enough chakra to wield the bashosen for days, or unseal whole mountains over her enemies heads, it really would have put her on par with neji and lee

It was stated in the databooks and the last movie guidebook that tenten used the bashosen in combat to protect her allies during the war, the anime implies this cause by the time she first used the bashosen which was on the day up to when she finally runs out of chakra which was at sunset the battle was over, so this tells us that even if we only saw her using it two times she probably use it a lot more than that before colapsing due to chakra exhaustion, so she does have the chakra to use them, was she is lacking is the screentime to show it to us, and given that kishi dosn't care about tenten that will never happen unless there's a divine intervention ... so we can only hope🙏

I’ve said for YEARS that there should’ve been an story line about Lee unlocking the 7th and 8th gate, or that he learns new taijutsu techniques. Idk how Lee saw Guy curb stomping a literal GOD with the 8 gates and didn’t want to achieve the same thing.
I'm proud to have helped popularise the concept of Kiba having wolf sage mode many years back. Glad, people are starting to realise that potential.
I write naruto fanfiction, and some things I've done is ramp up all of the Konoha 13 as well as a bunch of the other characters in my story. Something that I'm doing is making Kiba apply an actual element to his fang over fang jutsu, which easily double the raw power of the original version. Just like how adding an element like wind to the Rasengan made the jutsu that much more powerful. I also plan to make Kiba become the leader of ANBU, specializing in the Hunter branch. I also made Tenten specialize in Fuinjutsu, while using all of her weapons more as a supportive thing, she also chooses to specialize in fighting with Butterfly swords before going on to use the Kiba Blades.

These characters legit do have a lot going for them they just get no screen time 😂
Kiba, like Choji, is a Yang Release user (as, it seems, is Shino). Branching out from that doesn't really play well with the core Inuzuka or Akamichi (or Aburame) toolkit, though as a Jounin they had to learn at least one additional nature release so as to have a backup if caught out (even Gai has Fire and Lightning), even if they lack the bloodlines to use multiple nature transformations simultaneously (at least, not without cheating with Shadow Clones).
But Yang Release is really versatile. Jiraiya's spiky hair jutsu, all of Konan's paper jutsu, Enma and the Uzumaki's adamantine jutsu, Sai's art jutsu, and a majority of seals and medical ninjutsu are all Yang Release.
Kiba and Choji both have this vast wealth of Yang Release jutsu outside of their clan libraries to play with for immense synergy with their core styles. Kiba in particular would benefit from a broader array of Yang Release jutsu since his Ninken basically can't use other nature transformations; I recommend the Hari Jizou and seals.

I think they should have set Tenten up to learn flying raijin. Not to the extent of Minato or Tobirama but moreso than the 3 jonin who need to work together to perform it. She already has a high proficiency in a space-time technique.

Honestly TenTen could get stronger by simply learning her chakra nature and infusing it into her weapon summons. The only members of the Konoha 13 that ever learns a chakra nature and uses it in their combat jutsu is Naruto and Sasuke. At least that we know of. Like if TenTen had wind style she could coat the blades similar to Asuma with wind Chakra increasing their effectiveness. If it's fire nature, she could create cyclones of fire or use lightning.
Eh. The problem with that is while it would technically make her stronger, it wouldn’t make any difference in the context of the series since any enemy would treat her attacks the same regardless.
Tenten should specialise in Fuinjutsu! It is criminal that she isn't already, seeing as she already uses it so much to store her weapons!!
kiba needs chakra blade-wearable claws to use with earth and lightning style chakra increasing his slashing and smashing ability respectively (he may need to learn chakra natures too)

This would give them a pseudo Almighty Push and help elevate their power level.

Naruto should be really strong even without Kurama. He was suppose to have immense chakra even without the 9 tails. Also as someone who has had access to an enormous pool of chakra you’d think it’d be pretty easy for him to raise his own chakra reserves. I’d have him do this and then master his father’s jutsu, specifically the flying thunder god jutsu and sealing jutsu.
Picture Choji if Asuma taught him Burning Ash 🤗 a deep breath, whilst using Partial Expansion Jutsu would be dangerous af. They need to use his jutsu with other jutsu to bring out more possibilities, it would be great. Oh and I agree on the Shikamaru statement, I just wish he had more offensive capability, he seems bound to Shadow Possession Jutsu. It was foreshadowed in the beginning of Naruto that eventually we would've likely seen Neji vs Sasuke, I wanted to see that fight so bad. It would've further demonstrated the idea that a pebble can be more dangerous than a kunai, if it's thrown by a master - meaning though Sharingan is technically superior to Byakugan, prowess in Byakugan can overcome Sharingan. I like to think of it as Byakugan is the superior Taijutsu-oriented Dōjutsu, whilst Sharingan is the superior Genjutsu & Ninjutsu-oriented Dōjutsu. It also used to be implied (mostly through the Ultimate Ninja series, but a little in the anime, if I recall correctly) that Byakugan gave some sort of damage boost to the gentle fist style (think Neji vs Hinata), as well as a chakra draining effect that was clearly not present for Sharingan. Food for thought. There's a video topic for ya - "jutsu that were hyped then nerfed", "jutsu that should've been great", "weird differences in jutsu between anime, manga and games" or something to that effect. They did Byakugan cold after a certain point, then they give the Otsutsuki 2 and do the whole "Byakugan Princess" thing, only to make an entirely new Dōjutsu - never shining a proper light on how awesome Byakugan is, when Kaguya used hers to effin' read minds. I'm js 🤔 Loved the video, the stick jokes kill a piece of my soul because I'm a Neji fan, but gotta say I love your videos dude. This one was great 👌🏾(mb for how long this is 😆)
That doesn't have to be a bad thing though. Ever since I saw Shikamaru use shadow possession in the chunin exam, I was like, that could be broken if Shikamaru had a mastery of doton jutsu. Add on his shogi fixation and Shikamaru being able to completely change the shape of a battlefield at will, while leading his opponent into traps that he can take advantage of with shadow possession would be broken and completely his style. I felt the same about Choji using doton to reinforce his body or create stone spikes across it or manipulate the ground however he needs to, to make his bullet tank faster, or use underworld swamp to trap his opponents in place while he smashes into them. Doton would make Shikamaru and Choji broken.

I’m not necessarily saying it’s bad, just that it seems like they bind him to strictly shadow possession in a way that limits his potential because they don’t utilize other things that would complete his arsenal and make him extra dangerous. Actually, I always thought it would be cool if Ten Ten somehow learned the Flying Raijin kunai technique or even a lessor version. Because with Rock Lee, Neji & Might Guy's speed, it would help her keep up. That and being able to change weapons like make a formula seal that switch out weapons from close range to long range even mid range to a defensive weapon. It would throw her opponents of guard for a second or two. Just my thought on it.
There really should have been several more summoning creatures and sage modes. Kiba with dogs and the uchihas with the ninja cats could have been some cool new sage types and even a bug sage of some kind man the possibilities are endless
I always wanted there to be more diverse and unique sage modes, like I'm sure every type of animal that's capable of being summoned has something senjutsu based if they're capable of using ninjutsu. It makes sense, and would've made a very believable power up for a lot of characters in the show.
It would've been awsome to see the old team 8 and team 9 work together to take down an Otsutsuki, since they can all use taijutsu, summoning, or _bugs_ meaning which means all of them could counter jutsu absorbtion
As cool as Tenten would be with the seven swords, I have to think that one of the coolest power ups would be Lee with a sword. Lee is often able to tag people he can’t beat and a blade essentially makes any single hit he lands hurt a lot more. He’s incredibly strong so Zabuza’s blade wouldn’t be hard for him to use without t slowing him at all, and if his strength was too much for a normal blade to handle, it’d be useful to have one that repairs himself. Lee can also use water walking so he could arguably learn to channel chakra through a weapon. He also thematically fits as someone who has similar ideals to Haku.
Or he could just use Nunchaku like Guy
My Sister in Law and I had a similar conversation before about Tenten. That she could have gone and searched most of the seven swords from the Mist. I can't remember if we talk about anything else that could have given Tenten more focus.
Idc if they’re anime only, Sai’s anbu team is like my second or third favorite team in Boruto.
In the battle with Momoshiki, Shikamaru was kinda a liability because Momoshiki actually absorbed the shadow hold and ended up using it against them later. Boruto had to step in to save them with his tiny “non existent” rasangon.
Seeing shino taking on ishiki with hella bugs is something I would pay anything to see
Naruto should have definitely had more canon arcs, I could see Naruto being as long as one piece with no difficultly
Yeah but that just what shonen jump did during shippuden. Shonen jump was treating One Piece like there favorite child and anyone who wasn’t One Piece just got thrown into the hurry up and finish so we can focus on One Piece.
It's sales numbers and health. Kishimoto got tired of the weekly release schedule. And Kishimoto didn't have the sales numbers to justify releasing only 30ish chapters a year like Oda does

I love how Rock Lee is considered a Taijutsu specialist but they either only use one or two hidden jutsu and tools.

I would definetely improve their jutsu by adding a few new additions.
Shikamaru could be able to use a single shadow clone, and use Nara techniques by manipulating it, or something. Ino should be able to share senses amongst a group of people, like Pain's bodies, to improve team cohesiveness.
Kiba definitely should have had more techniques than just taijutsu+ some sort of ranged attack through dog means, like dog-shaped homing chakra attacks and maybe some sort of medicine to give his transformations a boost, like the akimichi pills from part 1
I had a thought, since We considered Cho adding chakra natures to His expansion jutsu.. What if Shikamaru added a chackra nature to His shadows?? Imagine a shadow possession which can then drown, electrocute, or burn His captive, oh but wait isn't there a flaw that makes Him take the same damage when possessing someone.. So explain to Me, how He can strangle them or smash their head against a wall and knock them out without doing the same to Himself 🤔 seems like they pick and choose when this effect happens.. 🙄

i love tenten and kiba going on these missions, i would definitely watch that. speaking of, kiba does have a sibling aswell, an older sister, she appeared when akamaru was hurt i believed and kiba almost dragged akamaru back on a mission so she reprimanded him or something like that.
Her name is Hana and actually has 3 Ninken but prefers to be basically an animal vet.

Shino could be Hanzo 3.0 and I don't think people realize that. He's already smart, Just give him a little more chakra or like chakra bugs of some sort, or if were being reasonable here bugs existed before "animals" they could have the most ancient sage mode with trillions of different types of bugs guy could have all types of abilities.
Shino doesn’t get screen time because he’d win all his fights by killing all his opponents and they’d have to make him the main character and then cancel the show after his bugs eat all the Akatsuki’s chakra before they got Shukaku. I refuse to believe he doesn’t kill *so many* of his appointments
Let's be honest Naruto could literally have clones do his job. He's fast enough to get anywhere he wants if an emergency occurs. There's no reason at all for him to be an absent father except to give Boruto a reason to be angsty.
Knowing that tailed beasts can't actually die, their energy will just reaccumulate somewhere else eventually, I would like to see Naruto find a baby kurama somewhere rejoining together
Kurama is gone all his chakra got destroyed doing baryon mode he not coming back

A baby Kurama would be great but maybe if he didn’t remember Naruto or anyone else. Maybe he can roam the world free of jinchuriki

As it stands right now karama not being able to come back because all of his chakra was"burned up" in baryon mode is just contradictory to pre-established lower. I'm perfectly fine if kurama is 100% definitively never coming back I just think it would be fun if Naruto finds a baby kurama and raises it with the love and respect it didn't have.
The way you described how Tenten could have been better reminded me a bit of Ursa from Fairy tail, who ofcourse is very strong, but her whole thing is that she has armor and weapons for every situation
