I have one of the Stihl mini chain saws and you do need to oil the chain sap and other stuff will cause it to stop turning the chain but a can of white lithium grease or WD-40 will work for chain oil, but I have used the Stihl saw to cut 3-4 inch trees but it has never failed to perform for what it was made to do plus a lot more. The 4 inch bar and chain can cut up to about 6-8 inch tree limbs if you don't push it and let it do the work. I have only one complaint and that is the battery don't last as long as I would like and the extra batteries are very expensive.
As a smaller older person without much upper body strength or experience with saws, I don't think I'd be comfortable with the Milwaulkee with it's weight and lack of upper blade protection.

Does the battery on this small chainsaw the same as some brand names. Like could you use a milwaukee or some other brand name battery on it.
I have one and really like it. simple to operate and was on sale for about $80. defintely good for pruning and firewood.
Those are perfect for clearing maple suckers out of my hedge.

Sawzall works but not ideal for one handed use where you need the other hand to control the limb you're cutting.
