RE-READING JACQUELINE WILSON BOOKS: How many Jacqueline Wilson books can I read in a day?

- A while ago I found my stack of Jacqueline Wilson books I've had since I was a kid, and I had a massive urge to read them again - so I did exactly that. I spend the leap day reading as many books as I could in 12 hours. I didn't do as well as I'd hoped, but it was still a lot of fun!

Watching this it’s crazy to realise just how prolific Jacqueline Wilson is/was, but also that I think I read pretty much all of her books when I was kid up until about 2007/2008ish when I moved on (although have read at least of the newer ones since then). It’s giving me the urge to go back and read everything she’s written
In Butterfly Club, we find out that the twins are adults, Ruby is the star of her own show called Ruby Red, and Garnet is the producer and writer. It was a lovely little callback to Double Act!

Omggg! I haven't read Butterfly Club. I might read it. Got to have a copy soon.
It also fits because Garnet never wanted to act in front of other people but Ruby was desperate to become an actress. It's sweet that they both ended up in the TV industry and Garnet ended up the boss while Ruby got to be the star she always wanted to be.
I LOVE Jacqueline Wilson! She is my favourite author since I was a little girl and now that I am an adult I still read them very frequently! Love your video!!! 💜💙💜💙💜

Jacqueline Wilson isn't as famous here, on the other side of the Channel! I ran into one of her books randomly a few years ago, it was translated into French, and fell in love with it - I was 26! It was the Hetty feather series, which I still reread sometimes now! She's a great author, tackling some difficult social issues. It was a pleasure watching your vlog and discovering some of her other books!
She's definitely a British national treasure, but I've never really thought about if she's as big anywhere else! Ah, my sister also loves the Hettie Feather books too (we're 25!) - there's no shame in loving books intended for younger readers when you're an adult! So glad you enjoyed this video :)

Something about the Worry Website I remember there was a chapter (I think the penultimate one, possibly the one about the fighting parents?) that a child actually wrote and submitted in a competition or something, and I think the last chapter was an extra one JW added in response to try and show some hope after that situation - I might be remembering this slightly wrong tho
I love Jacqueline Wilson books, and my biggest flex is that my name is Charlotte too and I get called Lottie because of Lottie from the Lottie Project

I loved Jacqueline Wilson's books as a kid. The Lottie Project, Bad Girls, The Dustbin Baby, The Illustrated Mum, Candyfloss & The Cat Mummy were my favourites. I've been re-reading Harry Potter, so I've been thinking of reading her books again. It has been years!
It was so much fun to go back and read them! Candyfloss has always been one of my favourites too 😊
I'm a Brit living in the US and every time I go to a book store, I look for her books here. They're usually very few and far between though. :(

I thought the moral of Video Rose was to get up from the sofa and do things. That's why the man gave Rose those powers, so she'd do something other than watching videos all day.

If you were to start off with something like Lola Rose, Kiss, Vicky Angel or My Sister Jodie, you'd easily be able to find a happier book.
I adored Jacqueline Wilson as a child! Like you, I loved Double Act, but I'm not a twin so I don't think I had the same connection as you had. It did make me want to be a twin, though
I loved the lottie project because my name is lottie! 😂
For the thing about Tanya referring to the children's home she went to as the Dumping Ground, I like to think that in universe, Cam wrote the books and Tracy illustrated them. Cam seems like somewhat of a self insert for Jacqueline Wilson herself, both are older lesbian writers, and the illustrations were done the way they were in the first book because it was supposed to look like Tracy, a 10 year old, drew them.
I think twins might have been a big 90s/early 2000s thing because I’m not a twin but me and my cousin were definitely obsessed with twins when we were younger 🙈
Hahah, maybe there were just so many famous twins at the time and everyone loved them!
