Him and the other small faces are not truly recognised for the talent they were Steve Marriott is one the greatest British R&B Soul singers we have ever had. A white man with a black man's soul voice.
An Absolute Force of Nature: Marriott Had EVERYTHING Great Voice, Great Guitarist (And He Was) , Great Presence, and Last but not Least GREAT TIMING, He just had IT whatever IT was, a Massive Loss his Death was, They Just Don’t Make Them Like This Anymore. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻🙏❤️🌞👑
This is my favourite song of all time, I am having it played at my funeral. Steve Marriott was an amazing talent, the energy and genius of the man was never really recognised and to lose him in a fire was unforgivable! God Bless Steve!
Tin Soldier with PP on backing vocals is amazing - you'll find a nice video of this on CZcams - I always thought her voice should have been louder though
I was thinking of something appropriate to write when I scrolled to your words. Perfect. I can only add - if only he knew how much he was loved, adored and appreciated.
Oh my God...how sad. 😢 Mr Marriott, live on, if only for the generations that never saw, and maybe never will, know what you did to change attitudes of small minds to make the world a more tolerant and accepting place for new generations. Maybe you didn't even know. I can't talk for anyone else, but people like you made a huge difference to the difficult childhood my sister and I had. We became brave enough to leave our home in secret one night, hitch-hike across australia as far away as we could get and take our chances on the streets. I know that sounds dramatic to people reading this. But it wasn't then. We did do it a bit tough. Anyway, many years ago now and much water under the bridge since then. Thank you. RIP ❤
Steve Marriott was a damn great musician and singer I think he was definitely one of the greatest man it was in his soul ,he never missed a beat ,30 days in the hole, honky tonk woman, Alabama, all or nothing, man there's so many I can't list them all he was awesome.
I met him several times in the 60`s when his band The Frantics played in our local dance hall,a truly lovely bloke no side just another young man having the time of his life.Wish he was still with us.
Saw him with Packet of Three in a small venue, brilliant gig didn't realise what a great guitarist he was and superb vocals. Had a quick chat with him after, lovely down to earth guy.
So wish this Mega person was still with us as he would make today's so called music look like the pure noise that it is! Am so very happy that I grew up with this unssuepassable music!!
Albert , For those of us that grew up with Humble Pie & The Small Faces & Steve's solo career he already has , For the kids today that may never dig what he was & did it's their loss . Saw Humble Pie twice back un the days when Frampton was with them & those are memories that will never go away. As good then as it is today. Timeless talent will be here for those that missed the boat.
Great song, great singer in Stevie Marriot one of the very best vocalist's so sadly missed now thank's for everything the legend STEVIE MARRIOT ROCK ON STEVIE.
I was lucky to see him in Rehoboth DE. We can came back down for second day soundcheck and Marriott bought me a beer and played pinball with me. We had good weed and got invited onto the bus after that show. Spent some time with Goldie talking about the Vietnam war. How lucky to have caught time with Marriott just before his passing.
Blimey.......that made me shiver.........agree with all the comments.....I never knew any of his later stuff was recorded I saw him and the other players in this band at the Irish Centre in Digbeth Birmingham and he was wearing a bib and brace trousers then .....he died a few weeks later what a loss to Rock RIP Stevie you will never be forgotten......and thanks for this amazing video
Steve is our superstar reserved for those that heard a natural born talent, any guitar he picked sounded unique, his singing and writing all things that excelled at. He is a National treasure. He was always working and collaborating on something . He played the Harp too!
I know. Just another reason I HATE tobacco, and especially cigarettes. I think his abilities on the guitar were still blossoming. What might he have obtained? Tobacco robbed us of Steve. (By the way, I used to smoke, but I quit over 40 years ago.)
I said it 50 years ago and I will say it today.
Steve was the best vocalist rock ever had. Period
agreed…100%
A voice like no other.

@@felipelotas5609 Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I will stand by mine
Terry Reid was just as talented - actually more so.
My brother once said "Steve Marriott should've been a superstar."
Damn right. Probably the greatest vocalist of his era.
WHO SAYS HE WASANT KEPT THE FLAME
@@mullcol Sorry?
He is, listening and watching such as this says so. Sad loss.
Its not like the Small Faces were obscure, they had number one hits in the UK and a run of big hits throughout the mid to late 60s
@@robertexley5193 Yes, I know, but I'm talking of the stratospheric stardom of Zeppelin etc.
It’s just a crime that Steve wasn’t a mega superstar worldwide. One of the best singers ever to come out of this country❤️❤️
This country? He's British
請問
Stevie is a legend
Rubbish!
He is not even close
RIP and long live Steve Marriott (January 30, 1947 - April 20, 1991), aged 44
You will always be remembered as a legend.
This version of the song is superb and the late Steve's voice at this point in his life was outstanding.
Raw emotion, Steve Marriot....his voice reaches your heart
Best front man ever to come out of the 60's, amazing voice, always pitch perfect..
Totally on a different level,,,,,,,,,,,,,he was a class act.
totally spot on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,no one comes close to him in his day
True
Got that right. We miss you Steve.
great but best? no way
No words can say what a legend Steve was a blues singer and guitar star .
Him and the other small faces are not truly recognised for the talent they were
Steve Marriott is one the greatest British R&B Soul singers we have ever had. A white man with a black man's soul voice.
Yep, seen a lot of black people wondering how good he was.
....and he's in the rock and roll hall of fame!
Very well said. I fully agree!!!!
You clearly don’t remember Humble Pie, one of the worlds biggest bands back in the 70s?
I am talking in the general public not amongst his peers. They have never been recognised in the way their talent truly deserved.
Steve Marriott - the greatest rock vocalist of all time!
Amen to that
PAUL RODGERS
@@fionabookie2781 We know!
