@Dr. Deep not a hope. GE have always played second fiddle to RR. If was investing in new airplane I’d insist on RR. Why have burger when you can have fillet steak?
A380 has one of the quietest takeoffs. First time I was on it I expected the engine roar to be very loud and scary. Also it took off quickly. Love this aircraft.
The rain helps you visualize the incredible amount of thrust the engines are producing to get all that weight off of the ground and actually flying. It’s impressive to anyone that can appreciate the forces in play here.
Not always. On a dry runway they don’t always use Max thrust, when a runway is “compromised” like this they use full power (according to some pilots I’ve listed to!).
@@adam_matthews correct. In heavy standing water its far less likely they will derate the takeoff performance. Especially at SYD 16R where at the end of the runway is the Pacific Ocean 😅
imagine the biggest and heaviest passenger plane ever built taking a while to lift off the runway... isn’t that so crazy lol it should only take 5 seconds amirite 🤔🤔🤔
It couldn't take off when they first built the plane even with its quad engine. The secret of this plane is the design of the wings. It was DOA until the wings were re-disigned.
Usual with heavy planes, but yes a380 takes a bit. If you sit inside you think the same. But the fact that it can still stop on the runway if sth fails lets you realize how much length there still is infront of the plane
@@OutOfRangeDE I have been in the A380 many times and it never took this long to get off the ground. Once the nose lifts the whole plane almost immediately follows.
@@safetyinstructor funny that you say that bc boeing made the 747 that has been in service for longer than a half century. They have dominated the aviation industry.
The a380 is mind boggling. Every time I fly to Singapore I can never quite believe that the absolutely massive plane I can see from the terminal is the one I’m getting to travel on. Amazing plane. Top deck is 👌👌

Damn I thought it had an endless runway, what a plane ✈️
It’s 3 km runway
@Chendra Dyven nah Singapore
They are endless
@@joerisimmanuel9156 *4km (well 3960m)
@sharkattacker gaming 3 miles are a bit much, more likely 1,5 to 2 miles
The runway seems to be as long as the one in fast and the furious
That's exactly what I was thinking 😂
Like seriously.
Bruh 😂😂
‘Insane’ is an understatement. This damn thing was pressure washing the runway
I will see that view again after this pandemic...hope to you all who are missing flying.
:(
The good thing tho is that
There a te less planes flying which means there is less pollution
Good luck finding an a380

Captain: Nope...
Theres eco mode on planes now???

They are not called co-pilots anymore. For years, that has been called First Officer.

Fully loaded A380 takeoff roll is 2900m (9514 feet). Seems this one took almost all of it
Magnificent engineering

Awesome video. Thankyou👍
Seems like a normal takeoff. Not sure what is insane about it.

He’s talking about how insane the thrust is, not that the takeoff is anything unusual.
The most intense raindrop race I've ever witnessed on a window.
RWY16R at Sydney. Nice!
Thanks, I feel dump for not recognising it😊
Rolls royce + air bus = thunderstorm

How the hell did the a380 take off on a 2400m runway
Must of been rapid
How can you tell the lenght of the runway?
It was the 3.9 km runway at SYD.
Most of the time they never need full power and take it easy. But when they do... It is impressive.
Must have*
I'm sure they used TOGA this time
I wish I could fly in A380
Small hollow like windows are kinda annoying. I guess the upper deck might be better.
I did just once, on its upper deck.
@@PhoenixSky7 you where lucky🤤
That was a seriously long rotation

Wow , that's called engine power.👌👌
Powerful machine 🔥
And people like to stand behind that at st Maarten
A380 is a true beast in TOGA. I have seen videos of Crews limiting thrust to like Flex 75 and still taking off with ease.
Makes me nervous watching this. I hate flying 😣

If only passengers could see the trail of the jetblast behind the plane too 😱😱😱👌

So quiet and smooth lol.
The 380 only plane I feel safe in
The power so sheer it dried the plane in take off
WOW POWERFUL
Water splash there seems like it coming after the plane to catch it. 😂😂
The only thing I hate about the A380 is that the windows are very small which makes it very hard to film
Fantastic take off 😍
Sydney has the coolest control tower. Singapore Airlines A380, from runway 16R, I see. Way to go!
That cloud looked like a Hurricane. Fair game for taking off in that weather. Id s**t myself on that flight.
